  1. Hi all.. Is the shadow target with adjustable rear sight idpa legal?. I would like to be sure due the recent problem with the ACCU shadow being ilegal for idpa. the target has the slide machined for this rear sight.. so is it a factory part from cz-ub /usa or a work done by CZC only..? i would like to avoid any issue with all that crap from idpa HQ.. thanks PS: I think I have seen somewhere a factory sp-01 shadow with factory adjustable rear sight but cant find it to confirm.

    SP-01 custom shadow mods?

well.. I did install the type 1 disco..and it didnt worked as I expected. I remove a little of the disco, and FPBL.. (I got a spare FPBL just in case). the reset was still long.. what help me a little bit was to remove from the foot of the FPBL.. now the reset is around 3.8mm using the type 2 disco.. with he type 1 it was like 4 - 4.2.. even with the stock disco is 3.8mm. I dont want to remove more from the FPBL because it might not engage properly the FPB and wont hit the primer.. what I'm thinking is the disco will hold back the trigger bar..to reset the trigger the trigger bar has to travel from the way back until it slide all the FPBL base..there is when you feel the "clic" of the reset. I think I'm knowing better this platform, I will keep it this way for now. any input will be appreciated. thanks

    SP-01 custom shadow mods?

yes, I have the RP-TRS.. it helps. atlas.. lecture me a little bit to understand it better so, you remove a little from the top of those areas..and not on the rear/edge area. how that help?I would like to get it. I thought removing from the rear area, (as shown on yellow) could help. when releasing the trigger, that area slide under the FPBL. until the end,. then the T/Bar pop up . so, I was thinking if you remove a little of metal in that area it might shorten the reset but might add some pre-travel as well..(I may me wrong) (sorry I used your picture, let me know and I will delete it) thanks
  4. Hi guys. I have a sp-01 standard with safety.. the stock trigger is awful, so I will be doing some trigger job.. polish, replace springs.... there shouldnt be any problem with that nor with the CZ custom competition hammer drop in.. but the standard sp-01 has a long reset.. is it legal to modify or change the disconnector in order to get a reduced reset distance? the DA will or should be remain the same.. but the SA reset can be shorter and may change the SA rest position. ( I dont wanna do any change if it is not legal) for SSP there should not be any problem because you start hammer down...no external visible modification..(let me know if I'm wrong) but for ESP. is it legal? I start C&Locked. it should be close to the sp-01 shadow..there won't be any screw do adjust it, neither internal or external. thanks
  5. I found this, what looks like you can start cocked and locked with a DA/SA: please let me know if I'm wrong and what I'm missing here. Quote Quote
  6. I found this on the rule book, so I guess one can start C&L as emjei says: so I guess that apply even for the CZ.. This is one of the thread I found before.. not sure if it not updated or I am missing something.. http://www.brianenos.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=176126&hl=%2Bcz+%2Besp+%2Bhammer+%2Btrigger#entry1946741 thanks
  7. Hi guys. I have a sp-01 with some upgrades.. one of them is the CZC competition hammer. shooting ssp hammer down or ESP cocked and locked.. but after doing some research I'm more confused.. 1) is the CZC comp hammer legal in a sp-01 standard (safety) NO the shadow?. I think it is but I want to be sure before going to any major match and get DQ. 2) On ESP can I start cocked and locked? I'm a little bit confused after reading other post here in the forum... and as the rules has changed this year I dont know if some information from previous year is no longer valid.. Thanks

    SP-01 custom shadow mods?

