M&P Pro Series 40 with Apex trigger internals and stipling on the grip where legal for production. I like the M&P because the grip angle is very similar to my 2011's and I like 40 over 9mm because, in my opinion 40 minor shoots way softer than any 9mm load I have tried

I had been using Mobil 1 til a good friend pointed out that while it is a great lubricant, it was slowing the action down a little on my open gun. I have since switched to Weapons Shield and I love it. Keeps the gun very slick and is also veryresistant to collecting dust which is very important in the dry climate I shoot in

Will for sure be all in on one of these. That opric looks amazing and based on everything I have read here will perform even better than it looks

The diet and exercise program is tough but it is well worth it and really helps for everyday life as well as this sport. I know first hand. I got tired of all these little younguns just flat outrunning me in the matches. I am 5'10 and went from 221lbs down to 180 over the course of @ 6 months and have now maintained that for a year. What I did was joint a small gym close to my house (Snap Fitness). I then hired one of their personal trainers to get me up and running for the first 3 months.
It was a little pricey, but considering it was my health and not just the sport that I was doing it for I went all in. I worked with the PT 1/2 hr a day 3 days a week and went on my own 2 additional days for a 1/2 hr.
The PT developed a program for me based on runningback football training that I still follow to this day.
The quick weight loss was due to a strict diet as well as the exercise. I only took in 1700 calories a day. It was brutal for the first week, but after that I got used to it and it works great.
If you have the desire to lose weight and get in shape you will. Yiu just have to have the tenacity to stick with it!!!

Running 7625. Same koad chronod 168.5 at the High Desert Classic in NM last weekend. @ 2000 feet higher in elevation than where our range is here in Vegas so that explains the drop

Ibremeber the delays last year at nats but I also shot a match up in Norcal where they had two large stages on a square rifle bay. Worked well running two squads and two shooters back 2 back then scoring and resetting. I'm sure Ken and crew have a gameplan to make it work

I discovered something interesting today while testing my 7625 loads. I am running Berrys 124gr thick plate hollow base round nose bullets with 7.6 grains of 4756, oal is 1.235. I had originally chronoed them out of my open gun with a non ported hybri barrel and 3 port schuemann titanium comp. They chronoed at 170pf. Due to mechanical issues, I had to switch back to my 4 port hybri barrel with a 7 port egw comp and to my amazement, the same load chronoed at 175. Now granted it is a little hotter out now than when I originally tested the load, but I would have though with that many more holes in the barrelgcomp they would have been slower. Guess there is more to this physics stuff than I thought

Squad schedule gonna be similar to last year? 7 stages Sat and 3 Sun?
-
Interesting that now @ 3 years later I am back to almost a similar situation. Discovered the excess fouling I was seeing was due to a improper barrel during. Anyhow, here is another question on this one. Anyone think I can make major with IMR 7625 with the same barrel and comp, now with 124gr Berrys Hard Plate bullets?
-
Has there been anymore input on this topic? I am having the same issue and the Loctite didn't work. has anyone tried increasing the size of the set screw and re-tapping the body of the sight?

Thanks for the feedback all. We ended up crowning the barrel and took a little more of the bottom inside of the extractor claw. Ran several hundred rounds tonight flawlessly

Ok frustration level is at a 15 on a 1-10 scale. My son's open gun will not take rounds into battery. I have tried rounds with a OAL from 1.225 down to 1.185 and every other round stovepipes. I don't think it's a mag issue, because all our mags work in my gun, and every other gun we tried them in. The ejector is not touching the cases, and the extractor isn't hitting on the way in either. It almost seems like it is kicking the nose of the round of the ramp and up. It stovepipes so bad I have actually creased a case on the barrel ramp. Suggestions as we are trying to get this solved by Area 1 next weekend
Thanks

+1 for the Mobil 1 5W-30Mobil 1 5W30, don't care for grease on a tight pistol in the 1911/2011 platform.
Mobil 1 stays till the next cleaning which is easier than removing grease.
Quart is a little over six bucks. Give it a try hard to beat.

Just broke the thumb safety this weekend on my open gun. It is an older model SV. Aside from the trick SV Ambi safeties that are $100+ and sold out everywhere, what safety to you all like? Thanks

I have found out first hand that removing the mag changes from the equation definitely helped my stage presence. I also learned by shooting with the better shooters in the club watching how they broke down and ran a stage and asking questions. Just remember it is all about economy of motion, and switching to Limited will allow you to discover that. At that point for the most part you are reloading where the stage dictates you must, not when the mag does.

Try Suncoast. It's close to the range and I think is the match hotel. Most strip properties will not allow firearms

Just wondering if anyone out there has flown on Spirit with guns and what your experience was like
My only other choice for a direct flight to my destination is Southwest which I know is great, they are just double the price even with Spirits fees

Looking forward to this match. Will be the Extreme Teams first trip to Texas

I am having frustrations with my c-more. I have it mounted on one of the cameron mounts, so my windage is now elevation. I am 4" low and can't get the thing to move the dot. I took the scope off the mount and tried the Dave Re fix, and noticed that it will adjust from center down, but not from center up. Any ideas what going on?
Thanks

A good example of what someone can do with some paint is Extreme shooters.I believe they use Duracoat but I'm not sure.
These guys never heard the word "can't"
Plus one for Jason at Extreme Shooters. I have been one of his sponsored shooters for the past 2 seasons. My Open gun "Tiger" is on it's second season and still looks good as new. Extreme Shooters Website

This may be an ignorant question, but how do I remove the rear sight on my GF's EAA Limited Match to install Hennings new fixed sight?
Thanks

Upon further review, we think there was an issue with the Chrono. Another shooter tested his loads that just chrono'd major, and had the same results as me, @ 155-157pf. We tested on another Chrono today, I tried my original 5 gr loads as well as 5.2
5.2 gr N320 180gr Zero JHP 1.180 OAL 179pf (too hot!)
5.2 gr N320 180gr Berry's Plated FP 1.180 OAL 175pf (too hot)
5.0 gr gr N320 180gr Zero JHP 1.180 OAL 170 PF (YAY!)
5.0 gr gr N320 180gr Berry's Plated FP 1.180 OAL 168 PF (YAY!)
Mags not dropping free. Mag catch?

I had this happen once with big sticks only and it was the oddest thing. My magwell was slughtly out of shape and was "tweaking" the grip. Mags would drop fine without the magwell. As soon as I mounted it, 140's would drop but 170's would hang. Pulled another magwell out of my parts bin, and have not had another issue. Odd huh?
