  1. Have the Trojan in 9mm and just got a RO 9mm Operator. RO had to go back right out of the box due to issues that no quality control check could have missed.Quick service and now it runs great. Did change out the main to 20 lb and recoil to 11 lb to solve a perceived slow cycling issue. Trojan has the Dawson package and has been 1000% reliable in lots and lots of rounds. I do shoot the RO better for some reason that I can not figure out. Maybe the rail helps? My opinion is if I could only have one would be the RO but it will need to be tinkered with. The Trojan comes ready to rock.
  2. I just got one. Had to send it back due to the slide hanging up on the disco right out of the box. Once returned it shoots really well. I am way more accurate with it than my STI Trojan for some reason. Especially the longer shots. Weird. Need to bench both side by side and see what the deal is. With VZ grips and a Brown magwell it shows over 43 oz by .2 I have a cheap scale so really could be close. One thing I do not like is the slide seems sooooo slow in cycling. I swear it takes .5 to cycle but my splits are close to the Trojan. Its in my head I guess. Going to try a 11 lb recoil and 20 main to see if that helps. Any advise on springs?
  3. Dear Koski , thank you for being the jerk that you are and making my USPSA jump more worth while. Cheers

    Glock warranty

I do not know as I am not a Glock fan. But from all I have heard their CS is very good. Supprised me when I went on their site and saw this. I do not trust them and just my dumass .02 cents worth.

anyone seen this or has Glock decided they are rich enough?
  7. Sorry no dis meant. Just my thoughts on the future. Debate all you want now time will tell.
  8. Just cuz all the sheep are doing one thing do not follow. In 5 years most SS shooters will be shooting minor. Just my .0005 cents and fyi I have been known to be wrong here and there...
  9. It is not the extra 2 rounds that make the difference. At my level most stages are SS friendly and it only is a plus on steel if you miss. Take a 9mm out for pratice and shoot then use the 45. Times for me are way better with the 9mm. Only catch is you have to hit A's. I find that usually not a problem. Time will tell but I believe it is the future. We will see...
  10. Sorry for the non shooting topic but boared at home. Friend emailed to me and can not give the proper credit. Sorry
  11. Yes I get what you are saying RickB but also I hope you see my point and that is the sillyness of IDPA and its rules. To each his own and I have moved on.
  12. Here is from my last regional. PE for having my big toe stick out from cover.
  13. Hello all, from a former IDPA hard core junkie I have a question. Maybe it is me or has IDPA becoem a foolish game like they claimed USPSA became. Their rules are focued on who the sponcers are and how they are treated. As an ex IDPA junkie I am way excited to move to the next level.-- USPSA Yehaaa
  14. I shoot SS minor with a STI Trojan and find it not a disavantage. I do need to hit A's but that is well worth the advantages of 9mm. I believe that some day most SS shooters will be shooting minor. Huge advantage in my mind. Most USPSA shooters I shoot with have trouble with the aim part but are blazing fast. At my level I beat most major SS shooters except the masters. Just my .02
  15. ok got it, seems like the correct option is to get the slid lock to work properly if I want to shot IDPA with it. Do not really want my limited gun going to slide lock so sounds like I need a Trojan in 9mm?? In the mean time will shoot a local IDPA match next sunday with it and see how my math skills are. Thank you all for you input.
  16. Hi all, anyone shooting a ESP gun that does not go to slidelock? Have a Cameron custom in 40 (with bushing) that could be legal for IDPA. Use it for USPSA limited but went out for fun and shot a classifier with it and smoked my best time ever with my glock 34. Only problem is it does not go to slidelock. Checked IDPA rules an that is not a problem. Just wondering if anyone out there is using a similar set up and if the no slidelock thing is a deal breaker in IDPA. Only bad thing I see is having to be sharp on the stick and know your rounds left. That could be a problem for me... thanks
  17. Thanks DNH, makes sense and I liked the thread. I do practice reloads and transitions but as in most things I can practice harder. When I watch other shooters that is the single biggest area I see where you can make up time on the competition. Tomorrow is a local IDPA match and I am going to do my best to shoot all 0's. Will give that a try and see what happens. thanks
  18. Sorry for beating a dead horse but it seems like a simple sport till the buzzer goes off. Thank you for the response and will try more dry firing and shooting A's.
  19. Good day all, I am a newbie shooter of 2 years and having a tough time with deciding how to practice and shoot a match. I am a IDPA sharpshooter and USPSA B limited shooter. He is my problem, I can shoot accurate but kinda slow (splits .30-.35) and with this approach I can be very consistent compared to others I shoot against. Might not win my class but usually get close. The other me can shoot fast for my skill level, have good splits and usually keep them in the center of mass. Problem is I am not consistent with this approach and usually either a hero or a zero. With this approach if I am on I can usually beat most experts. If I am not it is ugly. Common sense would tell me to shoot slow and consistent but its like I have a little devil on my shoulder yelling at me to shoot fast. It is way more fun for me to shoot fast as slow and consistent is a little boring. I really am in love with practical shooting and stay up at night trying to figure out how to get to the next level. Probably need some mental counseling. Would appreciate any advice. thank you
  20. thank you Pezco.smokin price but i have to make it thru christmas. If still available after will check with you when funding is there. thank you

    1911 9mm

thanks for the info, overlooked the Spartan. Little bit more expensive but probably money well spent.
  23. Just morphed from a Glock shooter into a 1911/2011 lover. Have a Cameron limited for USPSA and looking for a 9mm 1911 to shoot in IDPA ESP. Any thoughts on the Taurus? Would buy a STI Trojan but my money tree is looking dead. Great price and wondering if it had the capabilities of being breathed on to make it a good shooter. Have a trashed left wrist due to dirt bikes and need to minimize the damage or would shoot CDP. thank you
  24. thank you to all! Good thoughts on the 36 and from the way it sounds the 26 will be the way I go. I live in AZ and it is hard to carry in the summer. Otherwise it would be the 23 or 19. thanks and cheers
  25. use the rocket for competition and the ultimate for carry. both are the best buy you can get for a glock.
