  1. I'm not quite sure how to post pics but I will try to figure it out.
  2. I know that is the normal method. I grip the gun too high to keep my thumb on top of the safety. I used to be able to shoot this same pistol without my thumb resting on the safety without issue. Now I have the issue with the safety engaging during recoil. Does anyone else have this issue with STI safeties.
  3. I am currently using a sti safety on my SS and I am having a issue with my safety. The safety flips up during recoil. Upon inspection of the safety, I noticed that there is a trench that has developed below the safety detent. Has anyone else had a issue with STI safeties being soft.
  4. I miked the bullets and they are .400 on the nose. Black Bullets are usually .401. I'm not quite sure how to measure the crimp. I screwed the crimp die down to the point where it looked like a 357 SIG. Well maybe thats a exageration, but you get my point.
  5. I just switched to extreme bullets from black bullets. When I crimp the bullet , it still spins in the case. There is plenty of crimp. Is this something to be concerned about??
  6. I just switched to extreme bullets from black bullets. When I crimp the round, it still spins in the case. There is plenty of crimp. Is this something to be concerned about??
  7. I currently run a sv fiber front sight. Fiber is a little on the big side but overall, I like it.
  8. I know the Dawson posi lock magcatch is designed so then you are not able to over insert the magazine. My question is, does it hold the magazine any higher in the frame??
  9. Thats good to know. I also like the cuts on the rear blade as well. Looks like a really solid sight.
  10. Im contemplating purchasing a new svi rear sight. They are quite a bit more expensive compared to other sights on the market. Are they worth the extra cash??
  11. I was on level 5 cruising at about 55 rpms. I definately wasnt sprinting but I also wasnt lolly gagging around. I found a comfortable pace and stuck to it.
  12. I just did a 5k in 33.01 but I dont know if that is good or bad or what.
  13. I just started using a elliptical machine and I am wondering what a good time would be for doing a 5k.
  14. Im actually wanting a safety that sits higher so I can rest my thumb on it. I know wilson makes the high ride but is it really higher than say a STI ambi safety??
  15. I grip the gun really high. Other than that I use a very traditional grip.
  16. I appreciate your response. A low profile safety wouldnt be a option to me. I have really beefy thick hands and part of the reason that I need the higher safety is that I cant hardly get my strong hand thumb past my support hand thumb. The lower safety would probably be accidently engaged. Maybe a safety with a shield would help.
  17. Is there a company out there that makes a thumb safety that when the safety is off or disengaged that allows your thumb to sit in a higher position? The problem is that I get such a high hold on the gun that I am not able to rest my thumb on the safety without dragging my thumb on the slide. Hopefully someone can help.
  18. Well, I shot the load of 4.1 gr of wst with a oal of 1.180 with a 10lb recoil spring. Honestly, couldnt tell much of a difference compared to my major loads. I might try .2 less and see what happens.
  19. I like the uspsa model. I just wish it had front cocking serrations. Thats my only complaint.
  20. I have been running a 12lb recoil spring for the last year. Recoil springs are subjective subject. What works for me may not work for you. Things like pistol set up i.e. Full length dust cover vs short, tungsten guide rod vs ss, grip strength. All of thise things can change your muzzle recovery.
  21. I had some precision 185gr bullets. So I loaded 100 @ 4.1 gr. Haven't shot any yet but they should still cycle my pistol with a 12 lbs recoil spring. I might try a 10 to see how it feels.
  22. Oops sorry about that. 180 grn.
  23. I am looking for a load using a OAL of 1.180 using WST.
