  1. Western powder in Montana is a big distributor and they have a trucking company that make a power run. When I was looking into it the would make a run to SLC about every month or so.

BTW Western Powder is the Ramshot and Acuurate powder distributor & repackager All you need is an FFL and you can buy it by the ton.

  2. That was the most exciting sporting event EVER!! FM is world champion when he crosses the line but then LH passes Glock and he is world champion. WOW. I was going crazy watching it.

We'll see what next year brings, but I'm affraid Max has screwed it up :angry2:

  3. I'm still working up a load for it right now. With Hornady 140 gr A-Max and 39.5 gr of RL-17 about 2600 but we still have a long ways to go. I'll let you know. But the factory ammo from Hornady is the 140 at 2800 and the 120's at 3020.

  4. A couple of years ago I got chosen to teach a marriage class to the men at a church group we have. I started the class by writing on the chalk board.

    1-YOUR RIGHT

    2-I'M SORRY

I told them here are the 2 steps to a happy marriage. They got a kick out that.

The single guys didn't get it. They thought that talking was the way to a happy marriage. Idiots!

Usually the more I talk the more trouble I get in.

  5. Scott,

    Sweet!

btw - What is the difference between the 6.5 Creedmoor and a 260 Rem ?

About 2mm in length. It allows the long 140gr bullets to sit a little farther forward on the case mouth. Also the 6.5CM has 30deg shoulders and almost no case taper. Is sort of a 260AI but 2mm shorter case length. Factory brass and ammo from Hornady.

  6. Here is my new 6.5 Creedmoor. The action is a Stiller Tac30 purchased throug a Snipershide group buy. The barrel is a Mike Rock also purchased through a Snipershide group buy. The trigger is a RifleBasix varmint model puchased from Midway on sale. The scope is a Meopta 4-16x44 puchaed from eurooptics.com when he had a sale on them. Only 5 rd through it so far. I'll have to wait till about 50 to see how it really shoots.

  7. ...my vacuum goes back to the garage...

Put it up for sale in the classified.

No No don't sell it. Hide it, and tell her you sold it!! You will probably need it again when she hides her "new" one. What I want to know is, did you ever find out where she hid the vacuum?

  8. This year Spa was great. When I was racing in the SCCA I loved the rain. I think all racing should be done in the rain, or at least keep racing when it rains. I can't even watch those left turners. If it even thinks about rain they stop. WTF If it's really a "Stock Car" then it should be driven in the rain.

  9. FA deserved to win. I love the Renault and Flavio, He is great. As a Ferrari fan I just had to shake my head. What the h@%& were they thinking. They gave away the race. The race looked awesome!! under the lights.

  10. A really great race car driver, and for me, will be known more for his racing than anything else. His wife Joanne Woodward hated him racing and if she had not fordid him frow driving more we would have seen what a great driver he was.

  11. Tomorrow is the Singapore night race ran under the lights on a street circuit. It looks great on TV. The only thing that would be better is if Torro Rosso was to win the race like they did last week at Monza in the rain. That was one of the most memorable race ever seen. When a team that is usually last or second to the last wins a F1 race. It was awesome!!

  12. Having been a bodyman in a previous life. LEAD IS THE BEST filler there is. You can put it on thick or thin never shrinks, comes off and is 100% waterproof. Its just a little hard to work with. Next is the aluminum fill waterproof filler. Its really just waterproof bondo with aluminum in it. It works good but is more expensive than bondo. I hate bondo.

I would alway laugh and feel bad for the clients of American Hot Rod, they would spend a lot of money to have a car built, then they would cover it in bondo before finishing it. The proper way is to straighten the metal and "pick and file" it to make it straight. If you needed filler then use lead.

But I have used a lot of bondo in my life though. We had a saying "A little putty and a little paint makes it look like what it aint."

    Good Luck

  13. Just wondering if any of you know specifically where I can find some Vector Based Clip Art for an image of an AR (A2 style), a 1911 or 2011, and a Scoped Hunting Type Rifle for a remake of a Club Logo in vector format.

Would naturally prefer free, but will consider buying if I have to.

    Thanks

    Mark K

Send me your e-mail and I will send you what I have. Also try istockphoto.com They are inexpensive and you cand look for just vector art work if you need.

  14. You know that might be as good as some gunsmiths. Throw the barrel in a lath and run the reamer in it.

    Scott

Some "gunsmiths" will do JUST that!

I have noticed very few smith have the ability or the tools to indicate off the center of the hole and then chamber. Most of them just center on the outside of the barrel. And the run a reamer in the barrel.

    Scott

  15. Scott,

I know a guy with a pipe threader and a Milwaukee drill. We can have that barrel and chamber done in 30 minutes :D

On a serious note. If all you are having done is a barreled action built, George should be alot faster than 4 months.

  16. There are way to many days in a week and some times way to few. I need to speed up time and sometimes slow it down!!

I’m trying to get a bolt gun built and every one of the gunsmiths that I would want to build the gun is 4 to 10 month backed up. For example Gre-tan -10 months, Gordy’s - 6 months, Borden Rifles- 10 months, G.A. Precision – 4 months. It has taken a year and a half to get the parts together and now it’s wiat .. wait ..wait just to get a thread, chamber and crown. I can do all the rest of the gun. If you have ever dealt with gun smith’s before you know that quoting time on the phone and actual build time are two different things. So maybe I will be shooting the new gun next year. Then I have to get a load developed and barrel break-in and all of the stuff it takes to get up to speed on precision rifle, PLUS, still shoot 3-gun, my pistol shooting is not getting any better, I shoot in a skeet league every Thursday, and I would like to get some more sporting clays in this year. AND on top of all that my wife is complaining that I am not spending enough time at home with her or getting all the chores done around the house. I need two or three more days in the weekend.

  17. I love mine. The took a little getting used to. I was used to using the molded ear protection then I got my ESP's and then I could hear the brass hitting the ground and people talking while I was shooting so it was a little distracting but now I can't live without them. It has made concentrate and focus more on my shooting rather than the distractions.

  18. "secret location" in the AZ desert where a friend of Jamie's let them use a

minigun mounted on top of a Saburban ??

Can't be too secret, since they mentioned Dillon in the credits.

I remember speaking to someone who worked in a customer facing position at one of the largest gun companies in the US. He was told poession of a loaded gun on the job was grounds for immediate termination. On the other hand, the folks at Dillon explained that the only reason their counter staff carries is to give the folks in the back room time to get the machine guns deployed. Guess which one didn't make me unload and check my gun before the tour? Dillon definiely passes the attitude test :)

If you're ever in the Scottsdale area, visit Dillon - their staff is great and if they have time you might even get a tour.

I took the kids to the store on a Saturday last month when we went to Pheonix. The kids were way excited because there is a In-N-Out burger only 3 blocks away.
