  1. This is legendary!!! Cliff needs some sort of legendary compensation for his achievements... maybe a gold plated g-string... or even a gold sparkly one. (it is Cliff afterall)
  2. 7...2...7 beotch!!! OMFG!!!
  3. Well, that's the problem with most of these types of suggestions. All of the limitations are not clear unless you know the complete set up (of which I don't see anyone else doing). The mike is integrated into the webcam. There's only so many feet of cord distance you can add or external hardware to go through prior to getting back to the computer. Each one of those decrease your audio/video quality and increases the resource consumption and decreases the broadband speed. It's very difficult to get external power sources in these remote areas as well. Battery packs and small generator like equipment is not allowed on some airlines either.
  4. Megan was Madigan before she married Francisco (Ron). A lot of us know her as Megan Madigan. Thanks, Bwana! You're welcome. Glad you enjoyed it! A compressor on an integrated microphone... what does your set up look like? I don't think there was a whole lot I could have done with that wind other than protect the microphone from it. I needed another person to do that and there was only me.
  5. Anyone interested in a webcast of the awards? Starts at 8ish but I wanted to see if you were interested in watching first. TIA
  6. CONGRATULATIONS SMITTY!!! What a match! I happened to capture Shannon's Stage 4 win on video and uploaded it to YouTube this morning. Great comeback by Max Michel. Awesome! Amazing shooting by Bob Vogel! Megan Fransico, woo hoo!!! Jessie Abbate, great shooting!
  7. oops! The Live recordings are located here: http://www.ustream.tv/channel/uspsa-open-09
  8. I uploaded videos of Shannon Smith on Stages 4 and 16: http://www.youtube.com/user/SnSProduction
  9. The amount of volunteer effort going into the Women of USPSA project is unbelievable. There are so many people offering their time and resources to pull this off. There simply isn't enough THANKS to give!!! I don't want to name anybody right now for fear of unintentionally leaving someone out. But, YOU ALL are the BEST!!! Thanks for the moral support too, Seiichi. Well, everytime I attempt these webcasts, I learn something new. This is a great experience for me. Despite impossible cell reception, I think the changes I've made to my set up are big improvements. Also, this time I walk away with a goal to improve sound quality in certain (aka WINDY) weather conditions. So far, I'll pretty much attempt coverage in any weather conditions except rain/snow. The heat and the sand have taken a bit of a toll on my equipment. I'll have to upgrade my broadband card soon anyway... but maybe shred - aka Roy Stedman would help with de-sanding the internals of my laptop...? <<<batting eyelashes>>>. I'm not sure how to decrease the wind noise, but I've got a couple of ideas to try today. I'm going to try again to follow the Ladies Super Squad 9... I'll get to the range early for a trial. If not, Stage 4 has pretty good reception and is an exciting stage to watch (IMO)... also, the first squad to shoot there is Squad 7, Mens Super Squad. If anyone is wondering why the camera is so far away from the stages... it's because the bays are SO huge and the further in the bay I get, the less cell reception is available. I'm actually pretty darn impressed with Verizon. There are a lot of people who can't even make a phone call when I'm able to stream video (albeit not the greatest quality). I reviewed some of the Live recorded webcasts last night and there are times where there is some pretty good webcasting. They're all available for viewing too. If you're patient, you can navigate forward during the boring parts by clicking on the progress bar. It just takes a little time to catch up. I'll look into editing out the down-time parts and keeping the better quality recordings later... I see a new edit option available, yay! Wish me luck!
  10. He talked about it on my webcast today. I had no idea what had happened and felt guilty asking for an interview on Stage 1 (right after Stage 16). Too bad it's so dang windy and difficult to hear him talk. Then, in the middle of the "interview", John Scoutten threw a rock at him and hit him square in the b*//s... Max's "interview" is at http://www.ustream.tv/recorded/2161603 starting at 31:45
  11. Working reasonably on stage 4... will stay with the next squad, Squad 8. Hopefully, Taran will provide narration again!
  12. The problem isn't on your end. Cellular reception is next to nothing here. I'm doing the best I can. From previous experience, the audio had come through pretty good even if the video was poor. I'm hoping that's the case and that's why I've been trying to get people to give verbal updates and some antics. sorry.
