  1. I'm just coming from an uspsa and the range... I bought my g34 gen4 yesterday and shoot it today at the match... around 80 rounds there and 0 issue. I shoot today 124gr reloads. These reloads are JHP.. not sure if with FMJ will happen the same.(I dont made it) I havent replaced anything in the gun. I have been training with captain of crush 1.5.. Then I went to the range to fire more rounds...everything was fine until I shoot weak hand only.. I got several FTF... I could think I was limp wristing but I have been shooting idpa for a while, 7000+ rounds with my m&p9 and 4000 with my glock 19 gen 4... some stages we shoot weak hand only.. and never had any issue with that. actually yesterday I shoot my glock 19 gen4 with the same reloads and 0 issue with that. weak hand only as well I didnt try factory reloads weak hand only today, I ran out of it when I had the problem. If I grip it very very tight then it shoot without problem, but I had to be conscious about gripping it tighter. strong hand only 0 issues. so dont know what I'm gonna do.. anyways my plan is to get another guide rod and 13# recoil spring. I dont know if leave it slide lock for 1 week, would help with it.. I think these are the corrects model I should order, right? Guide rod (polymer to be able to shoot it in IDPA as well) Spring
  2. Hi guys... I have a m&p 9 FS for idpa expert and uspsa Production... It has apex hard sear and usb. 2 months ago I finally replaced the front sight with 10-8 FO. after that, I improved a lot. I have been doing well in my local matches. I shoot lower 147gr reloads, it helped me as well. Now, I dont know which could be the next step.. I was thinking about changing the recoil spring.I'm using the factory R/S. After firing, when the gun return to battery it hit a little harder causing the front to move slightly (to the right) and it sometimes affect the accuracy. so I was thinking about getting a 13. 15# r/s. or just maybe should I grip better/harder my gun ? thanks
  3. Hi guys... I am getting a glock 34 gen4 in the next few days.. the first thing is to replace the crappy factory sights...I have been reading and searching about the glock FO sights for the glock and some issues with the POA and POI, sometimes high at 4".... I am thinking on dawson /P or warren tactical... as I have a m&p with FO front, with POA/POI I dont have to worry about aiming at 6 o clock.. so I would like the glock to be the same o very close at least . should the front sight be .235 or .245? what height for the rear?.. if I get POA/POI at 25 yards , how does this affect a closer distance? 5 -15 yards?
  4. Hi guys.. I am thinking about buying a g34 gen4.. I have a g19 gen4 and really like the grip texture, size and mag release.. my hands are small so if I pick a gen19 gen3(or any other gern3) it is kind of hard to hit the mag release. that is why I and leaning toward the g34 g4. but the thing is ,I am getting more into the "game" mode.. I shoot idpa(expert in my way to master) and now I shoot more uspsa. so I would like to take advantage of shooing minor PF or low reloads. going to some states matches with long shots, etc... Could I without many complications set up the gen4? it is well known that you can find everything for gen3 and keep it reliable... but what about the gen4? what about the jager guide rod and a 13# recoil spring? (for idpa ssp and pro) is there a big difference between a g19 and g34 if I am no shooting low reloads? at least at 25/30 yards?, beside the long barrel and sight radius for long shots?
  5. is the g34s factory trigger spring 5 or 6lbs?
  6. Thanks for the advice. I will rent and shoot a g21 gen4 if I can. is there any chance IDPA change some "rules" and allow .40 major in CDP?
  7. Hi guys.. I have been reading about Fiber optics sights for the glock.. but at least warren T and 10-8 seems to be .215 and up... is there any particular reason for that? I am thinking about getting a glock 34 and the 1st thing will be replace the sights... dont know which height to pick. if something similar to the factory dimension or taller. any advice?
  8. Hello guys. I have been shooting idpa for a while, I shoot my m&p9 FS in SSP and ESP. I dont have any .45 and I would like to get one for CDP. But no sure which one.. I have a g19 gen4 as well and really like the grip and size for my small/medium hands and extended mag release. I have read many may good reviews about the m&p45. the thing is I've been struggling or fighting the grip with my m&p9 while shooting fast. I think I can have a better grip with the glock for speed shooting (even though the m&p feel betters in my hand). many people says the recoil between the m&p45 and a 1911 is similar, or at least the m&p45 manage it pretty well. what about the glock 21 or even better the g21 gen4?
