I have small hands and a SA 1911. I had to make alot of changes. I shorten the trigger thinner grips and a lower thumb safety. I now have a good purchase and really improved my shooting, my taget doesn't look like a shot gun hit it, I do need to replace mag release. I have been looking at the MP in 9 cal. That fit my hand real well, have a good purchase, and my hand lines up well. The only thing would be work on the trigger. I went through alot on my 1911 til I had it rt. Now my groups are good, and I have control. Really sucks when it'ts not rt.

Hi Corey, I want to thank you for you help. I'm using Clays and Tite group 45 acp 230 LRN Missouri. Have done some work to SA 1911, thinner grips trigger , getting alot better purchase. I may need to change thumb safety so my hand does not lift off backstrap.I'm getting really good grips, and I don't have to think so much. I'm real happy w/ my groups it's a good feeling. Tha...

I have a question, I have a Sa 1911 45 acp. I have been thinking abt getting an XD 4" 9 cal. I also plan on using it for ccw. I really like the 1911 alot , done some work to fit my hand better for better purchase. I want to get an XD for concealed and use for idpa. I have spoke to quite a few people and said just stay with the 1911. I reload for 38/357 Ruger revolver and the 1911. I think for me concealed the 1911 too big but a great gun. Any suggestions?

I want to startng IDPA, I would like to stay w/ the 1911 in 45acp. I am loading win. 231 5.1 to 5.4 w/Miss LSWC.I think w/ the rt load I'll be ok. I think I'm justifying getting a new pistol. I'm going to change the powder to clays ,and maybe going to a 200 LSWC

Looking for lighter recoil load, to lighten up recoil on the 1911 when shooting. I going to try the clay. Just want to be able to handle the gun a little better.

Shooting sa 1911, had been using win 231 45 acp. Looking for a load for lighter recoi. I was thinking of going with MP 9 orSa XD 9 . I was thinking about going with 200 LSWC titegroup or clay.The other option was getting a M&P 9 or a Xd 9.I really like the sa 19911 and thats what I want to stay with.

I plan on shooting my sa 1911,problem when i go to disingage thumb safety my hand come comes off the grip safey. Plan on on changing grip for a smaller one and changing thumb safety either an extended one or lower or bother. I think this will give me a proper hand grip on pistol as well.
