  1. So I decided on 2 phones. I'm getting a Galaxy SIII for myself and a Nexus for my wife. I think they will work out just about perfect for our needs and desires.
  2. Have one and LOVE it. Its a tack driver for a cheap rifle. 55gr Vmax bullets will put down 1/4-1/2" groups depending on wind and your shooting skills. I would buy another in a heartbeat. Its one of my favorite rifles I own because I can go out and shoot tiny groups with it while guys with high dollar setups can't touch it next bench over. It never ceases to impress me.
  3. I would start by going to www.newegg.com and check out the Klipsch Icon WF-35's. They're a $1500 per pair speaker system that is marked down to $349 per speaker. Buy a WC-24 center to match in either the reddish colored speaker, or the espresso which is brownish. They're REALLY nice speakers that will reproduce just about anything well even with a low wattage receiver. As for receivers, I'd start with Pioneer, Onkyo, Yamaha, and a few others but those are my main 3 and in that order. I'm in the market for a new pioneer receiver myself and I'm looking at the VSX-1121-K for its connectivity and other options. You can get it for the $500 range. After that check out www.lavasubs.com and look at a 12" subwoofer. If you want to drop money on a REALLY nice sub, check out HSU subs or SVS subs. Those latter two are beautiful subs that do amazing. Lava is a bit more budget but its one of the best bang for the bucks you can buy for a quality sub at the moment. If you want a full 5.1 system, your rear 2 are your call, but the Icon W bookshelves will match and are a great deal at newegg.com as well. Lastly, go to www.monoprice.com and check out the banana plugs and 14ga or better speaker wire. I have used all of the above gear and if you want an amazing home theater that'll knock your socks off for the $1500 range, that will be a setup that you can use for the next 10+ years or so. Your only bottle neck in the future would be the receiver depending on how connections go in the next decade or so. My reciver is almost 12 years old and people still say how good my system sounds when they come over for a movie because I bought one of the best at the time. You can get so deep in audio as well as any hobby, but the things I listed above would go $700 front mains (Klipsch Icon WF-35's) $229 for center (matching your mains and this is IMPORTANT) $399 shipped for sub (12" Lava sub shipped) $499 for receiver (Pioneer I quoted above) $199 rear WB-14 speakers (Also Klipsch) so $1800 shipped for everything. That will literally be a theater quality setup that if you have a blu-ray player and a few HDMI cables with a decent TV, you'll never have to leave for a movie again. I'm always blown away at the quality and I have just about that exact setup with a different receiver and a dual sub setup. My rears are 5.25" 2 way carbon fiber bookshelf speakers that don't match the front but thats less important. The main thing not to skimp on are your main front 3 speakers, and your sub. Your rear surrounds and receiver you can get away with some cheaper gear but DON'T skimp on the things I mentioned above as thats where most of your sound will come from.
  4. I'm looking for a new phone. I have Sprint as a carrier and went back and forth between the Evo 4G LTE and the Samsung SIII. I decided against the EVO due to it being a sealed battery like the Iphone and thats a deal breaker for me. I always buy an extended 3500+ MAh battery or so, so thats a no go, and I hate those battery cases. I'm really liking the Galaxy series but haven't owned a samsung phone in a long time and wondered if anyone here already has one and how you're liking it. I saw it has a factory 2100 MAh battery, and its doing really well with super AMOLED screen, and a whole gob of features. Anything would help.
  5. I would have to say Vortex. I've had the Crossfire on a handful of my smallbore .22's and .17's but the Viper series will do you well and you can get a LOT of bang for the buck for the money. A used Leupold or Nikon Monarch may work out for you as well. I'm also a huge Nikon fan. I like their glass color, clarity, and reticles.
  6. I would have to give the .300 win mag the nod on this one. There is a reason a lot of snipers are still using this round. Its a great round and even out that far its enough to kill a blacktail/whitetail at that range. I wouldn't want to push it past that by any means though.
  7. I got a Mossberg MVP recently when they were brand new and pretty much backordered everywhere. I can't believe the accuracy that comes out of this thing. I have been using Hornady 55gr V-Max and it has been comfortably running .350-.50'' groups all day at 100 yards. I put a fairly cheap Truglo 6-24x44 scope on it with decent rings and I just am impressed everytime I take this thing out. Sitting next to a custom remington 700 xcr the other day and best he could get out was 2" groups with handloads and was pissed that I could pull 1/2" groups in 10-15mph crosswinds and can't help but recommend one of these enough. If you get a chance grab one!
  8. Hey guys figured I'd introduce myself and say hey. I'm an avid shooter of most things from handguns to small bore rifle, pistol, shotgun, trap, and a bit of bow. Ive been a lurker here for a good long time now but opened up and am going to post a bit from time to time. Out of curiosity anybody know how long it takes to post a pic. I was going to try and post a pic of one of my 1911 customs. Anyway, greetings to all and shoot safe and straight.
  9. I know this is an old thread, but my Eddie Jiminea custom is my best shooting handgun PERIOD, not just my 1911's. He did EVERYTHING on this gun. Hand checkered front strap, MSH, hand flared mag well, hand checkered trigger guard, hand fitted barrel/slide/bushing, hand checkered slide stop, customized medallion Colt grips to fit the flared magwell, Bo-Mar sights, custom front sight with a nice ramp, chamfered slide stop holes, and other little things that I'm forgeting. Here's a couple of pictures: Take the spaces out of the IMG section and the .jpg on the last part of the link. I'm still "new" here because I am a lurker not a poster here. It is truly worth seeing Eddie.
