Can you elaborate on what makes the 21" more reliable than the 24"

After reading these forums, i went with the FN SLP MK 1, and i couldnt be more happy. Now time to save up for the modifications

i was thinking of the SX3, but i cant seem to find the 24" barrel version anywhere. The shortest barrel ive seen is 26, unless you want a rifled barrel. If you have alink where i can get a winchester sx3 with a 24" barrel please let me know. Im also aware of the SX2 for $650 at cabelas, but im in california and we dont have any Cabelas here. I tried calling one fo the stores and seeing if they will ship to a local FFL they said no. So im out of luck with that one.

So i had in mind to get a Benelli M2. Today i went out with a friend who has a SLP MK 1 and the Benelli M2. I was suprised on how less of a recoil i noticed with the SLP mostly im guessing due to being gas operated. After shooting both guns next to each other i decided to get a SLP. One question i have (which i asked my friend, and he wasnt sure) so i came to the forums. I will be ordering the 24inch barrel from FN, because this will be my all around shotgun for hunting, clay shooting and soon in competition. I was wondering if there was anyway to take the magazine extension out of the FN SLP and close the mag Tube at the end of the forearm. I basically want to take the FN SLP and make it look like the SX3 when i need to for hunting, and switch it back for other needs.

thanks for the replies. I know looks dont count, but i figure if im going to setup my only shotgun for competition and im getting ready to spend around $1500, why not get it setup the way i like. That benelli in the link, looked exactly on how i would like to set mine up.

Im looking into getting a Benelli M2 21" barrel. I will be using a modified flush choke. My question is. Is there a magazine extension that will be flush with the barrel. I dont like the look of a barrel or magazine extension past the other. I want the flush look. All your feedback would be appreciated. Pictures will be greatly appreciated.
