  1. I noticed this too, especially in the ones I haven't uploaded yet. lol. Thanks! Keep em coming!
  2. I didn't really know where to post this, but I figured since I'm a new shooter, I can always use comments and criticism I took your guys' advice on the last stage (no video yet, still trying to figure out how to edit these because it's in a .mod file and not a standard media file >_>) and I shot without gloves.... WOW. Such a huge difference in reloading. My hands were really really sweaty though, and at one point, one of the mags almost flew out of my hands when I went to grasp it. That's how sweaty my hands get naturally. Lol. It was pretty bad. I'm definitely going to buy some of that pro grip stuff because I was able to feel everything a lot better without the gloves. I have a few more videos to upload....I just gotta cut them short because there's a lot of nothing happening in the beginning for like 20-30 seconds Feel free to critique my form, shooting, whatever it is that needs to be worked on! Thanks guys I have a few more videos on my user page. Check them out too http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=agh3CDdnjAo
  3. back at ya This thread is still open for any and all insight guys
  4. Thanks! In terms of the trigger, I contacted Bill Springfield about the trigger because he does trigger jobs on USPs, and he can do either a lightened trigger pull, or the LEM kit in the lower 4#s. The price difference is almost $100 dollars; the standard lightening is 59 and the LEM installation is $149. Is it worth it?
  5. What kind of base pads do USP users use for their mags? I read that you can use the Glock +2 base pads from arrendo(sp??) to fit onto the USP mags.
  6. Thanks!! I'll look into them
  7. Do they have the Blade-Tech products in stock??
  8. Shooter's connection it is!! I've ordered from shooter's connection before and they are incredibly fast. I was just under the impression that they ordered from the manufacturer as well. Already placed the order Thanks guys!
  9. Hi guys! I have a question! I have a USP Compact .40S&W For production, am I allowed to use the 12 rd mags but only load ten rounds? Am I allowed a lightened trigger? What holsters are you guys using? What mag pouches are you guys using? I plan on using this gun for production once every now and then, and wouldn't mind having a full loadout just in case Thanks for the help!
  10. Thanks guys! Luckily they have my size Just placed an order! Btw I hate this hobby. I'm going broke because of it
  11. Ok so I'm looking into ordering another belt, but I'm impatient and don't want to wait for it. Every website I look at that has the belts seems to just order directly from the manufacturer.... I tried to search on here but I'm on my phone and didn't really find any results... So, I ask you, are there any American distributors of CR speed hi torque belts???
  12. Where can I find it? I tried looking it up online and I had no luck finding it. I don't know what to get. I have a small stage set up in my basement for the moving reloads, but I didn't record it. lol. Lighting down there sucks Timer idea sounds awesome. I never understood how the dummy rounds work. Do the rounds still eject? Thanks. Thanks for the help guys! I still can't find pro grip, and I don't even think I was looking at the right things? lol. Help please!
  13. I'm trying trying to be tacticool, I actually get really really sweaty hands and it affects my grip. Sometimes I can't even rack the slide because I can't get a grip on it.
  14. Hey thanks! Yeah I practiced that way two days ago, but tonight I just wanted to really get my reloads down and practice the index finger placement when drawing the mag because it helps me be really consistent that way. Also, I need to work on staring at the bottom of the magwell when I reload; I just started really focusing on that today and I've increased my reload speed just by those two steps. Thanks! Keep the c&c coming!
  15. So I'm doing some late night practice before my first club match tomorrow I should be sleeping but I'm too excited and I just wanted to practice some reloading one last time before my big day Gun used is an STI Trojan 5" .40s&w. The BMG Single Mag Pouches were held on my waist by a CR Speed Hi Torque and my gun was holstered with a DOH holster from Blade Tech. Any and all c&c is appreciated http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4IID64HOeG8
  16. LOL! Op, at least no one got hurt
  17. My first match is this sunday and I'm going to try to remember this in the heat of the moment. I hope I do well
  18. Hmm... I always thought the dynamics were the same, just that the gun changed. Interesting. Thanks. Well I have the fixed rear sights....can I hit it with something to move it over? Well, I don't accelerate the press, but I do hold the trigger at the engagement point and then slowly pull it....I will try the nonstop pulling today. Thanks for the insight! While there are shooters who can go back and forth between dissimilar guns without sacrificing accuracy or speed, it's been my experience that most shooters - especially beginning shooters - will do much better to pick a gun and stick with it. When you consider the Glock and the 1911 have different grip angles, controls, and dramatically different triggers, shooting both is like trying to learn French and Spanish at the same time. Very good concept! Thanks! Thank you. I will try this today. I think I actually put my joint on the trigger and pull it, not the pad. Should I change it up? Yeah, I thought it was a mental thing, but apparently not so much so I ordered a drop in trigger set (not the fulcrum) made by glockworx. Thanks! I think I'm going to stick to the 1911 because I just like it better Thanks everyone for your help! This is good information!
