Yes but get it in asap. We are over 200 shooters but quite a few of them are shooting on Friday so there is still some room sat and sunday.
I'll get my app in the mail today... I'd be looking to shoot Sunday.
-
If I send my app in today could I still get in on a the match?
-
Especially when you are shooting 40sw through a KKM 10mm barrel.
-
Why would he need a factory 10mm when he has a KKM one... on the left.

Make Ready
Are You Ready
Stand By
Stop
If you are finished unload and show clear
Unload and show clear
Hammer down, holster
Range is clear
Those are the ONLY, ONLY commands the RO should EVER say when there is a shooter on the line. My friend got ****ed by an RO who said "I think you have a squib" ... my friend proceeded to check, he didn't have a squib and the RO wouldn't give him a reshoot "because he didn't say stop".... at a level 2 match.

You should have arb'ed it... based on the rulebook your are completely within the "43 oz" weight limit if the scale weighed in at 43.2 based on significant figures.
The number 43 has 2 significant figures, the number 43.2 has three significant figures, for proper comparison you would have to make both two sig fig numbers, which makes 43.2, 43
The rulebook needs a decimal point or an explanation that the decimal point doesn't matter (like they do with PF calculation)

I predict Carol and Tyreese will get to terminus, they will act normal until they realize that the rest of their friends are trapped and will work slowly to get them out.
I feel that Beth is/will also end up there and assist them as well.
Either that or episode #1 they escape and pull a death to the biker gang guys style attack on Terminus.

My nose is sun burnt... from shooting on Sunday

So I relocated for work and am thinking about buying a smoker since its finally getting nice out.
I don't really want to deal with charcoal considering I don't have anywhere to dump ashes. I was looking at this thing.
http://www.walmart.com/ip/Masterbuilt-30-Electric-Smoker-Black/21151686
I have a programmable receptacle thermometer so I am not concerned about perfect control on the unit itself, just has to be get hot enough and maintain temperature.
Any opinions on this model? Any trouble keeping temps steady as a result of outdoor temp/sunlight? Also, with smokers of this size in general, how do you deal with larger pieces of meat? At home my family as the large Big Green Egg so I have never had issues fitting a 9-10lb brisket on it, how do you guys deal with large pieces in smokers like this?
If you guys have any other models that worked good for you let me know. I'd like to keep the price under $200 and like mentioned I will have an external temp control method.

I have a strong feeling that they will make the match mostly 6-shot neutral.
I would say you are correct. Last years SSN, granted it was a tribute to the guy who passed away that used to set up stages, had a lot of 6 and 7 shot arrays, leading me to believe they Revo match to be 6 shot neutral.
-
All you gain is a little extra safety net for makeup shots.
Sorry but this is poor advice. The only thing those 2 extra rounds need to be used for is running the match like a production shooter... 10 shot arrays. This is the ONLY way you will EVER make up for minor pf, by eliminating reloads.
Now, I'm not saying you won't have the advantage of 10 shots on 8 shot array of steel, but when you get to the upper level of competition guys who are shooting major are always going 8 for 8 on almost every array so using them as a safety net will leave you with the disadvantage of minor, with no advantage of 10 shot arrays.
I'm with Corey, I just don't see the advantage. If you are accurate enough to shoot alphas in minor to make up for the scoring then you will be just as accurate shooting major... meaning you will shoot 8/8 arrays and shooting with production guys I often see them reloading after 8 shots as well... leading me to believe that having the ability to always shoot 10 shots arrays doesn't exist.

I noticed there Saturday AM/Sunday and Saturday PM/Sunday squads.
Does this AM/PM transfer to Sunday as well? Or does everyone shoot Sunday morning?