H Atlas.. from what part of the trigger bar should I remove/fit?.. I guess it is from the side It contact the FPBL.. but at the rear edge?just at the point where the FPBL last touch the t/bar when reset? if I get that reset as your video.. would be it legal for IDPA ESP? (anyone who can confirm that.) thanks

    SP-01 custom shadow mods?

thanks again atlas.. I used your post and others as well to do my trigger job.. very helpful... I think next thing will be type 1 disco as you say. I read your guide but still dont have it very clear from where in the trigger bar I have to remove. as you say, the factory shadow need trigger job, but I'm mean the CZ sp-01 shadow custom from CZC.. 2014 (which include the ext FP, pre-b disco) thanks
  11. Hi guys.. I have a SP-01 standard with some trigger work and parts from cgw... DA #4.8 -5, SA #2.6 comp hammer,, springs, ext FP, SRS with type 2 disco.. I really like it.. the only thing I dont like is the long reset..(after the shot, if I release the finger slowly, is long, like 4.5+mm until you hear/feel the clic) I compared it to a shadow and it was like half mine and really like.. if I get a sp-01 shadow custom 2014.... is there need to modify it to get the same trigger as the standard sp-01? I know I can swap the hammer spring for #11.5. what should be the trigger pull with it? #3 SA ? . if I have to expend more money on it I will think it twice. thanks

SP 01 Shadow vs SP 01?

Hi Atlas.. is the video from a sp-01 standard with safety? I cant see very well but looks like a 75B SA, dont know if it the same trigger as the sp-01 and with FPB.. could you explain a little bit what mods you did to the disco and the trigger bar and block lifter? (besides the nice polish work).. I used the type 2 disco but the reset is longer, I would like to get to a similar reset as your cz.. as I understand the sp-01 with safety should use the type 2 disco and srs from cgw.. one other question.. what works can be done to a sp-01 shadow (if necessary) to get a very similar trigger (beside the reset that is short from factory) thanks
  13. thanks for the help. I already replaced the sights with ez/d. HS, RS. last night did the ext FP / FP spring, FPB spring and polish the FPB.. I still have to install the SRS2 and the type 2 disconnector and was thinking on ordering/installing the czc comp hammer at once as I have to dissasembly the pistol anyway looks like the CZC comp hammer is a good improvement, but I dont know how and why this help. ????.. ( I've been more of a g...k shooter). is it hard to install the czc comp hammer with the factory sear?. I'm thinking on getting the adjustable sear from CGW as it should make it easier. thanks
  14. SP-01 standard, no shadow. I would like to install the CZC comp rear(not sure about the notch width yet, .125?) . but I'm not sure about the F.O front. the czc front should be a 6mm high. what would be the POA/POI, (I shoot 147gr). are these easy to install or do I need to drill? the Dawson looks good, not need to drill or filling.. what height would match the czc comp rear? not idea about the CGW sights. thanks
  15. Thanks for all the replies and help. I got my mew cz sp-01 . The DA trigger pull is heavy and long, the SA no too bad, it is similar to the trigger pull on my glock gen4 . As I shoot idpa and production i would like to do some modifications and still keep it legal. I shoot 147gr most of the times(my reloads) . Can i use the 11# recoil spring and 13# main spring without having any issues? Is the hammer hard to change? Can i use one from czc or cgw and keep it idpa/uspsa legal? I would like to change the grips because i cant reach the trigger on DA too easy. Or can the trigger rest moved a litle to the rear? I still need to keep reading to get familiar with all the modifications for the cz'S Is there any kit ready to go I can order from czc or cgw? I dont want to order something, pay for the shipping and then get to order more things and pay again for shipping Thanks for all the input
  16. it sounds good, is it that hard to do by myself? looks like I might save some $$$$. I'm not that much of a handyman.. I'm not looking for the best trigger either. with those modification is the pistol still legal for IDPA SSP/ESP and production?
  17. Hi guys. I have been reading about these CZs. I would like to get the sp-01 shadow but looks like it is hard to find nowdays or wait many weeks or some months. Few days ago i went to the LGS and they had a sp01 standard. Pretty heavy the trigger . So yesterday i was wondering how much will cost to do some upgrades. I shoot idpa and uspsa, B shooter I've reading a lot on the forum and the main difference seems to be the FPB that at the end is gonna have 1 or 2 mm more in the reset. With a fiber front sight and fixed black rear is enough for me.( regarding the sights) Now regarding the trigger is what i would like to improve. How much will cost get some parts from CgW ? I've read difference oponions of people saying to go with the shadow and some others saying it is gonna be cheap upgrade a standard sp-01. And that they have the shadow and if they have to start over again they will get the standard and then upgrade. Any advice? Thanks