  19. Thank you. I already watch all of Dave Sevigny's videos. He's so sick. lol. I watch his video of him showing his grip at a gun show and I've stuck with that ever since. Thanks for the good advice! Wait, I didn't catch the Top Shot joke? Do explain? Yeah, all my friends that I go shooting with just go to shoot for fun. They're not really serious about it. I have another friend that I will be going to club matches with but I doubt he goes to the range much. I'll post up some pics after tomorrow's practice session. Thank you for the help! Keep it coming
  20. Wow. This video is such a good informational video. My first match is coming up and this is exactly what I was looking for Thanks!
  21. A little background on me....I'm relatively new to shooting. I have been shooting for maybe 10 months, but just recently became a gun owner My first club match is this sunday! So last time I went to the range to practice shooting, I brought both my guns. I have a G17 Gen4 and an STI Trojan. I am actually pretty decent at target practice with my Trojan, but am atrocious with my G17. I have shot the G19 before and I am better with that. The Trojan has a lighter trigger (3lb) and the Glock is maybe like 5-6lbs? I wasn't too fond of the pull, but I was trying to practice with it anyway. My grouping (if you could even call it that) was terrible. My main characteristic with the G17 was left side-oriented shots (I'm right handed) so I attributed that to anticipating the recoil...but even when I pulled EXTRA slow I was bad too. I think I actually got worse as I kept shooting it (lol). I ordered a lighter trigger kit, and a Jager 13# recoil spring. I plan on bringing the G17 down to at least 3-4 lbs because I like lighter triggers. Obviously I'm doing something else wrong with the G17 (grip maybe?) but I honestly don't know. Aside from that, what else would I be doing wrong with the G17 that I'm not doing with the STI? Is it just a mental thing? I will be going to the range tomorrow just for practice again, so I'd like some tips before then I will also get some pictures and post them so you can see the difference between my STI and my G17 groupings. Only reason why I want to become better at shooting the G17 is because it's my home defense weapon, so obviously I don't want to miss my target. Thanks for the help!
  22. Nice! Congrats on being a future homeowner Oh, I just found out that the match that was supposed to be this sunday is getting rescheduled for NEXT sunday.... I mean, at least I'll have all my equipment by then
  23. Thank you I've been reading a lot! lol. I've spent a lot of time these past few days reading Thanks! I'm in the Vernon Hills area. It's relatively far from most of the matches Thanks Thanks! I don't reload yet, but a good friend of mine will be teaching me soon Thanks for the warm welcomes guys!
  24. Hey guys. My name is Jeremy, but some of my friends call me slip. Actually only like 2 of them do, but that's beside the point I'm from IL and will be planning on attending as many matches as my budget allows I'm totally new to the shooting scene, let alone match shooting. I've been shooting for roughly 8 months now, and have just bought my first two handguns. I own an STI Trojan in .40 s&w and a Glock 17 in 9mm. This sunday is my first club match, and I'm really excited. I am planning on shooting in single stack competitions. For the Trojan, I'm using Tripp Research magazines (haven't technically "used" them yet still brand new!). I have a CR Speed Hi Torque belt on the way, but it won't be here for the match. I also have the Ice DOH holster and Blade Tech mag pouches for the 1911 As for the Glock, I just have 3 Glock magazines and 3 aftermarket magazines. I'm not sure if I want to shoot production with the Glock yet because, well, I haven't even done a match! Can anyone recommend some mag pouches and a holster for the Glock that's production legal? Anyway, I think that's a decent first introduction! Hope to meet some of you guys at the events!
