My laptop crashed again today and I went to apple .com and ordered a macbook to replace it based on all the good things I've heard about the platform. Problem is I've never even seen a mac up close!!!!!!!! (stupid I know) here is my question I've got about 4 gigs of mp3s and another 6 gigs of jpeg photos that will need to be transfered. Does the Mac even use folders like windows. I'm going to burn the files onto DVD discs before the Mac gets here, should I extract them from the folders and put them in new folders when I transfer them to the Mac? and does the Mac come with a program that will play mp3s like windows media player? I know I did a silly thing but god was I mad at work today.

I use the Carbon Creations on my ss1911 that I have been shooting in SS div. and also as my duty gun. I think they are fine especially when my hands are wet, but I also like the alumnagrips my wife got me with my badge laser etched on them. Try to feel as many options as you can before you spend your money or like me you will end up with a drawer of 1911 grips.

Anyone ever thought about this as a technique to improve our shooting? I know golfers use it and was thinking there might be some merit for us shooter types also.

Wifi External Harddrive?
harley45 replied to harley45's topic in Computers, Cameras, and Electronic Devices of Any Kind
Thanks Xre those look perfect!! -
Now that I am in my new house I'm thinking about putting in a wireless network and buying three laptops for me the wife and the kid, with the smaller harddrives these come with I want to buy an external harddrive to store photos and videos on. Is there a way to send the data to a harddrive say in the living room from my bedroom without connecting the harddrive to the laptop? kinda like a server I guess. I have no real idea what I'm doing here and was just thinking which is always a bad thing for me.

i hadn't thought about a video but that is a great idea, perhaps a combo deal with Burkett like Saul is doing with Max?
-
Sorry for the Newbie question but who made it? Sweet looking gal.

I agree I have heard Brian's voice on Matt Burkett's show and I think he should do it himself it would be nice if he elaborated on his ideas and thought as mentioned above to give those of us who have read the book 50 times another reason to buy the C.D. Eric

I bought one of the Samsung sportscamcorders to record my match performaces with and now I'm getting hooked on video editing with my P.C. I'm alos into remote model helicopters and was wondering if anyone here has any advice on mounting a video camera to one of these? That could make for some cool angles at the local club matches!!! Ideally I'd be able to record right to my laptop, so how about it any advice? Thanks Eric

Thnaks guys for the help I also had some other folks P.M. me with the characters and so far they all seem to be a match, so unless alot of people have the same sense of humor I should be in pretty good shape. Eric -
I know of a range that is about an hour from chicago but I need to find out what kind of classroom Burkett needs, I e-mailed him earlier so I'll post back when I know more. Eric

Well that may be 4 or so counting myself and my daughter from his website we need 12+ I think with some advertisemant that may be doable I'll press onward and see. Anyone ever shoot at the Blue Ridge Sportsman club in KY. I took my NRA LE instructor class there and it is very nice, or some other suggestions? Eric

I noticed that there are not a whole lot of training opportunities in area 5 and was trying to see what kind of interest there would be in having Matt come to this area (I'm thinking Indiana) I think that since the shooting seasoon is already in full swing perhaps 07 is our best bet that gives everyone plenty of time to plan and schedule. Post here so I can see if this is worth pursuing, and I'll volunteer to handle all the details and arrangements Eric Kelley