  9. I got new mags, they were cheap, 19.99$ each... I had an uspsa match and 0 issue using reloads, and an idpa match.. 0 issues, reloads again... I received news spring for my olders mags, I dont see so much difference between the older springs and news one... maybe if I go to the range I will try some wwb again..
  10. I have a FS 9, and thinking in upgradeing to the pro. When you guys say it is night and day difference, what do you mean.? Less Recoil? Less muzzle flip, or more acurate after 25 yards shots? Thanks
  11. Hi guys. I own a g19 gen 4 , i like it and use it for idpa, i am ssp expert and shoot producction unclassified. I shoot some reloads of 147gr with stock recoil spring, - connector and replaced the trigger spring. With this reloads i feel less muzzle flip. The g19 fit my hand very well, i dont have problem while reloading at all. Now the thing is should upgrade to the 17 /34 or keep my 19 for a while. I prefer a shorter slide, i think i shoot and track the sights better with it. I dont know yet what my classification is, maybe if i were a class A or master a glock 17 or 34 could help more. Probably i am B or C shooter. The local matches where i go usually shoot at 5, 10 15 yards and sometimes 20. Is there any good advantages for upgrading in my conditions? Maybe if i shoot minor pf the g34/17 could help more and in long shots. Any advice?
  12. I know exactly what you mean. I have the same problem with my m&p and have been "fighting" the grip.. you can try some grip tape, something no too thing, I got 3M saftey walk and now I can get a better grip. I used to have the medium and small back strap but switching to the big helped me. my slide at front has some play as well, to the left and right, like 1mm...
  13. thanks guys. today at lunch I removed the slide and inserted a snap cap, I noticed the bullet is no so tight, it is kind of loose, if I push a little bit toward the right side of the slide, it fell out. I am waiting for some mags spring and try it with WWB and other brands... I wouldnt like to be sending my gun to S&W, I have the apex dcaek, so I will have to remove it...unless I send it to apex(+shipping), plus I am about to replace the sights, the front sight is very tigh.t I will try myself but if I have to pay that is like $$25/35+ so let see what happen..
  14. Hey guys.. I have around 6k rounds in my m&p 9 (2 years with the gun).. I use it for competition and range time, so the mags are no loaded all time.. and in IDPA you only load 10 rounds. since 2 or 3 months ago I started to have some failure to feed issues. usually it happen with the last 2 rounds. once It was a failure to eject or double feed, there was a brass stuck in the chamber with a another round under it.. I was using WWB, and federal other times. last saturday I got a failure to feed, I had to remove the mag, reinsert it, tap the mag , the slide and finally clear the chamber(a live round)...the mag had 3 rounds total. when I clean my gun I clean the inside part of the extractor, sometimes it get full residue gunpowder.. 2 weeks ago I cleaned my mags too. I will number my mags to see if it happen only with one.. when should I replace the mags spring? I ordered 3 extra mags but I would like to replace the spring on my currents mags... should I remove and clean the extractor? could this be a mag problem or extractor?
  15. thanks, I would check it out too. I found this in other site.. so, the thing is, can I buy a dawson, warren or 10-8 front sight only .160 tall x .115 or .110 width and use it with the factory rear sights.? the light bar would be .030 for the .110 width... or .040 with .100 or .025 with the .115.. is the .030 - .040 a good combination for light bar? and speed shooting? thanks
  16. Hi guys.. I would like to get some dawson precision FO sights and rear for my m&p9 FS.. but there are several sights with different wide/tall .. what are the factory measures of the m&p? I would like to replaces them with something similar in height/wide, so I dont have to adjust my grip. and of course a thin fiber optic, maybe .100.. I dont have a vice, neither space.. would this be so hard to replace the front sight with a hammer and brass punch ?(I have removed the rear sight before so it is not a problem) what combination rear/front is similar to the factory sights. how wide is the rear notch?
