  1. Its a rule in a game. If you dont like the rules dont play the game.

Just this weekend I was shooting and doing a reload with retention on my revolver. While setting up for the stage a friend suggested that I put my partial moon clip in my empty gun holster while reaching for a new clip. It all worked out ok until I had to run from that position and the clip fell out... Lesson learned, I will be using my pockets from now on.

  2. I have been a reload as needed for the last few years. When I got started I would borrow a friends SDB and load 2k in a weekend and then give it back. I recently got set up to run 45 ACP. Befor the parts arrived I loaded up 1500 rounds to prepare for the caliber switch. I'm going to stockpile some 45 ACP before I switch back.

  3. I have been using a dillon chamber gauge to check the rounds then I clip them and drop them in the cylinder. If they do all that they pass. The taper crimp rounds have been dropping much better than they left over roll crimp rounds I had made before. Seeing as how I can not roll crimp on a square deal B I will stick with taper. I was just trying to see what people use in their 625s.

  4. I had some 45 ACP loaded up by a legit business before I managed to get my SDB set up in 45. At the advice of a friend who shoots a 625 I had him put a roll crimp on. The rounds didn't feed into the cylinder all that well on the clips.

I just ran my first 100 rounds through my SDB and they feed in great. My question is do you use a roll or taper crimp in your 625.

  5. I had to DQ a young shooter once. It was a gun on the table start and the shooter just sat down and took his gun out without instruction. It was my first DQ and it sucked that it was a young shooter. The kid took it like a man though and I don't think he will make that mistake again. Now if only some of the adults I shoot with could take penalties like him.

  6. I case gauge every round. I use junk range brass and generally have about a 5% failure rate. I use the rounds that fail for practice. The difference between my case gauge and chamber is laughable. For giggles I dropped in some fresh starline I had loaded for a sanctioned match and the was lots of play. I also use the case gauge step as one last check for high primers or a 380 that might have gotten through. I hate those damn things.

  7. I got started on a S&W Sigma. (pause for dramatic gasping noises) It did have a very heavy, long and vague trigger pull. I made the best of what I had and learned to shoot it as fast as I could. When I finally switched to the M&P pro it was like night and day. I believe the trigger disciplin I learned on my sigma made me a better shooter. I do have people cringe and gasp when they feel my stock M&P pro trigger. It feels fine to me comparative to what I have had...

  8. If you have not seen the ultimate clip loader from McFadden I suggest it. It loads a full mag in just seconds and saves the thumbs big time...

I have the threaded barrel version for running my new gemtech outback II and I love it. I have a cheap tasco from Walmart on there for plinking for now. It holds a zero and hits 8" plates at 100 yards so ill keep it for now. I do not run steel challenge or anything. Its manly a pest control device.

  9. I recently picked up a used caliber conversion for 45ACP and the depriming assembly is bent. It looks like it got bent when attempting to drive the broken depriming pin out. The remnants of the pin at badly peened and it looks like theres no way to get it to pass through the retainer without grinding the tip off. I should just get a new assembly and not even toy with it right? I would think it needs to be fairly true in order to hit the cent of the primer. Overall though I am happy with the conversion i picked up for the price I paid for it.

  10. Adjusting the hopup should allow you to change the low hits. It's more than likely a little lever on the side of where the chamber would be on a real barrel. As for the gun only shootIng two rounds. Was this after extended firing? The mags get really cold as the gas expands and the mags will freeze up and the gasket at the top of the mag will stiffen up and cause the gun not to run. Be sure to use green gas since it has silicone in it to keep the gun lube up. You can get an adapter to run the gun on propane but that will cause you to need to lube. It will also make the gun at higher pressures and might be bad for the gun.

Sorry I used to play some air soft at an indoor arena. You should see my mp5k run. 22.5 rounds a second will light people up real quick when they are running a bone stock gun. Anything I put the little red dot on got hit.
