I accidentally dropped my rifle off a table while sighting in. It fell on the scope (Razor) on concrete. It knocked the windage off 1 moa, that's it. I wouldn't suggest repeating that experiment, but I'd say it's durable. Not to mention the hundreds of times I've spiked my rifle in dump barrels and never had the zero move a bit.

There are no bays. It's all open terrain. It's a farm.

I didn't get to shoot this last year, but my favorite would have been the one that caused the most pain by the end of the 240 seconds.
That was actually pretty hard to judge. The pain of each stage seemed to erase the memory of the previous one.

Can I usually buy an extra spring for the nordic? In case I cut the first one too short?
(feel free to comment "I have the Nordic +3 and cut the spring X inches past the end of the tube and it works great"....I would appreciate this input!)
Absolutely. I usually buy them 3 at a time. I think I usually count 13 coils past the end of the tube. Not sure why 13, I think I heard it somewhere, seems to work. If you cut it too short, it will work for a while, the crap out at an inopportune time. A good reason to buy multiples.

Getting in and out of B'ham is a piece of cake. It's so much smaller than ATL, one terminal, one baggage claim. And of course Southwest rocks. I think drive time to Blakely is about the same. It's about 3.5 - 4 hours with over half of that being two lane roads. You may have more rental car options in ATL, but if you make reservations it doesn't matter. Birmingham is also much easier to get out of.
I know some guys flew into Dothan, but that's likely and expensive connection.
Tallahasse is only 1.5 hrs from Blakely. Never been to the airport, but it might be an option.

Just curious if there is any idea with payment emails will start going out?
Just go to members page on 3gn, go to events, select 2014, find event then hit details. It will take you to a page that will give you a link to pay.
I was promoted into the MW match, but don't have that payment option on the 3GN page. So I guess I'm waiting for the e-invoice

The suburban-mover and pistol gongs-up the tower with the ammo can stage...my 1st favorite.
You sir are sick and twisted . . . I had flashbacks just walking up them this past weekend at SE3GC
The stage with the skedco was pretty cool, that may have been my second favorite.

If you moved before the beep, it was a 5 sec procedural. For Jessie, it was probably a wash as he was ready to pull the trigger the second the beep went off.

The house was pretty cool, you just don't get to do that anywhere else. I really enjoyed the stage spread out on the police pistol bays (three bays, each gun).
-
Ok, I guess I am stupid.. how the hell do I pay??
I'm stupid too. Apparently you sign into the 3GN site, then go to the page for the match you want to pay for. It will have the option.
-
So how do we pay?
-
Damn, got promoted into Midwest, but not Southeast, which was the one I really wanted to shoot.
-
Wow, that was a GREAT match! Big thanks to Aaron, Daniel and the rest of the AMU guys. Super fun stages, both fast and challenging. Sponsors were super generous! This will definitely be on my must shoot list next year.

When I log in to 3GN POWERED BY RANGELOG, it shows I'm registered for the regional at Rockcastle. I think you guys still have some bugs to fix.
Me too.

Tossed your bead??? Do you mean that in the English way??
My bad, wrong forum. I have no idea what you're talking about
-
Am I the only one that tossed their mid bead?

What the heck...? Why am I being charged sales tax on a match fee???
I kinda wondered the same thing, but am unfamiliar with NC tax code. I'm not upset, but it would have been nice to know beforehand(it very well may have been posted and I missed it). Maybe an explanation for good measure as I've never seen sales tax associated with any match fee. I have always been under the impression that a match fee was a service which in Alabama, is not taxed.

In the mail. Looking forward to going back to Lake of the Ozarks!

Maybe I'm missing it in the rules, I understand the scoring will be time plus. But does that mean for the entire match, meaning a running time total(aggregate), or will each stage be scored separately assigning stage points based on each shooters stage time? Am I making sense?

Did this thing really just fill up in less than a minute? I submitted my registration pretty much right at 6(central) so I wouldn't forget and my registration status is "waitlist"
I think that everyone is wait listed at first and then they move people into the match.
Ahh, gotcha.

Rules! I normally hate rules, but some freakin rules would really help shooter's decision making related to these matches.
Post the rules about the semi-pro scores in regionals. Rules about prize table distribution.
Post a solid set of rules, let everyone see them, mull them over, and then open registration.
Yes! Hearing this talk of planned "changes" that haven't been publicized doesn't leave me feeling all warm and fuzzy. Before we play the registration game again, tell us all what we're signing up for.
And more importantly, once they're posted, stick to and adhere to the rules for the season, no changes after people have spent $ to compete under the rules that were set at registration only to be changed later.
Moving the goalposts ain't cool. Even the perception of it happening should be very troubling. A good reason why a complete and published rule set prior to kicking this thing off is the only right way to do it. Taking the time to do it right will pay dividends in the future and prevent a lot of hurt feelings and headaches.

Jesse, where will it be posted?

John, buddy, you hearing this? I'm hoping for maybe a long rifle shot while harnessed in and hanging out over the edge?!? Don't worry, we're gonna rid you of that damn heights thing.
