Time to double check the equipment, load the car, and try to sleep a little ... Can't wait for tomorrow!
-
No, mine is a 12ga (and I haven't installed it yet). I was just going by the packaging. The model for the 870 specified 12ga, but the 11-87 didn't.
-
Remington makes a universal set that fits any 11-87. It is called the "sure shot". It is a combo thumb hole/ pistol grip style stock set. Looky here! The website says 12ga, however the packaging says it is universal... I got mine at Bass Pro, but you can find them online too...

I was just fishing around on the area 6 site Southeast Shooter and saw that the match book has been posted....
8 days....

Wow! Another metal fan on the forum, cool. I have some of those bands in my collection, but I tend to stay with this type of stuff: Cannibal Corpse Someone talked of squirting bullets at warp 13 earlier...this stuff will help with that. BTW, yes, I really listen to this stuff and have been for nearly 20 years.
I was thinking the same thing as I was reading this thread... BTW, nice Slayer reference in your location.
I've thought about music between stages, but have thought it might be a little anti-social... but maybe I'll try it when I'm on deck. I do worry that a little metal might be like a little too much coffee... it'll get me going, but maybe from "a little slow" straight up to "spray n pray"...

I love my Ready Tacticals. With no tension screw, you can fit more on the belt in the same space. Plus they're cheaper than pretty much anything comparable.
+1
And you can get them from Chris Patty, a vendor right here!
Chris gets my vote (and my money too!) The ready tacticals work great, at a great price.

So I figure Open reloads a tube, mag fed a mag, and the hand job folks load 3. If I'm right or can get a close time for each then we may have a after match shoot off with all comers shooting together heads up.
Sorry, but I can't get past the hand job comment... I have never though of it in those terms...

TEXAS STAR
in Skills
I'm facing this demon tomorrow. With the help of y'all, and a little practice today after setting up the stages for tomorrow's shoot, I think I have a better chance of beating it...
Also, thanks to Singlestack for pointers today!

I'm watching the Shooting USA rerun of Last year's event... Man... I can't wait!

Yep ... Membership has its privileges.......
I got my G34 with 3 mags for $480 today. I love GSSF
Plus, the GSSF shoots are great. The armorers will check out / fix your guns, every make/model is represented, so you can try everything out, the general atmosphere is very laid back, a great experience all the way around.

Sweet! I can't wait!

How about a M107 and several long distance targets?
-
So is it a sign that I have a problem if:
1) I already have my confirmation
2) Already have my hotel reservations
3) Already set aside enough ammo to shoot this event twice (i really might need all of that and more... )
4) and .... I still check out this topic several times a day...
??

If I had only known....
I really need the 3 gun practice (seeing as I still have yet to compete in a 3 gun match), and it would be nice to meet everyone a couple of months early....
But... I am kind of committed... It is in Atlanta at the club I belong to... practicing for it is actually how I found out about / got into this whole wonderful world of 3 gun.
-
Damn! I had talked myself into entering only to realize I have already entered a GSSF match that weekend...
-
I am all 's today. Now the "fun" waiting begins....
Reservations: check
Practice schedule/local matches added to calender: check
Shopping list of ammo and gear needed: check
I love this sport

2 weeks ago. Age 37. Better late than never

Saulius, I have no problem with the going to the 870, especially for cost reasons or availability. I also answered your question on what barrel type, other than those reasons the guns should be the same. Both can be nudged along with the same improvements.
Chefcs5, I know several hunters that swear by 870's and I am one, when it comes to using a SG and firing it as seldomly as most hunters do the 870 will last a lifetime, Heavy use and firing, do not serve the 870 well.
Trapr
Thanks Trapr! Your input is greatly appreciated.
I have been debating the whole 870 / Supernova decision. Threads like these help! I have an older 870 wingmaster in 20ga that I love (it was my grandfathers), but I am getting into the 3 gun matches and think I would like to move to a 12ga. Also, I don't want to abuse that gun in competitions... the sentimental value is just too much! I know if I end up going to a lot of 3 gun comps, I will eventually want to get a semi-auto, but for now I just want something to use for my first 3 gun matches and maybe trap/skeet

I just read this entire thread to make sure I haven't missed anything. To say that I am glad I am a staff member again this year would be a drastic understatement. To not have to sweat getting in is a relief. Looking forward to the match already. Good luck to everyone!
I think I have re-read the thread several times...
This will be my first year and I am totally excited... Now I am just waiting for the check to cash and to get more info about the match (I hope the post office hasn't lost anything!!) ... December is too far away!
BTW - has anyone noticed there are close to 14500 views?? Damn popular!

I don't know about y'all... but I will be sleeping better tonight than I did last night! I was definitely all keyed up. First waiting to find out, and then knowing that I got in!
I have already put everything in the mail (first thing I did when I got to work this morning)...
Thank you Linda for all of your hard work... I know you were up all night...

I actually re-typed everything in the form after the error message, then resubmitted... I hope the time typing didn't make me too late in line
