  1. Winchester small rifle magnum for 5.56/.223.I started using Federal No. 200 Small Magnum Pistol during the Obama shortage and haven't looked back. No FTF since switching. Running in my STI Edge .40 with extended firing pin and 15# main spring.
  2. +1 for the LYMAN 2200 Autoflow. It has a really thick bowl on it. Just pull the plug when your done polishing and 98% of the media drains out leaving nice clean cases ready to load.
  3. I guess I'm way behind the curve using Titegroup and MG 180 JHP.I'll have to try some. Will it shoot softer than the Titegroup????
  4. My Hornady die seems to be working just fine. But I am considering a set of dies to separate seating and crimping.
  5. If you are only shooting 200 rounds a month I'd say you really don't need one. You should be able to load that in under an hour. Sounds like you need hit a few IPSC matches to get really hooked.
  6. What about your mainspring? I put an M2i extended firing pin and heavy duty ISMI firing pin spring and trigger job in my brand new STI EDGE and it did the same thing. Glad I didn't try to chamber a round I ended up changing the main spring to an ISMI 17 lb. Stock is supposed to be 17 lb. but it is longer than ISMI. I am actually trying a 15 lb. now with Fed primers.
  7. I ran the 11 lb. on my G 17 with 130 P.F. loads. It was ok for about 500 rds then had trouble going into battery cosistently. Put my 13 lb. back in. The 11 lb. spring took a 3/4" set when compared to a new one!!!!
  8. Just got my new plate. Here are some pictures. The one on the left is the new one, the right is old one. Notice the size of the land on the new plate is much wider (less chamfer) this holds the spring lower in the groove. I have only cycled about 30 pieces of brass thru with no dies installed, but looks promising. I will run a full test this weekend. Case is still slightly tipped by the spring but it looks 95% better. Dave
  9. I got an e-mail from Hornady on Wednesday, my shellplate is suppose to arrive on Friday. I will test run and if it does not work 99% I have a few ideas I will try. I will let you know as soon as I test it.
  10. fritzthemoose: I hope you got you issue resolved, if not see this post. http://www.brianenos.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=104514
  11. Well I just got my new case feeder and installed it. Set it up for 9mm (shellplate #8), everything is great EXCEPT the spring on the shell plate acts like a speed bump and jams the case. Called Hornady today and informed them that it looked like the chamfer on the bottom of the shellplate was cut too much allowing spring to ride up in the groove. They said they may have got some bad ones. Anyone having issues like this need to call, they are sending me a new plate and said they would test it before it ships out.HORNADY1-800-338-3220 and push 3 for TECH support.
  12. I had the same issue with my press. The tech rep told me they got a bad batch so they sent me ALL 5 BUSHING and 3 quick change inserts. To remove your press bushings, 1) Remove all dies and powder measure etc. 2)Take your expander die and make sure the lock collar is tight, insert it upside down in the bushing you want to remove this will line the lugs up perfectly. 3) Use a 1 1/8" open end wrench to remove the stuck bushing. By putting it in upside down it not only lines up the lugs but also you are now tightening on the locknut instead of loosening.
  13. Thank You All for the kind words and advice on forum searches, I didn't think of it. XD Niner I am planning to go to SEPSA next month, and I'll look you up. Dave
  14. Welcome, I lived in New Hampshire for 35 years and decided to pack it in after 911. I put my snowblower on the roof of my truck and kept driving until someone asked me what it was!! Dave from Sunny Fla.
  15. I'm a new shooter(6 mos.) and a New Hampshire transplant, I guess that makes me a Damn Yankee!!! Anyhow, I took a concealed weapons class to get my permit and it just so happened that the instructor(Jim Tice, jr.) was the President the local St. Augustine Practical Shooting Association. He suggested I check it out so I guess it's all his fault??? To date I have purchased several handguns, 4 AR's, Reloading bench, press, casefeeder etc., etc.. Currently shooting production with my Glock 17 and will try SS with my Kimber Pro Carry. I am also itchin' to get a Limited Blaster. I have a ton of questions and will try to post to the proper place. I must say all the shooters I have met just seem to be the friendly and helpful type. Thanks for listening, Dave Lagasse A-66888
  16. I'm having the same problem with my Kimber pro carry II. I have a feeling I should have bought a pistol with a fully ramped barrel.
