  1. Yea we stated out trying to export directly from PS and had issues but since we started using the utility it has not been a problem... I don't do the actual final import, the M.D. does so I'm not sure what that looks like yet.
  2. we dont do ANY registration in ezws... just started with SSI and is working well. to your question, yes we handle walkups in PS. the basic flow is now online reg with SSI ( i close registration at midnight the night before ) and then the morning of the match i export to ezws and then export to PS. once in PS all we do is goto edit shooters/squads and add new shooter. you wouldnt know they were a walkon. once the match is up and running if we have a late arrival we use the add walkon/shoot thru or whatever its called now from the handled. as far as importing back into ezws from PS we have found the only reliable way is to use the Practiscore exporter posted on PS home webpage. it finds the master device over wifi and pulls the info it needs for ezws. hope this helps Andrew
  3. This is true... we have battery backup cases for all our ipods, they run off 2 AA batteries and cost about $12 apiece i think. for the large match yesterday i had all the ipods running off the 2AAs and once they were drained they started using the internal battery.. then we would just change out the 2AAs... rinse, lather, repeat. got a pack of 48 AAs from Mendards for like $11 and still have over half of them from running 10 ipods for 7 hours.
  4. My club has been using this all year long and we have had nothing but good experiences with it. all the participants love it and most of us can score faster with it than before. we have had such good luck with it that we used it yesterday to score the Iowa State Ruger Rimfire Championship match. we had 120 total entrants and many of the volunteer score keepers were new to the system... everything went amazingly well with no real hickups to speak of. the IOS version really is pretty simple. I have not heard of anyone who has had a bad experience with the system. Also the first week we used it we sent Ken at PS an email at about 10pm and got an instant response to our learning question. they have been great to work with. I also got the chance to work with the palm based system at A3 this year and I found it pretty simple to use. I dont feel like we forced anything on anyone... just moving the sport into the new age and, like i said, everyone at our club loves it. Id be happy to be a resource for anyone thinking about using PS or who has questions... feel free to contact me anytime! Andrew
  5. so we started using SSI for online registration a couple weeks ago... working well.. i put together a powerpoint of how to export registration to ezws and then to PS. if anyone wants it pm me.
  6. that is beautiful... thanks for the help, SSI site is not the easiest place to find things!
  7. So i am starting to play with this in anticipation of using online registration next season... however i cannot figure out how to download/export the match file for registration into ezwin. http://tinymicros.com/ssi2ezws/ sounds like this is supposed to come out in a zip file and go thru this converter so ezwin can read it properly but i can only download csv or pdf files... what am in missing? thanks!
  8. Glad to help... new people to this need all the support they can get!
  9. Shoot n score it would do that but still had to pass thru ezwin before going to PS. not sure of a direct way
  10. Depends..if you want a place online for them to go register you could use one of those options.... If the are just emailing you, then u could just register right on PS. I do all our registrations on ps....only time we use ez win is to post to uspsa
  11. im less concerned with the equipment than the actual ability to print from the right screens. currently if we want to print we have to do a screen capture of the score page and go to the gallery and print from there... there needs to be a print button on this page! as far as printers go... yea we can get decent $100 lasers and my plan was to put them inside some sort of box with a flap on the side to keep dust and crap out and protect from the rain. it would be nice to have a small thermal like the one above but sounds like that might be awhile off.
  12. sounds like the ios version went in for approval... however long apple takes to do that
  13. That reminds me of another suggestion... we have had a couple instances of either a reshoot or entering scores on the wrong competitors entry... a very small and out of the way button for "clear targets" would be helpful instead of having to press and hold each target to clear them if the need arises. have i mentioned lately you guys rock??
  14. see that nobody replied to this.... support@practiscore.com they would have some insight on it..
  15. once you have the device running on rooted android.. i just went to the PS website and downloaded the APK direct from there... installed and away we go.
  16. as long as you have a file explorer and the rulebook file on the device you should be able to open it.
  17. We've been pretty busy... the primary focus last couple weeks has been SASS (testing it at a large match and getting it ready for their World Championship End of Trail), Time Plus w/ points (for the Ironman), Steel Challenge (by popular demand), and a general Time Plus module that can be used for IDPA as well. I was the instigator of the automatic backup of the SD card on the Palm system, so I do agree it is needed. And it will be done - but probably not til after Ironman. Custom Divisions will come as part of the Multi-Gun effort - they vary them often. Ken N. Steel Challenge: requests. - Please allow for user-defined Stage names. We don't all run the big 8 stages. I might be helping with a 14 stage match in the next year of so. - Please allow for user-defined equipment divisions. Such as, "J-frame, no holster" also multiple entries in the same dividision
  18. ive been trying to get ours changed to the clubs logo but i cant for the life of me figure out where to put the file so the nook will recognize it.
  19. i was having the same issue with being able to install from card... i just went to the website and pulled it down that way. still playing with how to get astro file manager on it but havent had the time
  20. ive used flitz and a dremmel to polish internals before and it does help some. just work it to a nice shine... sear, ejector etc... basically anything that rubs together during trigger pull
  21. i had the same problem with my 147s... turns out i was crimping way too much... +1 for backing that crimp off until it just removes the bell and i have no problems now at all. BTW i pulled some of the bullets i was having issues with and it became crystal clear that was my problem... squishing the bullet so bad it wasnt engaging the rifling as it should.
  22. glocks are known for loose chambers which allow the brass to bulge when the round is fired. I have been reloading for about a year and between my lee pro 1000 and now my dillon 550 i have not had any issues with this brass but some do.
  23. we did one one time that was starting seated on the toilet reading a magazine.... there was talk about pants around ankles...
  24. Mark.... what is need of a class 10 card? think i only have class 4s
  25. now that you say that.... have you seen those littler thermal printers that meter maids use? hang off a belt or shoulder strap.... just a thought about keeping them mobile and not having to constantly plug and unplug.
