  1. Hey George D, you may be kidding about the "out to pasture" stuff, but today I was so frustrated, I couldn't beleive I was running .25 splits, couldn't get any faster. Doh! new minor load and I haven't lightened the spring to accomodate the virtually zero recoil. Just because the slide cycled doesn't mean it was working well. I know I am well into the teens with my major load.  I guess my point is that even a tyro's equipment can signifigantly effect performance.

  2. Thanks NH. I can only blame myself, I was the only one of 50 that DQ'd. I am going to think about that holster idea though, I was shooting Lim and using my racy holster, but I'm wondering if I get good with a more regular holster (like a Blade- tech), how often would it really hurt me? I guess the big question mark is "if I get good with". Hmm. Hmmmm.

  3. Sitting, facing up range, fling the chair as you rise (so you can open the door 180 behind you) but hook the chair on the butt of your gun! Which one flew further, the chair or your blaster? Match DQ. Irony? I skipped one match because they haven't been sending in the classifiers to attend this one. And I shot a really decent score on a difficult classifier, and it won't get sent in either because of the match DQ. Sigh. Moral? If you have a holster lock consider using it when doing alot of movement before you draw (ie standing, turning, throwing chairs, looking like an idiot)...

  4. Ah, silicone, another wonderful substance (like teflon). I used to work for Dow Corning. Thanks guys, if I get to the point where I feel my holster is holding me back I'll just go ahead and drill the SOB and get a Ghost. Right now the Hogue is probably 39th on the list of things to be improved, preceded by 35 or so non equipment items. Didn't mean to hijack your thread. Glock 35 is pretty darn good right out of box. Matt at CGR has been great to work with for the mods.

  5. Yah,aye! That Ghost holster is real cool, but you have to drill that hole in the trigger guard right? It's not that I'm so worried about ruining the "BEAUTY" of the Glock, I just want to keep it legal for L,L10 and US PRODUCTION. USPSA production rules say no external  mods. Now, is the tiny lttle hole in the trigger guard going to make your Glock illegal for USPSA production class? I don't  know, but I'm sure mine won't be because I don't have one. Having said that, i have to stress the importance of the teflon tape, ya gotta find somewhere it's useful, range bag, cat's paws,  something...:)

  6. Mostly  agreeing here in that a LeeFCD for .40 works well if you are using mixed brass. A wise old hand also shared with me that Redding dies resize a little further down the case than other brands, works for me but haven't tried anything else. Have also noticed that loaded rounds that are fine in a Dillion case checker (backwards or forwards) don't necessarilly feed in a Bar-sto Glock barrell, so I case check by letting them "tink" onto the feedramp and slide into the Bar-sto. With a proper crimp things have been feeding well.

  7. I've been using a THE brass magwell from CGR, it has a big mouth and adds weight. Twenty rounds of .40 adds weight too, however. Anyway I like it. I don't know if I'd buy one ON PuRPOSE, but I've been using a Hogue Powerspeed with two magnets and the back half of the safety lock lever removed AND teflon tape covering the magnets. Gotta have that. Ok, I do use the teflon tape but I'm just kidding about having to have it....

  8. The width on my HiViz is .125". I cut the fiber tube off so that it is recessed in the tube holder, I don't like the big ball, too much light. I am using the stock adjustable rears, I know Flex hates them because of the gaps, but it appears as a solid to me when I shoot. This combination seems to leave an acceptable amount of light around front post for distance aiming,  along with a black outline on the front notch if you cut down the tube. Not the best setup I'm sure, but it does give you 1-a smaller FO dot  2-black outline for longer shots 3-enough light around front notch for quicker aquisition. If you come up with a nice narrow fiber optic, please let us all know.

  9. Ah, going a little fast for that even if we had a camera. I think it could be done though. Funny I never noticed it before (we passed the same point yesterday, and other times). Maybe it was just an Enoverse time-warp thingy.
