  1. If I am remembering correctly;

The first year of the Single Stack Division (Provisional) you were classified at your highest classification.

The second year of the Single Stack Division (Provisional) you were classified at your highest division other than Open unless Open was the only division you were classified in.

But as the Single Stack Division has been official since Jan 1 2008, neither of the above matter for anything other than a historical footnote.

Now it is, you are unclassified until you have at least 4 classifier scores other than 0. And your classification in Single Stack can be no lower than one class below your highest classification in any of the other five divisions. Which is the same for all division classifications.

  2. I heard today the some think that the 2010 Area 8 Championship will be canceled due to low registration numbers.

That is a rumor. One person contacted me today that they had heard this.

We are are just under 3 mos from the first shot fired and there is plenty of time to get your match applications in.

I am confident that we will have the usual 300+ competitors sign up.

If there are any questions please feel free to contact me.

  3. Here is a map of Summit Point

A1 are the old ranges from left to right, there is an area that can be

used for close targets. BSR uses this range to demo shooting through

cars. The next range has a 100yd elevated bench, plus this range can be

used as a 50yd range. The middle range has a concrete pad with

pnuematic reset steel plates and then an area that is gravel. The far

right range is 50yds. both of the 50yd ranges here have a baffle

system, but it does not seem to be an issue if you fire from an area you

    can see blue sky

A2 are the newest ranges, They are 100yds deep. The bottom range in

the pic is used for IED demonstrations. This where we will be holding

    most of the matches

A3 is an area they call Mars. It is a cut in the ground that is open

    terrain

A4 is a cafe that can be opened by BSR-Inc if there is a decent size

crowd. Mainly a burger and hot dog joint. Seating outside at picnic

    tables.

A5 is another cafe/restaraunt that can be opened if even larger events.

  4. Hmmm... Wonder why Mr. USPSA Mike Voight doesn't work MG nats...? Seems only natural that the poster child of the sport should be there in some official capacity, like RM? I be that would fix the issue of RO's shooting the match for score real quick.

In our volunteer driven sport this seems like the perfect method of how to lead by example.

MV isn't even a Level 1 RO, so he couldn't be Range Master at a Nationals. The USPSA bylaws designate him (the president) as the default Match Director for the national championships, but that position always finds itself being handed off to someone else.

    to quote the exact verbage from the current bylaws;

"serve as, or designate, the Match Director of, and have full and final authority concerning the United States National Championships,"

So the President of USPSA can serve as or designate the MD of the Nationals.

Just want to be clear on that tidbit.

  5. I use the Caspian 9mm/38Super mags with EGW + 2 base pads. No need for spacers in the mags and they feed factory length.

I had a big stick that was silver soldered by Fred Craig. Sold it to another Caspian shooter and know have another Big stick that was welded by a different company.

I also have one of the new Caspian mags that is based on the ACT Mag for the Tanfoglio in 9mm and one in 38 Super. Both of these ran without a problem in my initial testing.

I will try and post pictures this weekend.

  6. To add to the reasoning, when limited division was created, ammo that made major had to be available in the commercial market. I thought that it was supposed to be offered by at least companies too. And this was at least a 175pf then.

  7. Years ago when I first got started in USPSA I made the following comment to one of our local top shooters and friend: "I am looking forward to the day I beat you." And his reply was simple. "I will never beat him I will only beat myself". I have remembered that reply and have since focused on my performance only and try to shoot the best of my ability.
