  1. I can't imagine shooting Open without reloading.

You can just mount a JP or Doctor red dot and shoot the 35. You will be major with the right ammo but you won't enjoy the benefits of a compensated gun.

  2. I believe changing the caliber of the pistola is still against the rules for any division except Open. So, even if you did change your 34 to .40, it wouldn't be legal.

Having said that, the 34 and 35 frames are the same as mentioned above, so I don't know why a complete slide switch wouldn't be okay. You'd probably want to change the ejector, too.

After you price out a complete slide assembly, you'll probably feel like you might as well just get the whole gun.

  3. Hey! I just had this realization while I was in my office doing some reading. The magazine I was reading had TGO doing a reload and the magazine was falling out of the gun while the other hand was almost inserting a mag.

For some reason it dawned on me that I was trying to release the mag before moving my stupid hand. I thought maybe I would drop my time if I moved my hand first and then hit the button. So I flushed and went to get my gear on.

I just got done practicing with my Kimber with no funnel, and KY-TAC mag pouches and was beating my 1.5 sec par time. I am not the quickest person on the planet so that felt freaking fast! (Considering my old times were around 2 seconds, it felt like I was waiting for the mag to leave the gun before I moved to get the new mag)

Feeling pretty good about my times, I haven't shot USPSA yet, but I think this summer I will be trying it out.

With duty rig I am a bit slower, having to unbutton the snap seems to take forever! <_<

"So I flushed and went to get my gear on."

I love it when inspiration strikes.

Seriously, thanks for the tips, I will try to move my stupid hand and let the smart hand obey at will.

  4. Jeff B and Jim B persuaded me to help them with an ICORE match at the Atlanta CC, IN, last fall. We had nearly thirty shooters from all the nearby states. I didn't even get to shoot, just helped set up and co-ordinate some of my USPSA buddies to help RO.

I'd like to learn to shoot the revolver.

My heartfelt belief is that if you aren't shooting USPSA/IPSC, well...

IPSC is no1, ICORE no2, NRA for fun and practice.

  5. Thanks again for the replies, now you have given me more things to think about.

Flex, I'm not adding to the stash. I'm trying to find something to shoot this year, and yes revo at the BEBlast is a consideration.

Thanks Angus. I was already confused enough. :)

  6. I missed it,but my daughter said the lead "singer" from Black-eyed peas snatched the cowboyhat off Charlie Daniel's head. And CD was not happy about it and snatched it right back.

My wife and I were singing along to PM, our 13 year old daughter wasn't too sure about that...

  7. Hey Flex how come we're not seeing the name "Lucky" under G17 Raiders icon? :D

Sorry to rub it in G17R. But now you are wiser.

I had some light hit problems last fall, it all boiled down to LOM (Lack of Maintenence). My firing pin channel, and everything else, was filthy. After a good detail strip everything was fine. If you don't know how to do this, that Glock armorers video is how I learned, plus some pictures. I was as scared as a rookie on Superbowl Sunday the first time, but after the that it was no big deal.

Moral: Even G's need cleaning, especially when shot alot as IPSC'ers tend to do.

  8. I saw one of these recently at my gunshop. I think it was this, it had a lock that you pushed with your finger as you drew.

It was really slick and I would have bought it on the spot but my G35 with a Dawson fiber-optic front sight didn't fit, because of the front sight.

Anyone else see this? I wish I was wrong because I liked the holster.
