  1. How about John Pride, Mickey Fowler, Riley and Kelly Gilmore, Justin Blackburn, Carl Bernosky? What about Grant Jeavons?

How is the ladies race shaping up? Vero Koo? Julie G? Helen Jeavons?

I'll stop now. Suffering from Bianchi withdrawl.

  2. +1 to vluc said.

Can't tell from the picture but if you have a grip plug, they are a no no.

Bladetech DOH holsters are popular for USPSA Production.

If you want a cheap 2lb drop in trigger kit, check out www.triggerkit.com.

I have a 2nd gen G17 sey up with the RS kit, Heinies, ISMI captured guide rod, 15lb spring, and grip tape.

But if you shoot your current setup well..why change?

  3. I just recieved one of Tom Novak's extended SS guide rods for ISMI springs.

    VERY well done!!

The slide cycles much more smoothly than with the ISMI Captured Rod.

Also, the Dawson ICE for Glock is the sh**, IMHO. The more I use it, the more I like it. :D

  4. Rumor has it that there is a .105 wide x .300 tall front sight available now.

If I were to do it all over again, this is the front I'd choose.

The .285 tall front doesn't allow much down adjustment on my G34 with the adjustable rear.

The .285 is OK for a G17 etc, however.

  5. Had some time on my hands the other day so I polished up some 5 lb connectors and threw one in my 2nd gen 17 with Ralph's trigger. It feels better -too me - than with a 3.5 lb connector.

With a 5 lb connector, the trigger breaks at 2.5lb. Take up is much lighter and the striker release seems more crisp.

And with the 5lb connector and the stock striker spring, the pull is just under 3 lb! :D

With the 3.5 lb connector, the break was just under 2 lb.

This might be another option for you guys. I think I'll stick with it for a while.

  6. Back to N320 and temp... ;)

I've found that N320 is very predicable with temp change. Most of my testing has been in 9x19, 9x23, and 38 Super. Each degree equals right around 2 fps +or - depending on the direction of the temp change.

    For example:

    58 degrees = 1045fps avg

    65 degrees = 1051fps avg

    75 degrees = 1074fps avg

    87 degrees = 1101fps avg

    Hope this helps.

  7. My G34 has a KKM installed.

I noticed the same thing and contacted Kevin in Oct of last year. He basically said he had never heard of this but offered to replace the barrel.

I never sent the old one back.. it still shoots fine.

  8. Sounds like some people would prefer to just add a division for unmodified ? Wonder what it would take ? You know, only for pistols straight off the shelf.

Sure. Sounds like a great idea. Enforcement is the problem.

If the trend continues, someone is going to have to resurrect John M. Browning and make him chronoman.

  9. Flex,

The portion of the trigger bar that contacts the striker safety? Maybe!!??

It kinda looks like a birds head.

From what DOD is describing, that seems like the only option.

It seems like a bad idea to alter the dimensions of anything on the trigger bar except for hole relocation. IMHO.

  10. The other aspect that escapes some is that many new shooters are coached to buy a pistol that fits in multiple divisions.

I'll use a Glock 35 as an example. Without a magwell, you can compete in Ltd, L10, and Prod.

So a guy goes out and buys a 2lb trigger. Shoots in Prod - Ltd- and L10 for a while, and now his gun is not legal for Production.

Some might say that "he can still shoot Production..just switch triggers or buy another gun" Yes, but if he makes it Production legal with a 5lb trigger, for example, is it really competitive in the other divisions?

But who shoots a 5lb trigger in a Limited gun?

If the gun is the same, except for the # of rounds in the mag, the transition between divisions is easier and the shooter is more apt to play in multiple divsions.

    2 more c. :D
