  1. DanM, thanks for the explanation of the murky laws of the left coast. Man that really sucks, the next generation of shooters from Cal. won't have the opportunity to compete on an equal footing with the rest of the country. It will serve the purpose intended of diminishing the ranks of the shooting public.

  2. Since Cal. kept the AWB aren't all the preban AR's still legal? I know guy's from Cal. that shoot AR's in 3 gun comp. I have talked to shooters from Massachusetts that also kept the ban and they can buy preban AR's. What is the story on this?

  3. I had shot this match for the last 4 years, didn't get in this year which didn't really bother me that much. It is a very expensive match to attend if you have to travel very far at all. I try not to think about how much I spend in match fees every year but some times it slaps you in the face when there are two or three that get sent in all at once (CMG multi gun team match, RM3G, and Benning all fell in the same week as far as me sending in the match fees) around $600.00 for the 3 matches. I'm not bitching about the fees as I know what it takes to put on one of these matches, but if we go to a what the market will bare type pricing for the top matches it will shrink the pool of shooters in the sport. The big matches are the infection agent for spreading the sport across the country. If you confine it to local shooters we all loose out on the benefit of disseminating the newest techniques, cool new gear and the latest diabolic target. For the good of the sport there needs to be a cross section of the country represented. Keith

  4. After about 2500 rounds mine did the same thing a couple of times. I replaced the intercepter latch spring with a stronger spring. I think I got it from Dave Neth's dad up in Idaho. Fixed the problem and it hasn't come back, be sure to put 50 to 100 rounds through it after the new spring just to check things out. Keith

  5. Having shot only a few of the precision rifle matches, and no Palma or NRA high power my experience is limited but I do know what I like. The CMG team match was a great experience and I look forward to shooting it again. What lites my fire is the unknown distance, target placement (finding the target) and doing all the other things that allow you to hit a target at 500 to a 1000 yd. under field conditions. Shooting from a manicured firing line at known distance targets is boring. There I've said it, hell I can do that in my backyard, and frequently do. I mostly shoot auto-loaders but have recently had Terry Cross massage a PSS for me to shoot in precision rifle matches. I'll shoot against auto's no problem, may get beat so what I'll try harder next time. All I really ask for is the opportunity to compete against other shooters on a some what level playing field, if I choose to handicap myself with my equipment choice that is my decision.

  6. Rich, I've got a Model 1 24" SS 1 in 8 twist varmint upper that I use to off Praire Rats. It is very accurate (1/2 moa). It has a .223 chamber which when hot will stick brass. Plan to have a NATO chamber reamer run into it so it won't stop running when the rats charge.

As for the AR-10 drop Benny a line and inquire about his concept, ever since I shot his at Arkansas 3 gun I want one. Keith

  7. EricW, thanks for answering Mike's question, your verbage was better than I would have come up with. It is amazing to see the effort going into this conflict. When I toured the Sierra plant and saw a large pallet of 77 gr. SMK's with a cannelure that was bound for Black Hills and on to Afghanistan from there, it impressed upon me the determination and resolve it takes to succeed in this war. When you talk with the AMU guys and they are testing in competition what will work on the battlefield, makes you feel part of the effort. Guess I can put up with some inconveniences if it helps off some of the bad guys. Keith

  8. Reloading .223 is not my favorite past time but with the rising cost of even marginal ammo approching $200.00/1000 I have decided to reload even my hoser ammo. Picked up 3000 55 gr. Win. FMJ @ $45.00/1000 with powder and primers that would be around $120.00 per 1000 for decent quality ammo. You'll be able to find me in the reloading room.

Trapr, quit polluting the range brass pool with all that Wolf and Fed. brass. Keith
