  1. Nice. It's good to hear about a gunsmith making something the shooter wants instead of making something he wants the shooter to use. I talked with a couple of gunsmiths who didn't want to build what I was asking for. That kills me but I'll save that for the "What I Hate" forum.

  2. I tried a couple from CDNN. They worked great but after 10-12 months and shooting 1-2 matches a month, the lips bent and I started having jams. I didn't try bending them back and decided to toss it. I gave the other one to my buddy and he hasn't seen the lips bend after 10 months. Since then, I came accross a couple of brand new PMIs and been using those for the last year with no problems. With a magpul follower and ranger plate, I can only get 39 rounds. The CDNNs didn't drop free and the PMIs do.

  3. Has anyone ever seen an accurail job where the rails are held in place by roll pins drilled into frame’s rail? There’s one in the front and rear and the accurail (which is straight with no bends) sits between them. The first time I took the gun apart, the rails fell out which surprised me. I don’t like the idea of possibly loosing these things when I take the gun apart and I don’t know if the same thing happens with Bob Krieger accurail. If I use a some grease, they seem to stay in place. I’ve seen pictures of Bob Krieger’s work and his rail has a hook in the front and a hole is drilled into the frame for this hook. His rail goes all the way to the rear where it doesn’t in my gun.

I found one post where someone stated he would never use this system with the roll pins but didn’t state why.

    Any input would be appreciated.

  4. Remember that I'm not real familiar with this particular game yet, so what exactly are you referring to? My guess is that the shooter is using the BAC, and that the closed cover on the front eliminates the magnification so all you are left with is a (for a right eye dominant shooter) dot/donut/chevron/triangle from the right eye input superimposed over the actual target input from the left eye.

Am I even close to being right?

    Good guess.

  5. I agree the rifle should stay in one configuration throughout the match and you shouldn't be able to remove the magnifier for one stage and put it on latter. I have to disagree about not letting it swing out of the way. What about those guys who use ACOGs with the fiber optic and use a closed cap on the front for the close stuff and flips the cap up for the long range stuff? Should they be forced to leave the cap closed or open through the whole match?

If the magnifier can quickly flip out of the way and back, it sounds like a cool idea. I hate having to crank up or down the magnification on by IOR during a stage, but I do like the option to go anywhere between 1.1x - 4x. You are stuck with 1x or 3x with Aimpoint/3x magnifier option. I would love to try the Meopta.

  6. Last night I had a dream the I was the second shooter of a large squad. When it was my turn to shoot, my mags weren't fully loaded and I wasn't familiar with the course of fire because I was not paying attention when the first guy shot. The funny thing is when I checked my mags, 45's, 22lr and 40's fell out of the mag. After a long pause after I loaded, I told the RO I wasn't ready and put me down a couple. The rest of the squad got pissed off because I was taking so long. At that point I woke up. It felt like those dreams where you go to school and have to take a test you didn't know about. That was 3:30 this morning and I couldn't go back to sleep after that.

  7. Safety? At Norco?

Notice the flip-up iron sights on a 1,000+ yard rifle... That's confidence.

It should be safe at Norco. After all, they are in a state with some of the strictest gun laws and by default, everything is safe and there is no crime.

I wouldn't mind shooting there some day when I visit my parents who live 35 minutes away. Like many people though, I'm a little worried about the silly gun laws (i.e. hi cap mags).

It's a shame. I grew up around there and played played paintball right by their range all the time but man do I love living in AZ.

  8. I've got some matching mag pouches for my single stack. They only sell single mag configuration and they have belt clips. They hold the magazines great but I think they move around too much because of the belt clip. The pouch can be seperated from the clip via rail system and you can buy a double rail accessory that you can put 2 pouches on. They have a belt or paddle configuration and it should be pretty solid. I just wish they sold it as a package to save me some money.

  9. I recently got a IOR 1.1 x 4 x 26 CRT but the reticle was fine plex with a 1 moa dot. I thought that scope only came with a CBQ reticle because their website doesn't list any other option and when I researched that scope, nobody had options for the reticle.

I got a great price for that scope and would hate to return it. Has anyone tried the IOR with a CBQ reticle and can think of any advantages of having that reticle compared to a fine plex and dot?

I also notice a green tint when I look through the scope. Is this normal with IOR products?

I plan to use this scope for tactical class.