  17. thanks guys, I appreciate it. in the other hand I have been reading about recoil springs.. but, how far can I go using the factory R/spring? i would like to shoot 147 gr of a friend at idpa, I know he do good reloads, a lot of people use it and 0 complain. not sure what PF yet, but I know these are a "soft load".. today I shoot some 135gr of other friend, it was a very soft shoot. but do I need to replace the the R/S? I shoot more idpa than uspsa (twice a month uspsa ) I have read one should change the RS if you are shooting reloads with less power than factory loads and I have read you dont have to change the R/S in the m&p unless you get trouble like returning to battery,etc.. and for example if I shoot 147gr and feel less recoil/muzzle flip with factory spring.. if I change the recoil spring ,would I feel even less muzzle flip? or i would not feel any difference unless I go with minor pf ? thanks
  18. Hi guys... I have a m&p9 FS (apex kit installed)and I have been more into the game idpa/uspsa ( SSP expert) .. I was thinking about getting a glock 34 because sometimes I feel a better grip with my glock 19 gen4. but the thing is today I rented a glock34 gen3.. shoot it side by side with my m&p FS (they didnt have the mp pro for rent) , I shoot factory ammo 115 and 124 gr.. and really I didnt feel any big difference in muzzle flip/recoil for a better sight acquisition during rapid fire. maybe the m&p is just a little bit more snappy but not that much for expend 600+ in a g34. I know recoil is something subjective but I would like to know your thoughts. maybe it is just me. the next think I would like is install FO sights and shoot reloads.. thanks
  19. Hi guys.. I own m&p FS 9.. and have been using it for IDPA and sometimes USPSA. It has the apex hard sear and USB.. the trigger is around 3.8 - 4.2..it is very good but the reset... I own a g19 too.. sometimes I think I shoot the glock 19 gen4 better than the mp. in the last months I have been more into the "game" so I have been thinking about buying a g34 or m&p Pro but is there any good advantage with the long slide/ 5" barrel of the PRO/g34? at IDPA we usually shoot at 7 -15 yards.. sometimes 20 and almost never 25.. but what about the recoil/muzzle flip with the m&p PRO or g34..? is there any advantage with the "5 barrel? I have read that the advantage of the Pro is a better stock trigger but as I already have the apex parts,I dont know if it worth getting the pro o glock 34... the good think about the g34 is it is ready out the box..good trigger, reset, you only have to change the sights and it is not as complicated as it is with the m&p.. but then again I dont know if it (g34) has any good advantage over the FS... the reason I think about the g34 is with the m&p I have been fighting the grip for rapid fire...while with the glock 19 doing rapid fire the front size rise and come back on target ready to pull the trigger again..my support hand fit the left side of the grip very good/very flat and I feel a better control than with the m&p, with it the front size usually is a little bit to the left so the follow shots go to the left. any advice? thanks
  20. Hi guys. I have a m&p9 and a glock 19 gen4. I usually dont carry concealed but I go to IDPA and have gone twice to uspsa and I like it. I can see many people shooting really fast at uspsa.. I want to improve a little bit my speed. so, here come the problem.. I know it is not about double tap or just pull the trigger fast, I have read many post in this forum. and it is about calling the shoots, seeing fast, When I shoot I try to get a proper grip like this picture(this pic isnt mine so I will post the link) armedtexan.files.wordpress.com/2010/06/shootingthstraight.jpg?w=450&h=373 (from this web page armedtexan.wordpress.com/ ) when I shoot I try to dont blind and get a good sight picture and wait for the front sight to be in place to shoot again(after getting the 2nd sight pic), but... after each shoot the front sight move a little bit to the left(after recoil), so I have to align it again and I lost some time there.. I am left eye dominant and right handle... The shoot hit where I see, the problem is not about the hits go to the left.. the problem is after, with the recoil and muzzle flip.. so, should I do more pressure with my left hand?.. How tight or how much pressure should I do with both hands? I see some people shooting where the gun almost doesnt move, just a little bit because of the slide.. any advice? Thanks, and sorry for my not pretty good english..
