I finished 15 out of 33 shooters Not happy with those results,
Not bad for your first time!
Don't focus too much on the end result..focus on the performance.
but I know a lot of areas that I could do so much better onThere you go!!!

Another prop-head joke...
Bill Gates and his EVIL Empire have spread to the far reaches of the globe. $$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$

KK,
I'd love to, but my gun isnt legal.X2 for the Open auto.
But I've got that 38 Super revo with all the fancy stuff sitting in the safe...you can use that, if you HAVE to shoot Open.
Why not shoot your met sight gun? The Kimber or even your Glock?
I'm in for Met sight. At least it's legal.
-
Eagle Creek range?
I'm in unless gas goes to $5 a gallon.
-
And the mother of all english debates:
Will and Shall.
-
David,
If you want to put a few rounds through both, PM me. I'm in your area. If you plan on shooting Oak Park Sportsmans Club IDPA on Sunday, I'll show up and bring both. If not, I'll be at the OPSC USPSA match on July 8th.
-
Bruce,
Are you concerned with physically being able able to shoot faster splits (finger speed)? Or seeing faster?
During your drills what do you see?
-
Used to shoot a Glock 34. Been shooting a G17 lately.
-
since you are done this is moot but..
When Kydex melts or the temp is raised to 400+ degrees it emits hydrogen choride. HC is bad news in a closed area!!!
When you heat/cut it, don't get it too hot. When the edges look shiny..that is too hot.

In the "rear of mat" prone starting style, those standing or forward shooters are "forward" of the loaded weapons by as much as several feet and are only a few feet to the side. Personally, I am glad I am a prone shooter, as I would not want to be a "forward" shooter on the line with a "rear mat" prone shooter, with a 2 lb trigger (and it used to be less) from a draw position, especially at the 25 yard Practical stage where time is quite limited.
Rudy stated this exact senario to me when the prone rules were changed.
But, with all of this talk about safety, according to 9.17 in the AP rules, an AD during loading or unloading, leaving the line with a loaded gun, picking up an unloaded dropped gun does not automatically DQ a shooter, as it does in USPSA. He/She can commit TWO separate safety infractions of this type before a DQ.
HMMMM.

- Here are the targets.
- Here is how much time you have.
- Here is how many shots you get.
- Here is the start position.
- Stay behind line or in the barricade box.
- Shoot freestyle.
Yes.
And good luck.

Just polish in the right places.
I use SimiChrome and a q-tip. A Dremel is faster but messy.
The RS kit is a great value. I use one in a Production G17 and a G34 that used to have a Vanek.
An RS kit with a 5lb connector and the stock striker spring comes in at 3 lb or so with light take up and a crisp break in my G17.
Technique wise, I just let the trigger reset, like Cmzneb suggests. Take up is only an issue on the first shot.

The RangeMaster is a nice pistol. Got to shoot one. But it had the heavy dust cover.
Decided to shoot my RockRiver in .38 super for SingleStack, however.
No issues with mags either.

Nice job, Jay!
With a Glock no less?? What is wrong with that?
Looks like UnderArmor has a "tactical" thong. That might make you even faster!!!
On second thought, Ben might start chasing you then.

505 comes to mind.
And the shooting for X's procedure changed because of it. When BE did it, you shot at 25 yards until you missed. The time stayed the same at 9 seconds.
Now, you shoot the whole plate match again starting at 10 yards..with 2 seconds less. The time is further reduced as you shoot more.

The carbide insert in a 9mm sizing die pulled out. Tried pounding it back in, staking, etc.
Dillon replaced it but...
Been using Dillon dies for years with no issues until now.
Has anyone else had this happen? If so, how often.
FWIW, the dies are about three seasons old. Maybe 25 - 30 K.
-
While reloading for a major last week, the carbide donut in the sizing die pulls out. Shot the match with 15 rounds to spare!!!
To Dillon's credit, they two day'd the replacement and it was waiting when I got back.

Congrats Dave!

I was shooting AP before I knew any GM's.
But that said, the reasons I don't shoot AP anymore:
1. One club closed, another is under new leadership on a weekend I can't do.
2. 300 + mi round trip to any club shooting AP.
3. Rule changes.
4. Gas prices.
5. Time.
6. Apathy.
7. Boredom.
Even shot a State match with my USPSA Production class Glock to mix it up a bit. Now, even that gun is illegal to shoot at the 'Cup. Trigger pull.....
We tried AP at our club. Since we don't have a mover or a 50 yard range anymore, everyone didn't see the point and just shoot USPSA. Everyone who has heard of AP associates it with the 4 'Cup events. All of the other events are fillers or adaptations, IMHO.
We tried the Combat event. More targets we can't use for anything else. There was already a PPC program.
We tried Int Rapid Fire. Went over like a lead ballon. Everyone asked where were the .22 shorts!
Los Alamitos - OK but...
Flying M - the can got kicked all over the place.
Maybe my personality has changed but I can shoot a USPSA match a weekend, sometimes 2, within a reasonable driving distance and have half a day left to spend with my family.
-
I'm leaving Thurs for setup, shooting Friday, working Sat - Sun.
We have a full contingent working from my club. Have heard that some other section clubs are having issues staffing but the MD has things under control.
FYI, this is a cash payback - trophy match. Don't know if a prize table was a big concern.
-
These may point to the new direction USPSA is taking..very IPSC-esque.
Starting with unloaded guns, slide locked back, low round counts (short course like), high speed and even classic targets. Hmmmm!!!
Now we need more movement!!!
-
Compare the trigger bar you received in the kit to the original bar. Glock has a habit of changing these.
Look for a step in the front of the cruciform (where the radius turns down..the part where the trigger spring hole is located). Glock changed these in the Gxx series.
This made a difference in mine.

It looks like the "house that Royce built" has a new owner and has been remodeled.

Production is really a different mindset. Good luck.
