  1. I looked at my lifter today and the end was straight. Looks like I will remove it and "tweak" the end of a 8 degree downward "bend". Thanks, Hoover
  2. I believe that you will be pleased. I was surprised the first time that I used them. Thanks, Hoover 1
  3. Wolf slugs work fine out of my Benelli and the recoil seems to be the same or less than the reduced recoil slugs from either Remington or Federal. Thanks, Hoover
  4. I experienced a similar after I replaced my lifter with a welded up one. I felt that it was due to the low recoil ammo that I was testing. I think that I will return to the original lifter and see what happens. Thanks, Hoover
  5. Many thanks for the photos. The rear sight is really high! I may give this a try. And I'll pass on the picture lessons. I am almost as good right now! Again thanks, Hoover
  6. Thanks for the information. Thanks, Hoover
  7. Interesting! How much difficulty was it to fit the 1022 rear sight to the barrel dove tail? Thanks, Hoover
  8. Thanks, I guess that I need to get the rear notch on the bolt carrier welded. Thanks, Hoover
  9. Very true. It seems like everyone these days thinks that they are a "tough guy". Thanks, Hoover
  10. Thanks for the feedback. Based on everything, my plans are to try a modified choke and see how that affects the POI. If still 5-6 inches low at 25 yards, I plan to reduce the front sight height by about .030 inches and see how it does. I would rather file a little and try it and find out that I still need to file a bit more than to file a lot and find out that the gun shoots high. Thanks, Hoover
  11. Thanks Big Brown Dog. How low was your shotgun shooting? How much did you have to remove from the front sight? Thanks, Hoover
  12. Thanks for the help guys. I tried sighting it in at 50 yards today based on your recommendations. I used Winchester LR Ranger, Federal Truball, Federal Hydra Shok, Wolf "standard" and Winchester "standard" slugs. I was using an Improved Cylinder choke. All the low recoil slugs grouped about 8 inches low and the standard slug grouped about 6 inches low at 50 yards. Any suggestions on whether to try a modified or cylinder choke to see if it would affect the point of impact? Been shooting since I was in the military a long, long time ago(when the standard issue rifle was the M14!), but relatively new to semi auto shotguns. Any suggestions are appreciated. Thanks, Hoover
  13. WTK: Sighting in a Benelli M1 Super 90 Shotgun with Rifle Sights Helping a buddy sight in a Benelli M1 Super 90 rifle sighted shotgun that he recently purchased. At 25 yards, using a number of various manufacturers slugs, it was shooting about 5 inches low and 4 inched to the right. Windage was pretty easy to adjust by loosening up the set screws and drifting the rear sight. Other than filing down the front sight, are there any other suggestions that the board experts have to lower the point of aim? I was hoping that there may be some different height rear inserts that could raise or lower the rear sight but have been unable to locate any. Thanks, Don
  14. Same results for me. Very good accuracy and reasonible recoil. Thanks, Hoover
  15. What was the interference/fit up issue and what had to be done to fix it? Thanks, Hoover
  16. New to the forum. Just found this forum and it seems like a good place to hang out. Thanks, Hoover
  17. WTK: Benelli M1 Firing Pin Retaining Pin O-Ring Does anyone know the dimensions / material of the Benelli M1 Firing Pin Retaining Pin O-Ring? I figure it would be good to put a few in the spare parts box. Thanks, Hoover
  18. Thanks for the feedback. Is is OK to simply remove the stock and flood the tube/mainspring with cleaning solvent/Breakfree or should the tube/mainspring be disassembled and cleaned that way? Thanks, Hoover
  19. Nice website that you have here. Recently a buddy picked up a used Benelli M1 at a local gun show. Gun has had some use (the rear of the receiver was particularly dirty) but appears not to have been abused. It is a stock gun, nothing hanging off of it. It really likes full power 2 3/4 inch slugs and 00 Buck and will function with low brass "Dove" loads. When he tried Fiocchi Low Recoil (1150 FPS, part #12LE00BK) rounds, the first round fires and ejects ok, but the bolt fails to go back far enough (looks to be about 1/4 inch short) to pick up the second round. After clearing this round, the remaining rounds feed/fire/eject OK. This has happened twice each time on the second round. It has been really cold here (20 degrees when we were shooting) and the FTF has happened on the second round after the weapon has been sitting on the bench for some time. Temperature related? He feels that he cleaned it really good after getting it, but it appears some recommend removing the butt pad / stock and flushing the recoil assembly to get all the old lube, rust, etc out. Could the mag spring be contributing to the issue? With the end cap removed, it sits 7 inches beyond the end of the tube. It appears that some recommend 12 - 13 inches. Any additional thoughts from the board experts? Thanks, Hoover