  13. Live interviews with Max Michel, Saul Kirsch and special Guest narrator Taran Butler... that was hilarious! I hope some of you were able to see/hear them. I'll have to go review the webcast later tonight. A recording should be available and I'll see if I can edit the long downtime between. I'll be moving on to other stages now. Hopefully I'll find a bit of reception.
  14. Up next, Squad 7 Stage 1 Shooting order: Chris Tilley Todd Jarrett Stephen Hinojales Max Michel KC Eusebio Lee Dimaculangan Mike Voigt JJ Racazza Nick Saiti Henning Walgren Saul Kirsch Quick break preceding this squad so I can save the last broadcast.
  15. I've got a little reception on Stage 1. Kind of a neat stage layout. Much more exciting than Stage 11. Broadcasting Squad 8 now. Shooting order: 1-Bob Londrigan 2-Ron Brown 3-Ryan Bradley 4-John Guida 5-Don Bednorz 6-Lesgar Murdock 7-Kert Gaskill 8-Glenn Higdon 9-Chuck Bradley 10-Shannon Smith 11-Taran Butler It would be nice if a moderator could separate all the rules discussions from this topic. Thank you.
  16. philosophical mode on One of the things I really like about shooting, which is really difficult to explain to non-shooters, is that competitive shooting forces you to look internally and address issues within yourself that impact your life in general. If you're not patient, you must learn. If you're not focused, you must learn. If you can't push yourself, you must learn. I think a lot of people here know what I'm talking about. I think that I currently have some life lesson that I'm just not learning. This webcast project is bringing back distinct reactions and emotions that I encountered during last year's shooting season. No matter how prepared you are, no matter how hard you try... there are things that can happen to derail your efforts that you just can't control. I understand that part... it's the feeling of failure that I just can't seem to get over. philosophical mode off I don't want to jinx myself and be optomistic about the webcast tomorrow... but the range layout on Stages 1-6 appears to be a bit better. I walked the stages over there today and found a few spots with some cell reception. I'll try again tomorrow.
  17. ooooooh, BritinUSA... I'm sorry, I just saw another area that says "space quota 1024kb". Yikes! Until I figure out how to change that, please feel free to email me any photos you want posted and I'll batch upload them. I'm so sorry! I uploaded two videos to the gallery. Both on Stage 12, one of Jessie Abbate and one of Maggie Reese. You can also view them here: http://www.youtube.com/user/womenofuspsa
  18. Of the (many) ranges I've been to... Bali, Indonesia and Las Vegas, Nevada are the only two I've had problems with. *GASP*... that wasn't me! I swear! (seriously though... how rude was that? ) The other side of the stage had fantastic viewpoints, but no cell reception... they could've gone there... (according to me ) BritinUSA, I checked the setting and that 1024KB limit is per file. We should get together at the hotel for a few minutes and I could help you out. If not, email me the photos you would like to upload and I'll batch add them to the gallery (sniper_le@yahooDOTcom)
  19. Thank you. Well, there was a brief moment of reasonable reception today on Stage 11. I'm really sorry everyone. This was just so unexpected. Also, I'll be staying with Squad 9 for the most part. This is the most difficult range to get around on that I've ever been to. Some of the stages today were probably a half mile apart. In 100 degree weather, with my trailer park wagon full of equipment, it's extra tough to get around (although John Amidon towed me to one stage ). The stages we were on today were so far apart I really didn't even see any other competitors/spectators except briefly the Squad 8 on our first stage (Stage 9) and Squad 10 on Stages 10/11. Squad 9 Internet Superstars: when service is available Randi Rogers Jessie Abbate Athena Lee Lisa Munson Doni Spencer Carrie Jamrogowicz Julie (Goloski) Golob Mark Hanish Tasha Hanish Maggie Reese Billy Abbate BritinUSA took some AMAZING pictures today! Hopefully he will upload them to the womenofuspsa.com gallery ( http://womenofuspsa.com/gallery ) I got about 4 or 5 videos today of the ladies. I'll either upload them later tonight or in the morning. We're on our way out the door. I have no idea about current standings in the race. Like I mentioned earlier, the fact that we don't see ANYONE makes it really hard to get an idea on scores. John Scoutten has promised that he'll update me with the information he is able to obtain. If I'm able to get a reasonable connection tomorrow, he promised another "special guest appearance" on the webcast to report the standings. If not, I will Twitter them and post here when I can. Again, I apologize for the lack of information. Hopefully it will get better tomorrow!
