I'm also having issues with double feeds on brand new tubes with grams springs and followers. Can anyone point me in the right direction.

I believe Grams makes two spring and follower kits. One for the MecGar mags and one for the CZ mags. Found this out when I ordered for the CZ mags with logo but later found out the mags were made by MecGar.

  2. I have the Taylor Freelance ones and the Henning ones. Both fit the gauge with MecGar 17 rd mags.

The TF ones require an allen wrench to remove and can be a hassle but they are secure. The Henning ones have a spring loaded pin and they are so easy to remove when cleaning and so far haven’t come off unexpectedly.

  3. Thanks for the tips. I was able to tap the safety lever down to the fire position and that freed up the slide. The casing was an unloaded fired case. The slide stop is intact and the safety still functions normally. Trying to figure out why this gun does this and why my other S2 doesn’t. Both have the extended left side lever and both have the flat slim LOK grips.

Only difference between them is the one that locks up the slide has Cajun internals and the one that doesn’t lock up the slide has CZ Custom internals.

  4. Shooting a steel match and my S2 locked up about a half inch out of battery and the safety is on. Unable to deactivate the safety and unable to move the slide. Any ideas on how to get it open?

I took one on trade.  Just has the 38SC barrel.  It’s new and was a raffle item on the GA State championship in 2022.  I really was contemplating flipping it and moving g on but am a little intrigued and am considering just running it for awhile and maybe get a 9Major and minor barrel set made…:

I have that same 3 barrel setup. Might get a sight block 9mm barrel for LO. In the meantime, I’m breaking it in so far less than 300 rounds and counting. Didn’t know shooting 9mm minor in open would be fun.

Can someone give me the recommended/ideal torque value for screws that secure a red dot sight?

If you mounting to a plate, some plate manufacturers will recommend a torque value. I go 15-20 inch pounds on the SRO to a CHPWS plate. I mounted a RTS2 on my aluminum optic mount on my open gun at 20 inch pounds. All mounted with medium strength thread locker.

  7. I shot my new Honcho yesterday in 38SC and using Eley ammo (same lot that recorded a 174 of at A2 last year in my old gun) and had 6 failures to go into battery. Most I just had to apply slight pressure on the back of the slide and a couple I had to retract the slide a few millimeters and let go then it went into battery. Maybe it just needs to be broken in and the accuracy was impressive. I’m thinking of using a heavier spring for break in and going back to the 6lb once the gun smooths out. I was using new MBX 140 and STI and 2011 170’s. Only fired 35 rounds so far.

So an update to this, I tried the 7lb spring and hated the recoil impulse from it. The muzzle was dipping bad.

so I think I will going back to the 6lb, and trying out my HS-6 load again since i remember it shooting cleaner and when shot directly next to the AA7 load, I can’t tell that much of a difference.

    thanks for your input everyone

Thanks for trying it and posting your results. I have a new Honcho to try out and conventional thinking had me seriously considering a heavier recoil spring.

  9. My first S2 had the extended safety on the left side as I shoot with my shooting hand thumb riding the safety. On my second S2 it only came with the flat thumb safety so I tried it that way. During practice the slide would partially lock open for no apparent reason. After a few times I saw the thumb safety was partially engaged and I must have been pushing up on the thumb safety during recoil. A good friend gave me his extended thumb safety and I haven’t had any issues with the slide locking partially back. So I would use the extended thumb safety.

  10. Coat it ASAP. I installed it on my pistol and used a silicone cloth to wipe it down after every outing. Worked well for a little while but eventually it started to discolor (rust). I have the aggressive texture so that made it more difficult to maintain. Then I had it blasted and Cerakoted. If the texture is too aggressive, an extra layer of coating tones down the aggressiveness.

At least they sold you one. BSPS wouldn't even sell me the spring in Colorado.

They wouldn’t even sell me extended base pads (Hawaii)

    Order a rune tactical spring/follower setup you’ll get 24+1

Gonna try it. Any info on how long the spring lasts?
