  1. Spoke briefly with Nick at Rockcastle yesterday by phone. We did not discuss registration dates as listed at the website but he did say the internal preparation of registration forms and other match administrative materials were to be completed this week. Maybe they inadvertently shared this date on the site. Anyway, the registration forms should be up on the site in approximately two weeks and notices would be posted on the Rockcastle and 3-Gun Nation websites. He also stated the registration process would be the "Download form and mail in" format. He did mention the Rockcastle/Benelli match this last week had them a little backed up schedule wise. As big and as many matches as they're handling this year I guess I can understand somewhat. Just keep your eyes and browsers peeled for when the registration forms become available.
  2. Any more current information on US registration process and timing for this match. Rockcastle site gives the day plus other details and it's just three days from now. Do I need to have 3 computers all logged in ready to fire off a registration request like the Pro/Am, or will applications become availble for download that day and they take mailed in applications in order of their postmarks, or some other method? DId the discussion on this forum move somewhere else? Haven't seen a recent posting here considering how close the registration is. Just curious..........
  3. JRwest Specific to the title of your thread if you're looking for a match in the GA/TN/AL corner, the Cleveland Hunting Rifle & Pistol Club just outside Cleveland, TN runs a monthly 3-Gun Match almost on the Georgia/Tennessee line just east of Chattanooga. They started about eight years ago but in the last three years they haven't missed a scheduled match and have upgraded to the "IMGA" rules and scoring formats. In the last month or so they have completed their 3-Gun Nation Club Series registration and will start shooting classifier stages in the coming months. The club web site is not up to the minute but the match information and contact data is correct as well as directions to the club. Link is http://www.chrpc.com/3gun.htm
  4. The Albany, GA airport and Dothan, AL airport are almost equal distance to the match site so one or the other may have a better connection time for folks getting to a hub airport. Both are regional airports serviced only by Delta Connection flights to Atlanta so you takes your chances and I have a couple horror stories flying in and out of Albany after residing there for several years. Both places have similar numbers of restaurants and hotels but I find Dothan better laid out and easier to navigate. Columbus isn't a bad option with more air traffic and serviced by both Delta and American. The drive down is four-lane and 65 MPH nearly the whole way until south of Cuthbert, GA where some of the old two-lane sections are being converted to four-lane. You're almost to the match site at that point. Do watch out for the speed trap...I mean speed zone on US-27 in Lumpkin, GA. You don't even realize your "In" a municipality until you see the blue lights. Speeds are posted but you don't see the signs without noticing a change in the surrounding landscape. I've had good luck flying in and out of Tallahassee even before they installed the latest weather radar system. Sometimes though for the price and flight connections it is no worse to rent a vehicle at the Atlanta airport and drive to Blakely. A little over three hours will make the trip coming down I-85 south to I-185, on through Columbus and picking up US-27 south just outside Fort Benning.
  5. Mark, Hope to get my order in on the next run of tubes. I like the idea of the 8+ tube as there are still a couple matches out here with a hard limit of 8 for the Tac divisions. I'll just throw the original Nordic +4 extension back on for those that have brought their preload standards up to the new reality.
  6. Any tips on practicing for elevated position shooting when your stuck in flat land? And yes I tried but they made me pull down my deer stand attached to the side of the bench line cover structure on the 200 yard range at my home club. Thom
  7. Think they kept a car stage in just for us Jimmy?Maybe they'll feel generous and give us a Lincoln or CadillacI have put in a request for two LARGE cars.Thank goodness! Hopefully the front door windows go all the way down too.