  20. Paul, I made some changes to the settings on the photo/video gallery. You should be able to register now... here's the direct link: http://womenofuspsa.com/gallery/register.php If you hover your cursor over the @, the link to register should come up now. Well, unfortunately the cell reception at the range is hit and MISS BIG! I'm going to search around tomorrow with the squads and see if I can find some "hot spots" with better reception. I don't know what I'll be able to accomplish with the webcast (we're in VEGAS?!?! Where's the cell service?) About 100ft off the range the service is great. I can update via twitter and facebook... and if all else fails, I'll upload pictures, video, updates each evening. I'm sorry everyone. This is the ONE thing that is just out of my control.
  21. Yeah, they don't lend themselves to good video either. Not a complaint about the match or the range or anything like that... just that it's difficult to see much of the shooter besides their backs and the color contrast (or lack thereof) and the position of the sun makes it really difficult. ... neither does the cell reception...
  22. LOL!!! Yeah, I needed something that moved quickly to test on... so, now my fish are internet superstars! Please understand that no matter what that video quality was going to be terrible. With flourescent lighting in the tank, sunlight in the background, glass fishtank walls between the fish and the glaring monitor screen... all was not going to be pretty. I was also playing with frame rate and, besides Bali, our house has THE WORST broadband connection... so, that was a TEST! You can see the difference in video quality at http://www.ustream.tv/channel/uspsa-open-09 and while you're there... click on Follow as well as sign up with Social Stream! Absolutely on the photo upload! We have the gallery set up for that very purpose!!! The software is on the server, we just have to customize the layout... we're getting there! Anyone and everyone is welcome to upload to the gallery (http://womenofuspsa.com/gallery - cosmetically still under construction). Also, if you are a Facebook member, become a Fan of Women of USPSA and you can upload photos as well as video there!!!
  23. Awesome and THANK YOU!!! Please tell all your friends! I'm really excited about this and wanted to share... I bought a new webcam today and I really think it's going to be a BIG improvement over the other one. Not only is the video quality better (albeit limited by the internet connection) but it allows me to view my monitor while broadcasting. This way, I'll be able to make adjustments to video angle, brightness/contrast, etc. and my big noggin won't be in front of the camera. This is really great for me and I hope you all enjoy the upgrade too. Please, please, PLEASE get the word out to your friends and fellow shooting enthusiasts! Send out an email to your shooting groups, etc. Have your family watch from home and stop by the webcast and say "HELLO!" to them!!! Tell your mother you love her, LIVE from Las Vegas!!! This is going to be the BEST broadcast YET!!! We'll be sending out Twitter updates to inform you when we're going LIVE and what the coverage will be... so sign up with Twitter and get your Women of USPSA tweets!!! This webcast and promotion of Women of USPSA is the ONLY reason I'm flying out to Las Vegas (well, not the ONLY...) so TUNE IN!!!! http://womenofuspsa.com http://womenofuspsa.com/webcast.html
  24. Some of you may have seen my webcast of last years USPSA Limited/Production/Revolver Nationals... well, I'll be at it again this year in Las Vegas!!! I'll primarily be focusing on the Women of USPSA to promote a new project created by Julie (Goloski) Golob, Kippi Leatham and myself. I'll try and cover as much as possible and hope to include interviews, live updates, and of course INTERACTIVE CHAT! So, become a fan on Facebook, receive tweets from Twitter and check it out at http://womenofuspsa.com !!!
  25. While I was working on the website today... Smitty told me about this topic. Not sure if I'm supposed to announce it yet or not (I'm sure there will be a more formal announcement later) but we've got a little project in the works... part of the project will be LIVE webcasting of the Open Nationals (mostly the ladies super squad), but they're not shooting all the time! This is a work in progress... but you'll be able watch the LIVE webcast HERE!
