Let me say that the howard leight muffs seem to be extremely good for the money but when shooting steel the slight delay drives me absolutely crazy. At my first steel match with the Howard muffs I couldn't figure out why I was shooting so many extra rounds until I realized the muffs were cutting out the shot and the "Ping" so I wasn't getting the customary audible feedback I was used to. I now turn them off before I shoot and it makes a huge difference.
