  1. The only thing being used in both setups is the powder measure and charge bar.
  2. If I change out the hammer, springs, and put in a meatl trigger, will I be able to use it in production class? I'm hoping to start shooting some matches in the spring.
  3. Any ideas? Just getting started and I would like to watch some matches to get an idea what to expect.
  4. I've been toying with the idea of having TFO sights put on my 92. Just hate to not have ithandy for a few days.
  5. How hard is the polishing and is there a how-to guide for it?
  6. Thanks, I'll be sure to tell him how to fix it. Steve
  7. A buddy has a sringfield GI model 45 that dents all brassejected under fire. is this a problem we should be concerned with? the dents all seem to be about an 1/8" or so below mouth.
  8. H-110 for .357 and 700x for 9mm. using diff toolheads/powdefunnels for both
  9. Can you change it to 25 yrds?
  10. Can you change it to 25 yrds?
  11. I'm thinking about doing a trigger job on my 92FS and was wondering about the 92D spring? does it make a difference in the pull/feel? Or should I get a complete kit? Also, who makes the best kit/parts?
  12. I just got a chance to check, and I was right. I had thought I used 2 different powder funnels for loading and I had. I don't think static is the problem. I used a seperate powder funnel for each caliber. Any ideas? Could it be something with my measure or charge bar?
  13. I'll try the cleaning and drier sheet first. Maybe the funnel built up static while being bagged/shipped. The funnel is new, replaced when I set up my 550B. I haven't loaded any bottleneck cases, only 9mm and .357 mag.
  14. I've loaded both 9mm & .357. It happens with both cases and both spherical and flake powder. Sorry I didn't mention that.
  15. Is it normal for a small amount of powder to drop after the case is out of the powder die? This is happening when the case is about .5 inch below the die. I bought my press used & the powder bar shows signs of wear. I cleaned the bearing surfaces with alcohol and lubes it with dry graphite. Is it something to do with my stroke or could the powder bar be worn out? Any help is greatly appreciated.
  16. yeah, that's what I meant. I haven't bought one yet, but thinking about it.
  17. I have 3 and want more!!! I added rubber I added pearce rubber bumper pads to the floor plates on all of mine to help protect the thin metal floorplate. I shoot in a very sandy area and love being able to tap them on something to keep them clean. I've shot everything from 115 to 147gr FMJ's and JHP's through them. How much are they on sale for?
  18. While lurking over the last week or so, I ran across a thread that siad the Baretta 90-two is allowed in competition. What is the reasoning for this? I have handled several of them and love the feel of it. For a polymer frame gune, it has a good heft. Being an old jarhead, I like the heavier guns and eventually plan on get a 1911 to build. any help with this will be greatly appreciated. Steve
  19. I'll be using the XTP's for deer and other game like that...soft skinned. The LFN's will be used for hogs only. Never know when you'll be backpedaling and having to fire point blank at them. Seems to happen fairly often with me and my friends when we hunt hogs. Are the Lazer-cut cast bullets accurate? On a different topic...which competition is the easiest to get started in? I know we have some IDPA shoots around here (North Mississippi). Does anybody know of others? I would like to use either my S&W 27 or my 92fs to start with.
  20. Thanks for the info on the xtp's. This may be a stupid question, but is there any popwder that burns clean behind lead bullets or do they all smoke pushing lead? How good are the lazer-cut LFN's? Thinking about loading them for hog hunting. I know this is mainly a competition forum, but I figured with all the expertise I've seen on here, ya'll would be able to answer with no problems. Steve
  21. I'm looking to develop a couple of hunting loads for my S&W 27, .357. I've done searches on here looking for the info I need and couldn't find what I needed. Going by the Lee book, it says to use h110 to produce the highest velocities. The question I have is it a clean powder when loaded to 15gr. behind the 158 gr. barnes xtp? Also, I'm looking to load a 158 gr. LRN with 13.9 gr. of Herc 2400. Is this a clean powder? If they aren't, could you let me know if there are cleaner powders out there for these loads? Any help will be greatly appreciated. BTW...the charges are the minimums in the Lee book. Steve
  22. I just joined the forum. I was wondering if ya'll have any opinions on hp-38 in 9mm? Is it a clean burning powder? Right now I'm just loading for practice and really tired of buying reloads that are extremely dirty. Planning on loading MG 124 jhp. Any info/load data would be greatly appreciated. BTW...did search and came up with data using other powders.
