  1. I bought it the same way, but I'm just getting the opportunity to shoot through it. thanks. Jeff
  2. Did a search but next to nothing came up. What is the consensus on this optic? Thanks

  4. De tonics has bee around since the 70's or 80's. They made the first viable chopped 45 1911.
  5. There are plenty of pictures of it in various links on that page, looks a lot like a 2011
  6. Dang, I really wanted to shoot that match, but was traveling back from Atlanta yesterday morning, didn't get back to FC until about noon, I'll be out of town next week for the defensive pistol match, that is also a fun one if you can get to it. Jeff
  7. I still have almost 10,000 WSR primers I probably bought in the early 90's.
  8. I have a couple of 8 pound cans of WST and 540 that are probably over 20 years old. initial inquires have said they should be fine to use, anyone have first hand experience using old Powder? Thanks.
  9. Yes the PF changed a few years after I left the game. Still have a bunch of 38 super ammo loaded to 178-9. in the G35 are 180 grains the best route to take? 40 is the only caliber I haven't reloaded for at this point. Jeff
  10. Wow, thank you, very informative reply. The Aimpoint gun actually has very few rounds through it, it was the last one George built for me. The older one above it was my primary gun for years and was insanely reliable. It now has a cracked slide (you can see it in the picture). Both triggers are clean and under 1.5 lbs. The ugly thing on the bottom was one of the original Gen 1 frames, it never cracked but I had it welded under warranty, I've thought about turning it into a minor 9mm iron sighted gun. When you say the new style mags need "tuning" what is the process there? I recently ordered 3 Caspian 21 round mags from Brownells, and was hoping they'd run smooth. I may PM you with additional questions, thanks again for your reply. Jeff
  11. I have a 45 that was built by EGW on a Para frame (with a Springfield Slide) back in the Mid 90's. what are my options for Magazines for this? thanks. thanks. Jeff
  12. Just rejoined USPSA after 17 years of absence. Moved from the Midwest to Colorado about 8 months ago. Shot a "defensive pistol" match a couple weeks ago near FC and had a blast, shot it with a browning high power. So based on gear I already own I'm trying to figure out the most effecient and realiable horse to ride as I ease back into the game. Current viable firearms are: Open - EGW Caspian (yeah, yeah, yeah) 38 super - Functions great, still have a ton of loaded ammo, primers, brass and bullets, (and some powder) and my dusty and rusty 1050 is still set up for it. Limited - I have a Para 45 that EGW also build, though not really for competition, I have bunch of old mags but they are untested. I have lots of brass and bullets, and a 550 to reload on. Limited option 2 - I have a Glock 35, and at least 6 mags. and i'm pretty sure I have 40 cal dies for the 550. So I can shoot open fully understanding I won't be as "competitive" as the 2011's with more capacity. but hey at my age I'm not playing in that league any way. But if I wanted to also shoot limited, Para or Glock? will it come down to magazine reliability? 40 vs 45? I can throw a mag well, base pads, a trigger and sights at the Glock fairly easily, will it cost me a fortune to set-up 5-6 reliable Para mags? Thanks. Jeff

  14. Not one person mentioned bullet weight, how much does that factor into powder selection? Jeff
