  2. Just finished mine. Got the jogger for $50 off Craigslist and the ATV mounts $45.
  3. Yes, definitely. I'm sure you will find the MG will run slower than the plated Berry's. The charge you are using now might work well with a real jacketed bullet. You can lower the charge some if you like for the Berry's, just not too much. Unique is a good powder for mid to upper range loads. You will find as your charge get's lighter, the powder will leave more residue and unburnt flakes. You can run some pretty light loads with a 14lb. spring, but I wouldn't go too light with the Unique or weapon and bullet performance will likely suffer. Most bullets need a bit of zip to stabilize and achieve the best accuracy. Get a faster powder if you want to load just a tad over power factor. I think you will find eventually though, you can and probably will be happier when you stop chasing the elusive bunny fart. Thanks, I will wait on the MG's and chrono again with the same charge.
  4. Got to chrono some loads today. 124gr Berry's plated, no MG's yet Started with 5.2gr of Unique PF was 148. Pistol cycled fine. Can I lower the charge by a tenth or 2 and try again? Running a new 14lb. recoil spring also The Berry's plated are not the bullet I will be shooting. Just a few that I borrowd to get an idea of where I should be. I have MG 124's on the way. I assume I should wait on the MG's and chrono what I am actually going to use.
  5. OK all my self imposed drama is over. I am now one, with my spring and guide rod.
  6. I turned the nut driver down so far to fit, that it developed cracks. I'll try some thing else next time
  7. I have a Gen2 G17L. The front sight access hole is smaller diameter than the sight tool .25". Is it advisable to enlarge the access hole to accommodate the tool.
  8. Its for my 17L.I even tried holding my tongue right and that always works, but not this time. Very frustrating
  9. I sent my FN trigger assembly to C-RUMS to get the lifter welded and asked him to do it for me.
  10. I only have 13lbs of Unique, got a little crazy when powder was tougher to find. I'll look for some trades and sell an 8lb jug. I like Win 231 BTW how many rounds do you work up for the chrono.
  11. Looking for a good MINOR starting point for my G17L factory barrel with a 14lb. Wolff spring and guide rod. I will be using Unique powder, MG 124 RN's Fed, Rem or Win SPP's. Thanks, PRC
  12. Shot a 5 stage shotgun only match on June 27th, ended up in 11th out of 34 shooters . I almost had a clean match. Last stage missed 3 out of 4 flippers and stepped out of bounds SLP MK1 ran very good. Stage 1 was crazy 2 PPR's and a Tex Star, static clays, steel and a flipper. First time shooting a PPR, Mod choke #6 shot.
  13. Ken Thanks for the info. Very do-able project. After Sunday's match I am going to cut one down, and see how I like it.
  14. Has any one of you cut down a CCW 6 rounder to make it a 4 rounder. If so how did it turn out. Shotgun match this Sunday, can't wait
  15. Which gas piston are you running? Light load piston, Fairly wet with CLP ( all I have right now) I'll revisit Win value pak after I get a few more 100 rounds through it. C-Rums is going to switch over my safety while he welds up the lifter. Great forum, been lurking for a few months. Fingerless glove cured the sharp checkering, lifter nibbled on the my thumb yesterday, not too bad. First and last time that happens, Trigger group on the way to C-RUMS. Who is C-RUMS and what are they going to do to your trigger group? C-Rums = Jeff Cockrum LLC www.c-rums.net He welded the lifter solid and switched the safety over for a lefty, Great job fast turn around
  16. I talked to Briley today. They said they DO NOT make the chokes for FN
  17. Are FNH and Briley's Extended Chokes for the SLP basically the same. Has any one compared them shot for shot. Looking to buy a LM and IC.

  20. First post for me here. Just picked up my SLP today. Took it home, disassembled and cleaned it good. Went to the range for a 200 round break in. Too many FTE with the WalMart Win value pak, but I figured that would be the case. Issue #1 Need to switch the safety over for a lefty. #2 The checkering is uncomfortable. Too sharp, I'll try a glove next time, or sand it a little. Can any one talk me through the safety swap. Thanks, Chris
  21. can't scratch my itch
