  1. The best part about grand kids is you can spoil them rotten and then send them home with mom and dad.

I keep teasing my kids and telling them that If I would have known Grand kids were this great, I would have skipped the kids and went straight to grand kids.  ;)

  2. Hay Ron!

I've driven through the wonderful state of Wyoming, and the next time that I do I'm going to install a set of them Australian Roo Bars on my truck.  Traveling the highways of Wyoming at night is none to safe.  Between the deer and Antelope it's like wondering through a mine field.  :)

  3. gingerbreadman here is my rule of thumb on primers.

If the load call for over 60 grs. of powder I use magnum primers.

If the load calls for a ball powder such as Winchester or Hodgdon then I use a magnum primer.

The reason for it is, ball powders are harder to ignite, and burn cleanly according to Winchester and Hodgdon.  So they recommend a magnum primer.  For years Winchester never made a primer designated as a "magnum primer".  Because their primers we made to ignite large amounts of ball powder.

Well anyway as I said this is my rule of thumb on primers.

    Good luck.

  4. Way cool, you can access it from any internet attached computer.  You can print the stage and add it to the club stage note book.  As Shred said it would be nice to be able to save it, so you could make any needed adjustments to the stage.  Like they say it all looks good on paper. ;)

  5. What are you using and why?  I've been using my Dillon 550 for my all of my auto's because of the number of round I reload, but for my wife’s 357 shooting 38's I've been using my single stage press for the simple fact that 500 round has been lasting her six months, but she has been thinking about competing with here revolver.  Well any way I've never reloaded for a revolver on the Dillon and I have a couple of sets of RCBS and Lee dies both with the factory roll crimp.  Will I need or do I want a taper crimp die?

  6. Thanks Guy's for the info.  I have about 7 lbs of a 8 lb keg of 540 to use so I'll give it a try.  Somebody here in another thread was saying that HS6 is win 540 or 540 was HS6 something like that.  Thanks again.

  7. I just bought a Para P14 that a friend started to build into a limited gun and all that is left for me to do is choose a barrel for it.  I can't decide if I want to go with a bushing barrel or a bull barrel.  So please give me some feed back.  Such as wear,  if the bushing wears loose I can have a new bushing installed, but what about the bull barrel?  Accuracy?

    Thanks

  8. EricW  If they do not have a written or verbal verification of the switch, they're screwed, and if they try and trash your credit report with out this evidence you will have grounds for a lawsuit.  Find a good lawyer if they refuse to comply and plan on a new open blaster.  You do have rights.;)

  9. Here's my take on this subject.  Both Kelly and Patrick have very good points.  My break in procedure is a little different then Kelly’s.  I will clean after every shot for the first 10 rounds and then after every 3 for the next 90.  After my initial 10, I do what Patrick suggested, that is start my load development.

My thought is when I'm spending $500 to have a Lilja stainless match grade barrel installed I want the best possible accuracy.  If you feel it's voodoo fine but as for me I'm not risking that kind of money just because I didn't follow the advise of the barrel Mfg. or the advise of a group of people that will probabley fire smaller groups then I will will only dream of (the benchrest shooters).

    Good Luck Cobra

  11. Duane I'm with you.  I use Laser Cast exclusively and have fired over 15,000 rounds of the .45 200 gr. swc through my Kimber and have better accuracy using them then I do using any plated or jacketed bullets.  Although my jacketed testing has been minimal due to $$$.  As far as being dirty? how’s that?  I've never fired them inside but I do have video of my self using them outside, and there is a little smoke, but somebody using a jacketed bullet and win 231 makes more smoke then I do using LC and Clays.  To each his own, but in my experience Laser Cast and Clays gives me the best bang for my buck$. ;)
