  1. I called them they said send the Xrail back and get there mag extension that there clam will not work on the Xrail because it measures 1.123 and Nordic is 1.06. If it will work I would use the Nordic clamp on the Xrail ?

    Thanks,Keith

I just used a Nordic clamp on my M2 with the RCI/Xrail mag tube this past weekend at Blue Ridge. It may not be a perfect fit, but it will work. I would suggest going with the Nordic mag extension though, its not quite as beefy, but it's lighter. I've also experienced some minor interior rust with the RCI tube. Normally I run a Nordic tube, but needed something shorter for Blue Ridge.

  2. Just had a look at several of the stages. Getting ready for some humility. Crazy...

    There's that confidence booster I needed :(

Looking forward to seeing you & many other friends. Wednesday can't get here fast enough to point that truck North!!!

Yeah, I've had about all the humility I can stand this year. Maybe I'll switch to "light" cigarettes for the match. That should help, right?

  3. I don't think the prize tables are as important as they're being made out to be, but I think they add to the overall experience. I'm still pretty new to 3 Gun, never finished higher than 40th at major and I've always left with some cool gear. So yeah I finish shooting the match feeling like I got my teeth kicked in, but then go to the prize table and still get something pretty cool, it really enhances the total experience. I love the competition and additional creativity required in 3 gun, but I'm not really good at it, so getting a couple hundred bucks worth of gear softens the blow when you see your name at #100+.

  4. I ran into a Beretta rep that told me the A400 fore end and butt stock would interchange with the 1301's. I was also informed that you can interchange the barrel with an A400, but I forgot to ask if you could shoot 3.5" shells with a barrel swap.

I emailed Beretta about switching barrels because I would like a longer barrel for hunting. They emailed me back and said

that they were not interchangeable. I would like to know, because i was going to get a A400 instead.

I know this sounds crazy, but reply to their email and have them check with a tech, the CS reps don't know jack. I went through this last week asking about the carrier/lifter for the 1301 to see if it was the same as the A400. Initially I was told "no, it's a unique part". I called BS and asked them to check with a tech and get me a part number, turns out they were the exact same part. I will say that Beretta was surprisingly quick to respond, even after I asked them to check with a tech, I got an answer same day.

  5. There is a simple solution to those who sent personal checks WHO KNOW THE CHECKS HAVE NOT BEN CASHED, go to your bank and put a stop payment on the check. $15-$20 to recover $250.

True, that's what I've done. But I think an even simpler solution would have been if those who have the checks and were collecting the money to have been a little more forthcoming with info as to why the match was cancelled and what is taking so long to issue refunds. Like others have said, a lot of the checks have not been cashed. How long does it take to drop it in an envelope, write and address and put a stamp on it? No I didn't lose any money (save the cancelled check fee), I did lose the time and ability to schedule another match. The "refund" date has come and gone and I haven't heard anything, except from someone who says they don't make decisions, only do what they're told. Sorry, but they don't get a pass on this til they make it right, which at this point I'm not brimming over with confidence is going to happen.

  6. Yeah I had to sand mine a little to get the gen 3 mags to work. After thinking about it, I see no real issue with hogging that bad boy out a little more. to make the 40 fit. It's a mag well, it's only real function is to guide the mag, so I don't think removing those raised portions (or at least cutting them down) should have any negative effects. Then again I've been wrong before.

  7. Well this has pretty much gone to hell in a hand basket. Misty we understand you are the admin, I'd say it's about time to give up whomever is the decision maker and come clean on what the deal is. I understand loyalty, but you're basically getting scapegoated. So unless you're sitting at home with all of our checks, what gives? I am sorry that there are idiots making threats, but at the same time I understand their frustration. Whether you are the responsible party or not, you are the face and mouthpiece of the whole deal, so folks are going to associate you with their $$.

We're a small community, people talk, and right now the rumor mill is working overtime. That and given how folks like to post their lives on facebook (have you seen my dog's new outfit), it would be very easy for people to assume the worst right now. I'm sorry you're at the front of it, but if you're not the one we should be talking to, who is?

  8. you can go to redneck tactical on FB, click on the possumwerks album, there should be basic pics of loading port mods and how I do them, it may not be the 1301 but the work is still done the same way.

    Trapr

    Thanks Trapr, That's definitely helpful.

  9. I don't understand why they cut the front of the port they way they did, it's cut backwards of how it should be. There's not much material to work with there, I'm guessing I'll end up getting into the mag tube a little bit. I'm a little reluctant as I have turned an M2 receiver into a paperweight by getting overzealous with the dremel. This will likely be a hand file job. I may just end up lowering the port on the drivers side as that's really the side I need lower to be able to rotate the shells in weak handed. I'm hoping someone else will take the plunge first and post pics.

  10. I think the slug thing varies from gun to gun across all mfgs. Kind of a crapshoot with which guns shoot will shoot them well out of the box. I do like that the rib tapers down near the chamber, perfect for cutting in a rear sight if needed.

I actually ordered a lifter from Brownells yesterday and had it sent straight to C-rums.

One thing I am a little worried about, if you cut the loading port down much, you get into the serial#. I may end up with a lopsided port.

  11. I don't know about you guys, but I'm packing like I always do. A case of shotgun shells, 300 or so pistol, 300 or so rifle, and a few boxes of slugs. Knowing round counts is nice, but I always end up taking about the same amount of stuff.

I guess if you have to ship ammo, you may need a better figure.

This will be my first time at FB, so I'm looking forward to it!!

  12. Picked up the 1301 today. Initial impression is pretty good.

For those that already have one, have you done any additional work to the loading port? I load weakhand and it seems like the front of the port may need a little rounding (for me). I've only played with it for about 30 min, but was having a lot of shells nosedive/jam into the port instead of the mag. Seemed like they need a little more up angle to get in than on a benelli. Taking it to the range tomorrow to see how it shoots.
