  1. engaging pistol targets while rappelling off the sniper tower???

Funny that you mention this because we actually looked at doing just that. However, and unfortunately it's not going to happen this year. You will however do some other things while shooting and some other things on the tower stage :)

John, buddy, you hearing this? I'm hoping for maybe a long rifle shot while harnessed in and hanging out over the edge?!? Don't worry, we're gonna rid you of that damn heights thing. :roflol:

  2. I accidentally dropped my rifle off a table while sighting in. It fell on the scope (Razor) on concrete. It knocked the windage off 1 moa, that's it. I wouldn't suggest repeating that experiment, but I'd say it's durable. Not to mention the hundreds of times I've spiked my rifle in dump barrels and never had the zero move a bit.

  3. Can I usually buy an extra spring for the nordic? In case I cut the first one too short?

(feel free to comment "I have the Nordic +3 and cut the spring X inches past the end of the tube and it works great"....I would appreciate this input!)

Absolutely. I usually buy them 3 at a time. I think I usually count 13 coils past the end of the tube. Not sure why 13, I think I heard it somewhere, seems to work. If you cut it too short, it will work for a while, the crap out at an inopportune time. A good reason to buy multiples.

  4. Getting in and out of B'ham is a piece of cake. It's so much smaller than ATL, one terminal, one baggage claim. And of course Southwest rocks. I think drive time to Blakely is about the same. It's about 3.5 - 4 hours with over half of that being two lane roads. You may have more rental car options in ATL, but if you make reservations it doesn't matter. Birmingham is also much easier to get out of.

I know some guys flew into Dothan, but that's likely and expensive connection.

Tallahasse is only 1.5 hrs from Blakely. Never been to the airport, but it might be an option.

  5. What the heck...? Why am I being charged sales tax on a match fee???

I kinda wondered the same thing, but am unfamiliar with NC tax code. I'm not upset, but it would have been nice to know beforehand(it very well may have been posted and I missed it). Maybe an explanation for good measure as I've never seen sales tax associated with any match fee. I have always been under the impression that a match fee was a service which in Alabama, is not taxed.

  6. Rules! I normally hate rules, but some freakin rules would really help shooter's decision making related to these matches.

Post the rules about the semi-pro scores in regionals. Rules about prize table distribution.

Post a solid set of rules, let everyone see them, mull them over, and then open registration.

Yes! Hearing this talk of planned "changes" that haven't been publicized doesn't leave me feeling all warm and fuzzy. Before we play the registration game again, tell us all what we're signing up for.

And more importantly, once they're posted, stick to and adhere to the rules for the season, no changes after people have spent $ to compete under the rules that were set at registration only to be changed later.

Moving the goalposts ain't cool. Even the perception of it happening should be very troubling. A good reason why a complete and published rule set prior to kicking this thing off is the only right way to do it. Taking the time to do it right will pay dividends in the future and prevent a lot of hurt feelings and headaches.
