  1. Hi Trapr

After watching the Open shooters at ESC 09 its very clear that the Open guns are now a world apart from the tube technology, large capacity mags like the Max-Rounds drum mag are all working well & stage times for the Open shooters were smokin fast.

This is a video of stage 2 at ESC 09 which was a 14 round course & included one target that moved right to left.

Shooting is Vaclav Vinduska the eventual Open Division winner his time was 14.49

for comparision the best time in Standard was from Roberto Vezzoli at 17.10

the best time in Standard Manual was by Bostjan Pavlic at 20.08

Only Modified Division that required no loading was anywhere close at 16.67

Even the pump shooters loading from their chest rigs 2 & 4 at a time were fast & out loaded us on many of the stages, I can see some new loading styles coming into play in the UK before next season.

Here is my best run from the same day as Jon's, we didn't get it any faster than 3.55

We have also done this drill while moving forward a distance of 5M as Benny suggested & the times were virtually the same, however lateral 5M movement did add something like an extra .5 to .75 to the times, will get some more video next time.

Hope to see you soon mate.

  2. Which is the new and which is the old?

Also, could you post the full photo of the lightened bolt please? It certainly looks interesting.

    Kind regards

    Mick

    Hi Mick

  4. Trapr,

He believes the tube magazine fed SGs will rule the roost! He said he will test more tonight after work.

    RLTW,

    Scott

Tube guns will win easy, last year we had a stage that loaded from a bucket in the Scotish Champs, a couple of guys with box mags tried the stage once the match was over, just so we could see the difference & they were way behind the regular tube guns with loose ammo from a bucket.

Let them have a fully loaded mag in the bucket & the tables will be turned somewhat, thats why IPSC rules put them in Open only, I think it will cause you some arguments.

you could always limit the number of rounds they can have loaded to 4 in each mag to match up with the number of shells the weak handers grab in order to even it up a bit.

    but good luck amigos :P

  5. ANOTHER FYI......if anyone has the old style tubes (thread dia on both ends is equal).....all you need to do is send it back to us and we replace it free of charge. This affects only the 12 gauge tubes btw.

    Tim

I have one of those tubes, however after two hard years competition use its still as good as new, I also run an early version of your clamp & see no reason to change it so far, I will keep the tube I have & thanks again for a great product & your continued support for the shooting sports.

  6. I run a 24" barrel on my M2, the Nordic +6 is a 1/2 inch short on my barrel & works good.

I would like Tim at Nordic to make an end cap thats twice as long as the current one because that way I could get another round in my gun with the spring that I run without adding the amount of length past the muzzle that my +7 tube adds on & would only be 1/2 inch longer than the gun.

    N

CPWSA is carrying the new Nordic extended cap. Is that one not quite long enough for you?

I bet Tim is at Ft Benning right now, might even have one of them in his pocket or there abouts. Mike 45 is there too. Any posibility?------------Larry

I know Mike sent me a few sms messages only last week to rub salt into the wound :(

I have some on the way now, so its all good. :D

Thanks again for the info guys.

  9. I keep the SG shouldered, but lower the muzzle a little, and roll the gun a lilttle to get a better visual on the port.

I do just that with my M2 & supernova, but lower the muzzle to about 45 degrees, I run normal stocks on both guns, the loading port gets closer to the belt which also helps I find.

it works good & eliminates the time taken to re-shoulder the gun.

  10. Just don't leave 30 minutes early for the return trip home, you know how it throws a spanner in the plans of others.......... :roflol:

See you there brother, if not sooner.

    trapr

Mike works better when given a little adversity to deal with :roflol:

Im certain this will be another good euro match, Im looking at shooting pump division this time around but time will tell, I need to improve a little on my German Open score first.

  11. it looks like I'll have a B-day party in Czechia???????

    trapr

    Trapr

Then I will be seeing you at the bar for a B-day beer amigo !

the range looks good & held the 2004 Euro handgun Champs, the guys there know how to put on a match, your man benelli2 has been there a while back & took a medal so will have all the low down for you.

Im looking at hotels right now & prices look good, I plan a day or two in Prague on the way home.

September 09 should be a good month.:D

  12. I will let someone else start a poll to take a vote on this question now that we have a second.

As to mandatory reloads and airsoft, I too want to know how the voting went or is going.

My feelings are NO to Airsoft and a qualified Yes and No on Mandatory reloads. In Production for IPSC I think it will open up the field to a lot more guns. Right now 9mm hi-capacity is all that need apply IPSC. Here in the USPSA we have a capacity limit in Production that works. If IPSC were to vote for a mandatory reload in Production, then I would support removal of the capacity rule in USPSA. I understand IPSC's aversion to a capacity limit so mandating a reload after the first shot and before engaging the last target makes the game (and it is a Game) more fair and open to more guns without sacrificing freestyle. I would be against this in Open, Modified and Limited/Standard as we really have a fairly stable capacity and a wide selection of available guns in those divisions.

The Mandatory reload proposal was rejected.

  13. it just pisses me off that have spent an absolute fortune on what is suppose to be the THE shotgun to have, that it is basiclly a $2000 paper weight...

    Ian

I do know how that feels because my Browning Gold was just the same, although that was not because I wanted to fit a PG stock, & I lost over £800 on that gun by the end, we are just having a bit of fun & only pulling your leg, a Benelli is the only thing to have & Kurt & Mike will work it out for you im sure, then you guys with the same wrist problem can all be happy together :P

    Stay cool dude.

  14. Removal of the IPSC-Metric target

    Jim

    Jim

    From Bali

With effect from the January 2009 Edition IPSC Rulebooks, the target currently designated as the IPSC Metric Target be retired and no longer be an authorized target.

    edit,

The Metric target is now history. The Classic target has been renamed The IPSC Standard Target.

  15. YES MIKE....it was you in the top 10, the sole P.G. shooter....YOUR SOOOO GOOOD!!! :D

Mike in the words of JD 2nd or further down the result sheet is "nowhere" in case you have forgotten, thats why I dumped the Browning for a Benelli with a straight stock just as the good lord intended & Im now much happier :P:lol:

    See ya soon buddy. B)

  16. Well, we are going to do a tune-up for the 2010 Pan American to work out some kinks. I still don't have the finalized date/location for the Pan Am, but here is the test-run Level III we are doing in Brighton, Michigan. It will be up on the USPSA site in a couple of days as well. It will be 8 stages of scattergun action with all IPSC rules being followed. PRH is our rangemaster, and Yours Truly will be puttin' it together. I will have stages, and an electronic matchbook up by September 1st of next year, and applications should be available after the first of the year.

    DVC,

    Jeff

    Hi Jeff

Good luck with this, It's a bit too close to the ESC 09 for me to attend both matches but im looking forward to the upcoming Pan Am match so role on 2010.

  17. +1 On the Supernova, once the lifter is in the up position it stays up & helps to funnel the rounds in, the huge port is hard to miss, I load 4 weak handed & its way faster than other guns I have used.

I have to have a 24" barrel by law & a Nordic +5 tube is flush with the barrel, with this I have fitted a standard Browning gold spring, its a very soft spring & yet the gun still works great, Its ease of loading helped me win the British Championship in our pump division this year so Im very happy with it.

Also the Supernova has the comfortec stock which I like a lot.
