Weak hand wrist locked (not death grip) at 45 degrees is how I get my sights back on target.
-
I forgot to include in my original post that the problems began at a Haley Strategic Pistol class. I shot 300+ rounds (with at least 50-60 mag changes; tactical, speed, and admin) before I was forced to switch to my backup sig.
I ended up trading it away. Century took it back for recall on the barrel but did not address my other issues on its work order or any other materials. I unfortunately did not get to test fire it.
I will be giving the Grand Power platform another shot with the X-Caliber.

I get 23 in three of my mags with Dawson basepads, and 22 in the other two. A little frustrating, but the TTI basepads I have for my M&P only allow for 22 (when they are advertised for 23).
-
Have you tried different mags?
Also as said, open guns are set up to shoot major loads unless sprung light. Most factory ammo doesn't make them function correctly.
I have 5 mags, all with dawson + 6 basepads. Problems were not mag specific (unless the basepads do something). Issue has not come up again whatsoever with all other ammo. Completely regulated to the Fiocchi 115 i shot.

Forgot a detail, I have a tungsten guide rod/captured spring.

What weight spring would you recommend?

Two live rounds. So, hotter load or weaker recoil spring should be a step in the right direction? I'll try shooting the same ammo with the comp removed to confirm that issue. Thanks for the fast response. Any other ideas?

I just bought this set up:
Glock 17 - KKM Threaded Barrel w/SJC comp
Glock 17 - Zev Tech Slide (some lightening cuts)
Mounted RMR
Glock 35 frame (stock)
Glock 17 mags + Dawson Extended base plates
I bought this gun for fun, I have never really shot competition nor great intentions to do so. As such, I don't reload and just want to play around at the range.
Remington 115 UMC ran this set up flawlessly.
Fiocchi 115 would consistently double feed (1-2 times per mag)
I also noticed that brass doesn't seem to be ejecting very far (3-6inches up and then dropping).
What could be the weak link in the set up? What could I do to increase the reliability across types/brands of ammo?
Thanks in advance guys!

Definitely A, especially if its an old IMI (as opposed to IWI) with a frame mounted safety. I have owned and sold many Baby eagles in the past. The older IMI's/plated/chromed guns are simply more highly desired/valued. That being said, I have not seen a factory two tone IMI, make sure it isn't a parts gun.

Empty mag seats just fine. Any other clues?

Apparently they are offering the aluminum framed ones to "select shooters" for close to $4,000 this Fall.

Who's jumping on that?

We used 10 Sig p250's in our rental fleet for a full year. 4 extractors on different guns broke during that time.
I can confirm the double action is 5-6lbs and consistent throughout. Surprisingly good. We used these guns in Beginner Pistol courses and most students had great success learning on them.

I have Grand Power P1 currently waiting for a call tag from Century for the barrel issues. I emailed them recently and also asked about the problems I have been having otherwise. I am getting consistent double feeds (2-3 times a mag). The magazine is also very difficult to fully seat, even with downloaded mags.
I read somewhere there is a new follower + spring design out there for the mags. Does anyone know if this could help cure some of the issues I am having? If so where does one find these components?
Thanks

As far as the experience:
E2 feels more solid in the hand for me (being one piece). I can now reach the DA trigger w/o issues. Texture also seems a bit grippier. Worth the upgrade IMO.

The Silver tubes absorb less heat and the heat shield kit is amazing at keeping the hand guard cool if you need it.
Michael1778 covered the main reasons we don't slot our tubes, but another one is the actual edges created by the slotting operation. Carbon fiber is not something you want to have unfinished edges for a variety of obvious reasons. There is no real benefit to the slots, but several increased risks.
I have seen three broken carbon fiber tubes, not ours and not PRI, that failed due to the stress concentrations created by slotting.
I can't find a listed weight for your handguards.

The main issue I have with my Noveskes is they don't shoot ball ammo that well. They shoot match well enough but I think it is something to do with the poligonal bore and the open base on the FMJ bullets. My JP shoots ball considerably better than my Noveske and the JP also shoots match better as well. The Noveske at its best has been a 1.05 moa gun with match bullets. The JP I have is .75 moa with match. With ball the JP is 1.5 to 2 moa while the Noveske is 2.5 moa to 3.5 moa.
I have 3 other friends who have had the same issue with their Noveske guns. Not a deal breaker but it sure makes shooting matches more expensive when you have to break out match bullets just to shoot pesky poppers at 100 yards.

What Noveske barrel models do you have?

From the video it looks like it's got a horribly long reset. Shooter's index finger kept going far forward after each shot.
Seems like that just a product of the shooter.

Never shot competition, from what I understand IDPA in ESP division is a good place to start. Any other suggestions?
So far the gun has:
Tacops magwell grips (stippled)
Uses 20rd Mec Gar mags
Can I get the slide lightened? Any feedback on whether or not this is a worthwhile mod?
What sights should/could I use?
What trigger work should/could I get done?
What factory ammo should I use?
Thanks in advance!

Many if my customers have told me they prefer the mega's over the vltors. One thing to keep in mind about their billet uppers, there my be some small clearance issues with certain hand guards ( I believe troy), but this is true of most billet uppers.

I would give it another try. Having no gap helps with grip repeatability for me and I notice more control

Always go by barrel stamping over product listing.
