Well, here in paradise (aka hellhole) we have no choice but to shoot Ltd-10 or "Open-10" and I don't want to "drag" anyone down this hole . It is, what it is and every chance I get, I like to shoot in (real) Open (170mm).
Use to be just Open or Limited in the days when I started. Why not just go back to two: Open (170mm & Rev) and Limited (140mm & 10 & SS & Prod & Rev) and recognize the different "classes"

Not a local in San Diego but visited last year. Found out from a hotel worker who also works for: www.sandiegoconcierge.com about good hotel rates. Check it out, nothing to lose.
Have fun

Because open is open, no such thing as limited open. Would be like AA fuel but on kerosene.-----Larry
We shoot "limited" Open here all the time

TSA procedures and policies are very inconsistent at the different airports I've flown from. It seems to change weekly with them
LAX was the worst followed by STL (St. Louis) post Nationals. My guns are found on the half-cock notch sometimes
Good luck Zhunter in your travels. Remember to have patience with the uninformed

Yup, same here, take a wild a$$ guess on the Nationals dates for vacation. Then, they'll change the date

They're nice however, how many paperclips can you buy from added cost?

and....I forgot to add in the last line the second salesman told me about negotiating a price, "Come on in, I'm not going to rip you off, bro"
With that said, I left the lot.

Also, I think this is a way to eliminate L-10 in the future.
It will probably be: Open; Limited; Production; Revolver and Single Stack.
For me, it don't really matter if L-10 is eliminated (I live in a 10rd state) since everything is 10rd neutral here anyway. Since the federal ban ended, only the few remaining states with 10rd laws can't switch back to Limited (>10rds). Now, these states are the minority and I can see single stack replacing L-10 after the provisional period.
When I shoot in big matches, I don't shoot L-10 (I can do this at home), I will shoot in Open or Limited with >10rd mags.
Just my .02

You're welcome, but that is NO TIP!!! That is a hard fast rule!!!!
It always helps to know how much something cost the guy you are buying it from!!!! :)
Yes, it does pay to know what it cost the guy selling it. In my case, 12 grand profit is highly unreasonable
And (some ) car salesmen wonder why they have the reputation they have. There are a few upstanding ones

Over here in the middle of the Pacific, our club will probably just stick to L-10 since we still have a 10rd mag law. Few guys are dabbling in Production and I might just try this new division since I have a nib Colt Series 80 in 38 Super and some CM 10rd mags just collecting dust....

Yeah, who trains these guys?!. They must think all buyers are (stupid) not going to do their homework. Did I say the dealership wants $52k for a 2500HD w/Duramax diesel?
Just hate it when people lie to me

Thanks for the tip Z.

I will be buying a new 2006 truck this year but not from a local dealer. Yesterday went with my wife to look at the different interior/exterior colors. While looking at a white one, a salesman comes over, I tell him I'm just looking at the colors, he stays around then he introduces himself, I tell him I already spoke to another sales guy to get him to leave. He then asks if we have any ? so...I ask him if they would sell the truck below msrp. His response was, "That is about even to what we pay for it" So now he opened the door and I tell him you guys are crazy if the dealer has to pay msrp (there is also an additional sticker marking up msrp another $6k as "Hawaii Fair Market Value mark-up) .
Later, another sales guy comes up and says if I buy my new vehicle from the mainland I will have to pay taxes there and local tax here when it arrives. He then tells me I should support the local dealer, yeah if you would give me a great deal . Their idea of a great deal is me paying msrp.

Bob is a heck of a nice guy, builds a great gun, and supports the hell out of the sport.

I promise no more date changes. So you know when it's advertised though it will say the 14-18. This is just for the staff match. Normal shooting will be the 16-18. Weather is a big question. I've seen anything from heavy rain to 80 degree weather here that time of year. It's definitely going to neceassary to check the weather before flying up. But I'm pretty sure we won't have snow like the 2003 Area 1 in Bend.
Lawman,
Save me a spot please
Didn't shoot in the snow.......what's snow
Thanks,

Alright, made my flight arrangements and can't back out now. Don't change the dates okay
What is the weather usually like during this time of year? As you know, all we get is sunshine and warm weather year round
See ya all there.
Aloha,

Will non-Area 1 shooters get to sign-up for the match at the same time, or will we have to wait a little?
Want to make it but would also like to shoot it
I know you said more info coming later but want to nail down my flight soon as I'm using miles.

Wouldn't trade it for anything....
Edit to add:
Although the company I work for may be opening an office somewhere in HI and I've got first dibs on visiting the islands on the company dime.....
Kewl, let us know when and which island so you can shoot with us
Don't forget sunscreen when you visit

I heard of guys using a black and decker workmate. after their done loading, they fold it up and put it in the closet.
Yup, I use my Work Mate to mount a single stage press to pull bullets so it'll work for reloading but you might have to weigh it down or at least use some case sizing lube.

I personally would not get another Para due to quality issues.
Have a good gunsmith check it out before you buy it.
