  1. Tactical sports in .40 s&w are great for limited division, although they have kind of large grips. If you want to shoot in production division then the shadow in 9mm is the way to go. They have the better triggers since they don't have firing pin blocks in them like the other SP-01 models.

  2. So I have a SP01 shadow custom with the SRT and the safety is inop at times. In SA the lever will always go up into position but sometimes I can pull the trigger and make the hammer fall. Sometimes it will fall the 1st time the trigger is pulled, other times times I need to pull the trigger a few times to make the hammer fall. Do I just need a new safety or is there probably something else going on here?

  3. I have a Stoeger m2000 done up for 3gun and a Mossberg 930 sxp. I would take the stoeger over the 930 any day. The only thing I like better on the mossy is that the stock is shorter making it feel a little more natural when I square up with the gun. The stoeger is such a clean gun without a gas system that always needs to be cleaned.

  4. Don't see the point of a new division. If all you have is .40 production gun just shoot .40 minor. If you don't reload there is plenty of .40 minor ammo online if you look around. All that adding another division does is water down the competition in the current divisions

  5. The vast majority of USPSA members don't shoot major matches. Its like StraightUp_OG said, why buy a

uspsa membership if you don't shoot major if you cant classify and the local matches. There would be

no point to buying the membership and that would destroy the USPSA as a whole. You would only be buying the membership for the Frontsight Mag

  6. Pretty sure the tristar imports are Caniks. If you go to the canik55 website there are pictures in the slide show with Tristar stamped on the slides. There are others importing them under the Canik brand likes Buds Gunshop

  7. So you are saying that we should have to do away with everyone having the ability to see where they rank and only rank top tier competitors? If you are mostly only shooting local matches against the same people then how do you tell if you improving as time goes on after you get to the point were you are always winning the local matches?

As flawed as the current system may or may not be, when you look at the major match results for the most part people finish about where they should. There are always going to be a couple people finishing way higher or lower then they should no matter what knid of system you come up with.

  8. If that was the system then you could just shoot l10 at a few of the area matches that are in parts of the country that don't have mag restriction and most likely make GM. Area 5 last year only had 1 "B" class shooter and 1 "D" class shooter in l10. A "C" class shooter could easily win L10 and now he is a GM. You cant be classified more then 1 class down from you highest classification so now that "C" class shooter is a Master in all other divisions other then L10.

Such system would also make it so that the people that don't travel a lot and shoot big matches could never really classify. There are many parts of this country that in in order to get more then maybe 1 major in you will have to travel maybe 200-300 miles just to shoot a second major match in that year

  9. Another way to look at it is in 3gun you are pretty much using a USPSA limited gun, only shooting minor. If you are going to shoot a limited gun you might as well use the gun that rules the roost on the pistol side of things. A custom built 2011 is going to be far more accurate, heavier, and have a better trigger then any of the current poly guns ever will.

Is it needed to will 3gun matches? No, especially with time plus scoring. Then again, if you where good enough Im sure you could will most local club matches with an ak74 that has had some work done to it.
