  1. with lead bullets would i have to lube them up to shoot them? and are "hard cast" more preferable over a softer lead?
  2. i had the same problem with 9mm dillon sizing die on my L-N-L. I got the Lee factory crip die and it solved all my case sizing problems. can be had for less than $20 and well worth it. i still use the dillon sizer but the Lee factory crip die has a carbide sizing ring in it that sizes as it crips. solved my feeding issues in my glocks and kahrs when using range brass.
  3. Hi every one, I just acquired a Ruger GP100 i am planning on shooting for SSR in IDPA next year. I have begun to start researching load data and put together a load that is fairly accurate and fairly soft shooting. I have a ton of Tightgroup sitting around that i use for my 9mm loads, so it would be nice to use the same powder, but im not opposed to switching. So, if some of the revo vets wouldnt mind sharing your pet loads or pointing me in the right direction on what powder/bullet weight to use i would be awfully appreciative. I am getting some trigger work done and having the cylinder chamfered, would it be best to use a round nose bullet over a wad cutter? i am planning on running comp-III's. thanks in advance.

    Holster for P30

I have a blade tec belt holster for my P30L for IDPA use. for carrying, i stick it in a Crossbreed Super tuck IWB holster. both are very comfortable, but if your looking to OC i would definitely get some sort of retention.
  5. EDIT: was not my call, i was SOing with the assistant match director. the shot landed very near the 10ft rule. needless to say the shooter took it as a learning experience and stayed the rest to the day to soak up more.
  6. I recently became a SO for our local IDPA group. What a decision, i definitely view the sport in a new light. But, i also just experienced my first AD on El Presidente. On the buzzer, the shooter turned, drew his weapon and touched off a round about 10 feet in to the ground in front of me. Scared the Sh!t out of me. We had to DQ him but he was very understanding. Luckily he had made his turn and drew his .45 safely. Just a friendly reminder to keep your booger hooker off the bang switch until your on target.
  7. Some things i have picked up on: - speed is more important that shot placement to a certain point. if you drop a few -1's every once in a while its ok, but if your hitting all zeros your going to slow. - weight or Barny mag in the gun side pocket work, keys, weight too - really thing about how your going to shoot, where your going to reload and how - most stages are set up so there is not alot of room to be "creative" at least where i shoot. On a side note, my match director likes to add in "gaiming" elements. - dry fire practice is a must, along with both reloads - weak hand/strong hand shooting - I like to shoot towrds the back of the pack to watch other shooters - get in a squad with shooters who are better than you, they will push you and give you good advice on how to become faster - reload my loads just creep over power factor and it does make a difference.
  8. i just started reloading 9mm. my first load i worked up was 124gr zero bullets (i found most of the bullets to be between 124.5gr and 124.7gr as well) with 4.1g of tightgroup with a col of 1.13. i am using winchester small pistol primers. i took them out to test them in about 30 degree weather. between my P30 and USPc i was able to get about 2 in groups at 10 yards, i had a couple of flyers but i think it was my fault. to me, recoil was similar to federal champion ammo if not slightly less. i also ran a few through my g17 and got decent results for just getting the gun and having next to zero trigger time.
  9. thanks for the info. i limited to either plated or jacketed bullets as my barrels are all polygonal.. im leaning towards using 124gr zero bullets to start for now, just got to order my dies so i can start reloading
  10. Hi all I am new to this forum and reloading (at least 9m) I have been doing a bunch of research and i think im going to start off using titegroup and zero/berry's bullets. I have been looking for loading data and come up a bit short on that end. i have some titegroup and am looking to get either zero or barry's 115gr and or 124 gr bullets and im looking for a starting point to make a up a few batches on my new press. thanks in advance
