  1. I'm not sure what the spring weight is. I know it is a lighter than the factory spring.
  2. RPatton, the slide cocks the hammer and stops there. It won't blow back far enough to even stove pipe the case.
  3. Here are the pictures. I don't know that the shock buff would be the problem. The guy I bought it from ran it that way and I ran a couple hundred rounds through it.
  4. Bear with me. The pictures are on my phone and the files are too large. I'll get this figured out.
  5. Here are some pictures of the slide and comp. There is a buffer and it looks clean between the comp and slide. I have tried different grips and it doesn't seem to change. It was working fine but started 2 outings ago.
  6. I have a Colt 1911 with a comped barrel. It is new to me and has started not cycling. I thought it was due to not having enough power in the loads. I loaded some hotter and tried them today and am getting the same results. It has a reduced power recoil spring and the previous owner used 4.2 gr of Titegroup and I had it all the way up to 5 gr. It seems to me like it is the cocking of the hammer that is holding it up. I have to manually cycle the slide for every round and it chambers and closes just fine.
  7. I'd be up for some airsoft AP this winter! I could do that out in my workshop.
  8. It made since to me when I heard it. There is already a "production" division but the metallic guns don't fit under that but must have metallic sights.
  9. Our dates will be approved tonight at our clubs annual meeting. Then I will get a copy.
  10. Maybe we need a rum and coke emoticon.
  11. Thanks everyone for your responsesupport on this and other topics. It has been a great help!
  12. What distance should I set my stick shift up for on the mover? I haven't had a chance to use it on a mover yet but I would guess it wouldn't be dead center at all yardages.
  13. I might paint it just in case it does fall off. I would like to take the shroud off and polish it up or paint it but the guy I bought it from is adamant that I don't for fear of stripping the screws since they are so short.
  14. It is a single stack 1911 in .38 super. I have the Barricade mount with stick shift. I ordered the G&B Custom slide racker from Brownells.
  15. I am testing out a used CR Speed holster for my new to me open gun. I dropped it the other day on my first outing. I thought it was clipped good but it wasn't. Is there a holster that is better or all they all walking a fine line of falling out?
  16. I just ordered a slide racker for my pistol. Now I am wondering if I will have to remove it to remove the slide for cleaning? Any ideas from anyone? It is hard and awkward to rack the slide especially when the hammer is down.
  17. Metalform with flat or round follower?
  18. We currently only do 3 courses. The 3rd alternates between barricade and practical every other month.
  19. Maybe I could talk my local club into trying some of the other courses. I wonder if clubs are scared of losing shooters if they stray from the 4.
  20. So will this be in addition to or replacing the old barricade event? I have seen those other courses of fire but have never heard of anyone shooting them.
  21. And you get to keep shooting at the targets until you hit them all.
  22. I didn't think about that. That would be extra tough. I guess you could create an extended magazine pad. Maybe one of the "elite" will complain and get their way about being able to change their pad for that CoF.
  23. I have done a search and can't find much on the magazine base pads to use with a prone pad/magwell. I just acquired an open gun and I'm pretty sure it has the Protocol Design prone pad on it. What magazines work best with it? It is .38 super. I have several Wilson mags but the base pads are too wide and won't fit in the magwell.
  24. I don't know that I want reloads in AP. It's about accuracy not defensive gun handling like reloads.
  25. Sierra used to have really good deals on blemished bullets in bulk. It would be off color or would have the ballistic tip in wrong. They are sold by the pound. They also had what they called floor sweep. It would be all different calibers and weights. I have heard that it`s not as good of a deal as it used to be but if your already there it would probably save a few bucks.
