I load 4.0 grains of Wst behind a black bullets int 135 at 1.135. Any reason not to do the same for blue bullets 135
Also.. Blue bullets 147 RN
I want to try some tite group trying to load sub sonic for an octane 9hd thinking 3.0 grains of tite group

Anyone shoot these out if a 9mm I messed up and hit the wrong button when ordering. Be shot out of an xd tactical and 9mm edge

Gump, i have run them with 4756/hs6/and autocomp. They did very well. I prefer the black bullets only because in my gun with the big holes they tend to smoke less than the bayous which is almost none. I found in my other gun with the small holes they are identical in performance and lack of crudyness
-
I like that color

I have run Bayou 124s.they run pretty good. The key to all the moly bullets is crimp. Use just enough to remove the flare. Any more than that and they are going to tumble and smoke, from the exposed lead where the molly is cut. Also use enough flare to not shave the molly also

i run black bullets 124/135 love them no comp crud

Wish I could afford a set

So I have read through this thread. I'm rimfire dumb. But I a 22/45 polymer frame. Is the upper on that pistol and say the vol. lower compatible

No connection folks here? It's not a misprint. A transom is grading tool use to set elevations in construction.
Ie using a transom guarantees all teasers are the same height
It's what the guys that look through the little telescope things on the highway to shoot grades
Jeez didn't know this was ten years old

My starting load for the bbi 125 is 8.0 grains of 4756 at 1.255 and it gives me bout 158 pf.
Got a few thousand 135 bbi I would like to burn through what do you guys think for a good starting load
II'm thinking 7.5 4756 with a 135 black bullets at 1.255 and a wolf srp.
Would be from the same jug as my 125 load

Put it to you like this I shot fluffy's revenge 2 Sunday in 3.1 seconds dropped two point for a whopping 12.109 h/f that's big ole 91% in open lol..
Compare that to production or limited and you will see my point
I thought for sure I had my first official Gm classifier... Fail lmao

I have had them completely rebuild one new adjustment screws body ect all they kept was the diode wires and glass. 75 bucks had it back in a week

I shoot an 8

Hello: I suggest you try an open pistol and see how it works for you. Shooting a dot gun changes your focus to the target not the dot. You bring the dot to the target. Shooting with both eyes open like a shotgun helps also. One of the good things about shooting a dot for a while is that you can shoot an iron sighted gun faster. Kinda weird and hard to explain but it does. Thanks, Eric
Not to hard to explain Eric. I find because I have to see so much faster to stay competitive in open those skills translate the same to irons. At 5yards I can run my production gun almost as fast as I can my open gun. As the distance increases the speed begins to differ exponentially. For example I run the Enos transition drill 3 seconds slower at ten yards with my production gun than my open.

This really isn't quite true, while it may help sell a lot of race holsters the time difference is not as significant as you'd think...plus race holsters are allowed in all divisions in IPSC and the Limited divisions of USPSA. I've put all my guns and holsters on the clock and I can draw my Glock out of a 6004 duty holster within a tenth of a second of what I can draw my race gun.Shooting a dot gun is faster for 2 reasons: first, the open division allows you to use a race holster which is much faster than drawing from a regular holster and 2) dot on target = pull the trigger, no lining up 2 different things in 2 different planes
On point 2 its the target focus used for every shot that makes the dot guns faster and the difference increases with distance/difficulty of shot. At 5m the time between any of the divisions is going to be minimal. At 25m its going to be significant.

Just as an update. I have talked to several name smith's and they are seeing lots of cracked slides in not just open guns but limited also.
They are starting to think it is a fundamental issue with how they are being cut. As in maybe the bit rpm is to fast or pass speed.. Even the way the slides it mounted for cutting is suspect...
This is all conjecture on their part but maybe we will see some improvements in the future for cut slides and durability

124 either precision delta or mg

everyone shoots faster in open relative to say Production so if you're slow with irons, you're going to be slow relatively speaking in open as well ....
Hence I put a 91% on roscoe roundup in production and 88% in open with a faster time and better hits
-
You will shoot marginally faster at first with an open gun. And if your open fundamentals don't evolve with days and years of practice that's all you will ever do.
Shooting open against other open shooters is the hardest thing I have ever done.
You have to see and react so much faster than the other divisions your target focus is a exactly opposite
So while you may at first beat some limited shooters with your open gun know that's people who have been training for years in that division are likely to beat the brakes off you

Dr love look in the inside of one of the cases that stuck and see if there is a step in the case wall on the in side about half way down (basically a thicker section of case wall) some one showed me a couple cases they had run into locally that had this step in them. The factory probably did it to eliminate bullet set back but for reloading it would lower the case volume and with major loads could cause issues.
Again another non-issue. Every one who loads mixed brass sees those cases. I load them all the time. It's enough to bump the velocity about 2ft/second... These are all variables everyone sees when loading
-
Here's my issue if you are having these issues loading 9 major you are missing some basic fundamental reloading skill that will eventually end up showing up in your super loads.
It's not the primer I have run 173 with federal pistol primers and 6.5s out of an open glock.
The problem is something else did some how by chance your powder get mixed . Mean that you accidentally poured the wrong powder back in the jug. what dies are you using are you over crimping not not crimping at all. is it only doing this the 3n38 or did it do it with other powders.. there is no secrete to loading 9 major. process is the same.
I do remember you being very confused about a load the original owner told you and you damn near blew the gun up with 200 pf posted here http://www.brianenos.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=183515&page=2#entry2030608
So yeah now i got to be that guy, the dick that's going to tell you you either need to figure out what's up by consulting someone near you or stop reloading before you hurt yourself or someone else
These are obvious over pressure cases which is why you are having to knock them out
I finally tossed my old trubore barrel out when I was loading
9.2 grains of hs6 with a 124 at 1.165 and hardly getting 170 pf
It had 3 holes and was shot out
Where are you located if you are a couple hours from me I'm in South Louisiana I'll meet up with you and we can figure it out

Who refit and cut the top end for you.

Grip grip grip and more grip... People think open guns shoot themselves. Just not true grip in the open division is key even more so than in other

I shoot coated out of my open guns. I do get a touch of leading in the barrel though. I clean that up with a 20 rounds of jhp...