    PF and OAL,

Hi guys. I'm new to reloading, and has been loading bayou 147gr FP with 3.0 gr of Titegroup.I have a glock 34 Last weekend I tested some of my bullets with a chrono. Here is the thing.. I was loading at 1.130 - 1.133. due different cases I use, sometimes I get 1.136-1.138 OAL. I put them in a different bag. At the chrono with the 1.130-1.132 I got from 869-880 fps, that is around 129pf.. but with the bullets @ 1.136+ 1.138 I got 904 -910 fps What I understand is that with larger OAL there is less pressure , so you could go below the 125 pf limit..I dont know if I'm wrong ,misunderstand the theory or what. is it ok to get higher fps with larger OAL? , I thought it should be the other way around.. Thanks
  19. Hi guys. I'm left eye dominant and right handed. I shoot pistol right handed and it is not an issue.(using my left eye) I got an AR-15 to and will be getting a shotgun to get into 3 guns. (I.m new to long guns) I'm using a red dot (primary arms) with the rifle and I'm getting used to get the RDS using my right hand /right eye. but when I get the shotgun how can I do? I was thinking on trying to learn to handle the AR left handed. actually I can see more clearly if I use the AR with my left hand. so, I am looking for some advice on how should I do or how people with crosseye dominance do. Things that make me think if I get learn to use left hand is, 1- transitions from AR (with sling) to pistol ?, it is more complicated than using my right hand? 2- reloads, where to place the mag pouchs, right side of my hip thanks
  20. Hi guys. I'm in the market to buy a STI EDGE soon. I have been reading a comparing some custom works or not so custom, like brazos, akai, DP, camerons... and an stock STI EDGE. the thing is I could get a stock sti edge for around $1800 and I dont konw how much I will have to spend for a trigger job, smooth internal parts, sight, ice magwell, to be ready for competition. or if it is better to get the brazos HP STI edge ($2600) or the DP CRP(the DP doesnt has a trigger job). I dont care about any slide custom works. If buying a stock EDGE + improvements is gonna be aoutb the same price as a let say a brazos HP, I would go with this one. Thanks
  21. thanks for the answer guys. what are the main differences/advantage between the executive, aperio, edge, legend etc.. I know the eagle has a shorter DC, bushing barrel.. some others looks alike.. A local guy has a Millenium custom, black, grip stipple, FO, , curved trigger, 4 mags for $2800. not sure if try to get a better price or go with the DP CRP, hard chrome for 2340$.. plus mags.. should be around 2900$.. for a new gun. thanks again
  22. Hi guys. I have been shooting for few years IDPA/USPSA prod. First I was thinking of a gun for both but in that case only the STI eagle could be use in both games. Now I am more toward the STI Edge for USPSA limited. I see the STI styles custom guns at least from akai start in $2900. I really dont care about a complete custom gun with cuts in the slide, super nices style fancy stuffs, etc. the only reason I would like to go with a STI is because the weight for the recoil and trigger. Dawson P. has a STI edge hard chrome , fiber optic, I guess a trigger work as well, for $2340. I think it is pretty similar to the HP STI EDGE from brazos. basically my question is what advantages do I get with a complete custom STI style?rather than a DP CPR STI edge. and even over a stock STI EDGE. Thanks

    Glock Annoucement?

I have been reading about... everything looks like it will be a glock forum... "not just a forum" they said.... many people was waiting for some single stack 9mm... but a lot of people seem disappointed..
  24. I went to the range this weekend.. I tried my 13# with stock striker/s and 0 issue with my reloads and some factory ammo
  25. Hi.. I just got my glock 34 gen4. I ordered a jager polymer guide rod and a 13lb ismi RS... I ordered a wolff competition spring kit to replace the trigger spring. I shoot reloads 147 gr, 132 or 135PF (I just buy it) the thing is, I dont know it I should replace the striker spring (with a 4lb spring) as well or can keep it stock...
