I had no idea you were so far up in Wisconsin... I was gonna mention a couple of Illinois matches this weekend, but nevermind.
So whats on the agenda for your last week of training leading up to A5, after having read the posted stage diagrams?
-
I'll be shooting Sat and Sun AM.. Do you you have a club match scheduled this weekend?
-
I like a 230gr LRN bullet and 3.7gr of VV N310 powder for my 1911.
-
I found a great setup for my Springfield 1911 is a 230gr LRN bullet with 3.7gr of VV N310. 100% reliable, very clean, and a soft shooter for sure.

I put the light between my ring and middle finger, which ended up pointing towards the bottom of the target. My plan of shooting 8, reloading, and shooting 4 went to crap when i fired a makeup shot at the first target... one that i didn't need! Still worked out ok, aside from being down way too far on points..

Fun stage from a fun match.

Attend this match, you won't regret it!

For a Nationals Match that starts in a week there is not alot whats going on talking....
still would like to get a round count, maybe see the stages, get an idea of what to expect
I spent some time last night loading up match ammo and then had a chance today to shoot some 40 yard targets to get zero'd in
plan on a steel challenge match this saturday and a club match sunday to finish off getting ready!!
Got the Trojan back from George Huening last week, he smoothed somethings out including the beavertail, added ambi's that he shaped down for me and added an ed brown extended mag release that is slick as snot.
Shot this gun this past sunday at a club match and everything ran smooth. He has my 70 series Colt smoothing up the beavertail and mag release in case I need a back up.
Ready to go!!
Of course it ran smooth, George had his hands on it!
My excitment is growing, looking forward to meeting alot of fellow BE members very soon!

This post shows which category I fall into Corey!
Anyways, I've seen single stack shooters a major matches carry a spare mag in their weak hand as if it were a cigar.. Could that be interpreted as a prop of some kind?
-
Please dont grill me on this one, I've searched and read enough posts about weird rules to make me have nightmares about numbers with decimal points in them!
Here is my question. During a table/briefcase start with all ammo on table, is the shooter allowed to grab mags and put them in a shirt breast pocket? I was recently told by a seasoned M class shooter that that's what he'd do, but it seemed to me that the shirt pocket would be just like using a front pants pocket. Also, upon make ready command, I've been taking my barney mag out of back pocket(and putting it back in there) and pulling a full mag out of my front pocket to use to start the stage.. I'm assuming I'm good as long as it's not in the front pocket after the start signal, correct? Nats are coming soon, and I really dont want to make a bonehead mistake! Thanks for the input in advance!

If you order 10,000+(3 'cases' of 125gr bullets) bullets from SNS, you'll get 10% off(5% off for 5K). For 125gr bullets, to maximize value a 'case' would be 3,500 bullets. That would put you at $57/1000 shipped for 10,500 bullets. So your best case scenario using the smallest bullet as your example is still not as cost-effective, and I'm sure you know but the numbers get ALOT scarier as the bullets get bigger.

I am a new reloader just getting started. Finally got my 550B and ordered powder and primers.
Thanks for all of the information regarding projectile sources.
Forgive me if I am wrong, but it seems to me that in 9mm there aren't many savings between lead and FMJ when you factor in shipping charges.
It seems that at a place like precision delta or MG you can get 1000 projectiles for about 72-74 dollars shipped. High quality cast bullets are about 67-68 bucks per 1000 but then they tack on shipping, bringing the cost up to about 72-74 dollars as well, which seems to negate any savings.
If I go with 4000 9mm from SNS I am at 262.30 shipped. 4000 FMJ from MG is about 293.00 shipped.
I guess I have to ask myself if the 31 dollars savings is really that crucial. I guess I could look at is as a match fee, or gas to get to the match, right?
Am I missing something? I don't mean to come off like a smart ass either. It's an honest inquiry.
I wanna purchase my first batch of projectiles this week.
I'd like to know where you got those montana gold prices. I see they're 313$ for 3,000 bullets on the MG website... approx 104$/1000 for a 147gr bullet. SNS would cost you approximately 68/1000 shipped if you were to buy 3,0000.

I know of a place that sells excellent quality lead bullets at really good prices that ship fast and shoot great! If anybody wants to try them, we have a full money back guarantee... no questions asked!
-
Order anything from SNS, you'll have it at your door within 3 days when the post office does their job... Just saying.....

Use your par time feature and try to beat times you didn't think you could beat while doing dry fire drills. Make sure to get a clean sight picture every time you pull the trigger. Repeat a few hundred times and if you don't get faster during live fire I'd be very surprised!

I have a pair of these I just started using. While they aren't the most protective, I feel pretty comfortable wearing them. The video quality is nice, and the uploading to PC couldn't possibly be any easier. The fit around the ears is a little bulky, so some muffs with a good amount of padding is nice, otherwise earplugs AND muffs will probably be needed. These are a little pricey, but one of the easier first person setups to use IMO.... and you dont have to mount a goofy camera on your head!

If you are looking for lead bullets, check out our 147gr FP bullets. They're very accurate, and soft shooting in my experience. 5.7 gr Accurate No. 7 and an OAL of 1.133" is our load of choice.

The 2010 TN Sectional was up there with one of my favorites. One of the toughest matches while still being a great match was 2010 Area 5.

Good to see you on the forums! Hope to see you at a local USPSA match this year.
-
I realllly hope to shoot this one this year, I've heard it's a great match.
-
Using par times in dry fire and live fire has been one of the best/most eye opening additions to my practice, just be careful when really pushing yourself in live fire drills!
-
Did any of the area match winners get a slot?
If any area winner gets left out of this match, something is very wrong with the system.

How many rounds can you load per hour
in Dillon Precision Reloading Equipment
Posted
Reloading experience - 2 years
Dillon 650 - 800 round per hour
Super 1050 - 1100 round per hour
This is with all primer tubes pre-filled, and I'm not including the time it takes to fill the tubes. Also assuming the brass has been properly inspected to avoid any hiccups.
