This isn't really anything new... Troy threatened Tim for Minnesota last year or the year before that if any of his stickers were found in the portas#!tters he would be DQed from the match.... and that it was on Tim to make sure his followers didn't paste anything.

Ya but that is a bad approach to ROing, yelling something at the shooter who might very well be aware they are close to the line and impacting their stage performance. Just say stop if the rule is broken.

I always enjoy seeing this a matches... ROs who stand on the 181* several yards away from the shooter looking to make the call.. its like you're so interested in DQing people you're willing to put your life on the line for it lol.

I'm fairly certain this is in reference to fault lines and not actual muzzle directions as I almost never see anything say where you can't point your gun at a safety table at any match.

Its an unwritten rule that you point the gun at the berm in front of you in the safe area. Tell him not to do that as that's again and move one. "Safe direction" is way too subjective on this one.

Precision shooting and hammering away in USPSA a 2 different things. A light trigger lets you get away with a lot more with regards to mashing it and/or having not an ideal grip... two things that bullseye shooters don't do. Whatever weight you decide on... just make sure its 100% reliable and will last forever. Safety aspect aside, whatever gain you will have from the light trigger will be instantly nullified if that thing starts having hammer follow or doubling during a match. I've known/know a few people with super light triggers. They were either oblivious to the fact it won't last forever and started having issue or acknowledged it wasn't going to last forever and had to service it periodically... if that's what you want to do then go for it but in the big picture having a gun that works 100% with minimal effort is better for overall match performance.

I have 0 issues with mine, periodically it will flip a primer but its rare. Maybe a couple per 1k at most. 3 things I always do...make sure the plastic cap/dish is on it and tighten the bolts finger tight/all consistent. Keep the rheostat on the slowest speed that will fill 95-100primers in the full 2minute run time. Make sure its on a rigid surface.

IMHO... anything short of an exact copy or same platform with but matching controls is just wasting your money. If your gun goes down you want something that you can pick up, it holds the same, recoil impulse is the same, etc. You are better off to save a little extra and get exactly what you have or find something used online and change parts to match yours. You also want something that will feed the same ammo reliably... going with an open glock you will not chamber 'long' 9 major ammo as easily. In the meantime carry a spare optic and a few other items like extractor, etc. in case something goes down on yours that you can quickly fix/rezero. Of all the times I've seen people's guns have issues (short of blowing them up) it was due to small part failure.

3/4" of barrel isn't going to change how the gun carries considering the frame/grip is the same. I'd go with the full length

Shooting 3-4 aimed shots at those targets would be easier than trying to setup and the get out of a bipod position.... I'd argue taking a mike would be better for your score than trying to do it as well.

Our local MDs run good stages becuase they reach out to good/invested shooters and ask for stage design. Everyone should be doing this and I'm more than willing to bet people who are into this sport will help out as having good stages at your local match makes it a better match for you as a shooter.

To be fair... people need to call this s#!t out at their local matches... trash stage designers existed way way before CO was even talked about. Illegal stages suck for all divisons IMHO... being able to stand and shoot 16-18rds in limited isn't 'fun' either and really screws over shooters who eventually go to major matches and learn what 'real' stages are like.

I mean.. thats fine but intentionally not being competitive and using it as a reason to justify it as 'ok' in a competitive sport is flawed.

I have a feeling you'll see LO poach CO shooters by a large margin. CO guns with magwells, etc. is going to be appealing to a lot of people.

He is 100% correct, it will stay minor. HQs main goal is to generate revenue and keeping it 9mm will appease sponsors and keep people shooting LO. shhhhhhhhhhh....

I don't think you can quite compare LO to CO though. CO was a new concept that allowed people to have the fun of open without having to do all the open bulls#!t. LO is just allowing single actions and could easily be absorbed into CO without any significant changes in whose going to win/with what guns. Not upset... just pointing out the reality that LO talk started about the same time Staccato go re-interested in USPSA and Springfield created a double stack 1911.

We have a division for all that fun stuff.. its called open.

Has nothing to do with 40 or custom built guns. Has to do with double stack 1911s in 9mm. That is the only reason the division was created. CO was built around the shooter... this division is not.

I don't think it will matter... the allure of 15rds vs. 140mm and a dot isn't that great. Low cap regardless of how you slice it is dead in USPSA. You make an interesting point about LO poaching CO... thats why they should have just made LO, SAO, since that is the reason it was created.

Me too because I want to see the butthurt of everyone with a 9mm gun now cry that they need to get a 40cal. They won't do it because Springfield, STI, etc. are geared towards 9mm 2011 type pistols not 40cal and not 9 major. It a division for the sponsors, not for the shooter.

Getting rid of L10 is strictly a symbolic move... it already doesn't exist and there are several level 3s each year that don't even recognize it as a division. Production is dead... making it 15rds or 140mm won't change anything. Limited Optics should be major/minor... if not then don't call it Limited Optics... call it 'division for 2011s because CO shooters are scared of single action triggers' or something along those lines.

Recent round of HQ surveys suggests otherwise... they're questioning if it should be major/minor. If that happens everyone with a 9mm gun will be at a significant disadvantage.

Its not a real division yet... its entirely possible it won't work out or better yet be totally changed around from the provisional one after everyone buys s#!t for it (see CO as it exists now lol). That's really the biggest issue IMHO.