I heard the same whiney-ass bitching at a match I shot over the weekend.
There are still plenty of classifiers to choose from.
Outside of the 8 revo issue, I'm actually not sure how that classifier (13-05) could have made into actual circulation. I read it a few times last night, there is no way to set it up with out having scoring zones of multiple targets overlap. As rare as it might be we actually had one shooter on our squad break the perf and get two scoring hits with one shot. Kind of an issue with a Virginia count stage.
I'm not complaining out of some kind of personal butthurtness... classifiers are classifiers. I'm just looking at the move as a whole. It seems like there were a lot of unexpected issues with this move to 8 shot minor. Unless they were expected and HQ didn't mind throwing out classifiers/shifting the division towards the competitive advantage of 8 shot minor.
-
Maybe I'm just missing something, but if getting 8 shots and/or minor involved in Revo division was so important, would it have been easier to just skipped over the BS of 6 shot major/8 shot minor and gone straight to you can shoot an 8 shot revolver .355" min for major and just let people decide?
Seems like it would have been much easier and affected far fewer people than how it turned out. Lets face it, after this, 6 shot revos will be obsolete. Even on a perfect 6 shot neutral stage, you are still shooting for alphas, why not just take minor and two extra rounds.

Any idea for what the tentative dates and locations will be for the 2014 Wisconsin and Illinois Sectionals?
-
Is the FB page correct? Match date is 8/1/14 - 8/3/14?
Planning vacation for next year, plan to go since IN has been moved to Sept!

I have been relocated during the week to Iowa City, IA from NW IL for a project we are building out here.
Is there any places within a reasonable distance that shoots USPSA or similar type matches during the week/evenings? Or anyone that practices indoors during the winter? I'm a member at West Liberty Gun Club now, but its difficult to shoot in the dark haha.

Thoughts..
+1 to low ports or prone, along with everything else that most people don't practice (shooting positions that for SHO/WHO, etc.)
It makes matches more fun and all of this stuff comes up at majors... might as well include it in locals so people can have an idea of what it takes.

Any way to confirm an application made it? I see that self squadding isn't up yet.

I think it would better to have a 6 day, 16-20 stage match. You would shoot the match in 2 days and that way you could shoot a second or even 3rd division. More competition, a lot more shooters, and less of a burden on shooters.
Might as well keep back to back format. Lim/Pro, Open/L-10.
My idea would be less time the RO's would have to be there. All the Nationals would be done in 6 days not just half of them in 4.
Your idea would require more work from the ROs.

Move it back to Vegas and leave the format alone; you'll get your 400+ back.
Bill, you are comparing 246 competitors in a single-division match this year with 400+ competitors in 3-division match in 2012.
The numbers for Limited division only:
2013 - 246 competitors
2012 - 261 competitor
I can't find numbers for other divisions yet, but for Limited it was only 20 people difference, which could be easily explained by the shortage of ammo and many other factors.
Maybe. Just my opinion. How many are signed up for the other one?
95 in L-10.
261 in Open.
The number of shooters really isn't that much different... I also don't think that location changed much for people. You had to get a car in Vegas to shoot the match... the only difference is that you either flew into St. George instead of Vegas, or you drove the 2 hour trip from Vegas to the range.

You know what was awesome... starting the match on THAT stage.
-
Personally... I would rather see 22-30 stages shot in 2-3 days. I REALLY hate shooting 1/2 a day and then stopping. I would rather have 2-3 days of 10-12 stages each...
I would love to see a squadding option to shoot the whole match in 2.5 days. Just setup 1 squad for the first 2.5 days, and another squad for the 2nd. If it doesn't fill up, then you have your answer. I know I won't be at my best cramming all that shooting into 2.5 days, but if the only other option is to shoot 1/2 day for 5 days in a row, I won't attend the match at all.
10-12 stages, like the ones at National these year would not be hard at all to accomplish in one day... and the weather is great this time of year.
We were doing (6) 28-32 rounders and finishing before 1pm. With how well the staff and match planning is/was this year... I have full faith that they could put on a day long match and not create any back ups anywhere.
10 round 40 mag, fits in the box... go...

How does one accomplish this? 10 round mag that will run long 40sw ammo and fit in the box in single stack division.
I take it the Tripp 10rd 10mm mags are too long?
Attempting to run 40 minor.
