Looks for Range

Looks for Range (1/11)

  1. 1000qty & 6000qty available right now at Wideners. HORNADY .224 55GR FMJBT W/C BULLETS
  2. Keep an eye on Wideners. I was able to purchase 2 cases of Hornady #H2267FB 55GR FMJBT a few weeks ago. http://www.wideners.com/itemview.cfm?dir=278|281|293|324|696
  3. I have been referring to Hornady's 7th Edition and just purchased Sierra's 5th Edition. Why is there such a variation in powder weights? Hornady's maximum load (3100fps) is Sierra's recommended minimum load (2700fps). This seems like a major variation in my opinion. .224 55 Grain FMJBT Hornady...Viht N-133 2700 ------- 2800 (19.8gr.) 2900 (20.8gr.) 3000 (21.8gr.) 3100 (22.7gr.) Sierra...Viht N-133 2700 (22.6gr.) 2800 (23.1gr.) 2900 (23.6gr.) 3000 (24.1gr.) 3100 -------
  4. I see the Lapua website you listed for K&J223. Is there another thread you're refering to that I am missing? Thank you by the way for the Lapua link; I have printed this data. Is there a recommended decrease in powder when using or switching between MAGNUM primers vs standard small rifle primers?
  5. Thanks Tony - I did and I only found a thread relating to small magnum pistol primers. I may not be using accurate search criteria but I would appreciate any assistance or a link to the correct forum thread.
  6. tried Nufinish last week...PERFECT!!!!!
  7. I could use some recommendations on approximate powder grain reduction for use with magnum primers (CCI 450's)? I own 1000 CCI 450 magnum primers and would like to use them. The reloading manuals I own only include Winchester WSR and Remington 7 1/2 primer data. Rifle Data: AR-15 20" 1:9 .223 (DPMS Upper) AR-15 10.5" 1:7 5.56 NATO Bullet Data: 52gr & 55gr Hornady 52gr BTHP (#2249) Hornady 55gr V-Max
  8. Double check your information on manuals. The Hornady 7th Edition Reloading manual includes VV powders and Hornady bullet data ranging from 45gr - 75gr. They have the information you need.
  9. I am new to rifle ammunition reloading but I have read up on a few reloading manuals (e.g. Nosler, Hornady and Lyman) so I'm somewhat educated. What I am missing is specific reloading information for 5.56 NATO dutch chamber in an AR-15 SBR. I simply lack the confidence to just jump in and start experimenting without seeking your advice first. I am currently setup with an XL650 and Dillon .223 Dies. This ammunition will be used for training and iron targets. I would appreciate any suggestions or opinions on reloading 5.56/.223. Specifically: Recommended % reduction of powder if using CCI 450 Primers; I've read where this is suggested but no data was given to support. I searched for an hour on this forum and could not find specific on 5.56 NATO, so my apologies if this topic has been covered before. I'm looking for you experts out there.
