  1. I had this happen on one of my Sportsmans Team Challenge rifles.  It happened twice in one match.  It was a new aftermarket bolt.

Finally narrowed it down to where the underside bolt and breechface come together was a touch sharp.  If the round being fed in didnt rise up enough the bolt caught the very top of the case, made it nosedive, and then lit off the primer.

I rolled off the edges on the breechface and cleaned the gunk from the mags so they feed better/smoother/faster.

    No problems since.

Even if I wasn't such a poor, I'd not ever do PRS because it sounds horribly toxic. It seems like the most blatant money-grab of any shooting sport and that's saying something.

BTW, I found it interesting how Doug Koenig and Ruger are at the center of this drama.

Not toxic at all.  It is just a really expensive game to play.  Nothing more, nothing less.

  3. My club is running a little low on brown tape.  So I went to Target Barns site and it looks like they dont sell rolls of tape anymore, only pasters.

The last time I ventured away from Target Barn I ended up with really dark brown and not very sticky, tape.

Does anyone have any suggestions for a source of good quality tape?

  4. It isnt very often that I shoot a handgun other than a revolver for the past several years.  When I do switch it up I normally grab a PCC so I dont unlearn my revo stuff.

I am hoping to make the 2021 Regional ICORE Match.  It just depends on if I am out fighting forest fires.  The past couple years have been rough on my summer shooting schedule.

  5. If the ammo went in the gauge but not the chamber that means your gauge is not as tight as your chamber.

Most likely he didnt have the shoulder bumped back far enough.

The ammo that didnt work, check the headstamp.  Lots of non-US headstamp brass will produce 300 Whisper/Blackout necks that are too think.

Aaaand the the 6 Grendel is much just a 6 PPC that has been around for may many years before that🙂  I have been shooting it since the early 90's 😀

Exactly.  I tell people it is the 6 PPC of gas guns.

  7. I do not have any type of compelling reason for you to help with the match much-less give any of your time for free.

Best option is to contact match staff and tell them exactly how valuable your time is to you.  Politely explain to them that if they want you to help, you will require a discount.  I am sure they will be more than happy to adjust your match fee once they realize how important you are.

I thought the NRL22 shooters mostly used CZs. Tikka is thought to be a good competitor because the full size action gives more chassis options.

    Admittedly an older article:
    https://nrl22.org/sports/nrl22-2018-nationals-gear-survey-results/

But of the two OP wanted to choose between, I would pick the RPR because of the shorter barrel. I'd prefer the American stock, but wouldn't want the longer barrel if I'm trying to stuff it into ports.

At our monthly rimfire PRS/NRL matches about 1/2-3/4 of the shooters are using Vudoos.  The rest are a mixture of CZ and Ruger.  I am using Vudoo and Remington 40X Elrod repeaters.  Everyone once in a while I break out my Anschutz 1727 or CLE AR-15, just because I can.

The Ruger Precision and Ruger Americans have put out some decent barrels and some horrible barrels.
