  1. This one on the Single Stack gun : http://www.shootersconnectionstore.com/Wilson-Oversized-Mag-release-Blue-P632.aspx

and this one on the Edge Limited gun angled up and back at about a 45 degree angle: http://www.1911store.com/magreleasebuttonsti-oversize.aspx

I don't have to adjust my grip on either gun when using these buttons, and as Eric said, you may have to have a small relief in the left grip for your thumb to get a little closer to the button.

  2. Good topic!

As mentioned, a steel target is generally more difficult to hit when it's the first OR last target to shoot in any one position. Being able to call that first or last shot in a given position is a valueable skill, and the margin of error is much less when shooting steel.

If you can set up some steel plates so they don't fall when hit, do so and put 2 shots on each steel. The farther away you get from the steel target, the more it will show you the deficiancies with your grip/sight tracking/shot calling.

Close up "hoser" arrays with no-shoots or hard cover are impossible to re-create with steel, and come up enough in matches to justify getting some paper targets into your practice sessions.

If I HAD to choose a ratio of steel:paper, factoring in cost of cardbard targets and longevity of steel, I'd probably go with about a 3:1 steel to paper ratio.

  3. There are tens of thousands of people around the country shooting lead bullets with no problems. Don't be afraid of them, they won't give you lead poisoning unless you decide to eat them or lick your fingers. The money saved on lead bullets, especially larger ones, pays off significantly in the long run.

  4. I won't load pistol ammo again without case lube.. I take the time every 100-200 rounds to dump my loaded ammo out on a towel and wipe the lube off of it(also a good step for finding high primers or anything else). I use a lanolin based lube that I massage onto the brass before loading, and it's a pretty "thick" substance. I feel like I exert the same amount of energy loading 1,000 rounds with lube as I do 100 rounds of unlubed cases.

No doubt in my mind that case lube can extend the life of a loader and your hands, wrist, elbow, shoulder, back, etc. As for the brass, I don't see it making much of a difference in life span, but I could be wrong on that one.

  5. It's been awhile since I've posted my last videos, and the advice I got last time has taken me to another level. Here are videos from last fall one of which is in Single Stack division and one is Limited. I know there are still alot of things I need work on, any advice is appreciated.

  6. Anything that helps hand eye coordination is good in my book, especialy coordination to your trigger finger like most first person shooter games do. Add to that the fact that you're developing visual patience and calling your shot(s) while playing. All the while your mind is processing tons of information very quickly... It can't hurt, and yes... I DO think it helps!

ETA - You can't go wrong with Call of Duty MW3, or most of the older versions back to Call of Duty 4

  7. Or...he'd just tell everyone to screw off and do what he wants to do. ;)

I can be a bit unpredictable that way.... =)

    No.... You? haha

You should consider checking out one of Rich's (Canyon Creek) production XD's. Seriously well done.
