Looks for Range

Looks for Range (1/11)

  1. Brian, your right. It was the wrong powder & the wrong amount. I'm not sure where I got the bad info. I'll use the VV chart of 5.2 N 320 to start with @ 1.130 oal. The marine load was N 310 @ 4.1 to start with 1.20 oal. Thanks Brian, k&j 223
  2. I;m loading Nosler 185 gr jhp 45 acp using VV N-320 powder. Going for the marine load of 4.1 grs. Can't find the oal any where, looked at 3 different load sites. If any of you happen to know, please let me know. I would really appreicate it. Thanks, k&j 223
  3. I have purchased some nosler 115 jhp 9mm bullets & need some load data useing VV N320 Powder. For just practice & shooting at the range. I ck'd @ the VV reloading site & they didn't list anything for nosler 115 jhp. If any of you have any loads I would appreciate your input. Include your O.A.L. please. Thanks, k&j 223
  4. Jack, I'm glad you were able to order some primers. I couldn't beleve it as well that I was able to get an order so quick. I've been priming some 223 since my Ist post & they work as well as ccI 400 . I measured several & they were the same as ccI, don't know how hard the cup is tho. I received 1 post telling me that they go bang every time. Thats all I care about. I've still got to go to the range yet!!! I'll let you know. Thanks Ken
  5. Thought I would let you know UPS just delivered my order of seller & bellot sm rifle primers. I only ordered them 2 wks ago. I'm impressed, the man that I spoke to [bill ] said he thought that their order would be in at apx 2 wks, boy he was sure right. I don't know how many they got in but give them a call, if they happen to be out, go ahead & place your order. You shouldn't have to wait to long. The co. is Sinclair International 800-717-8211 Very nice co to do business with, shipped my orders out quick. I had heard that they were a great co., now I know for sure. They keep their word & care about their customers. Now i'm on my way down stairs to load up some 223, i'll let you know soon how they work out!!!! Good Shooting, Ken
  6. Joe, the co I talked to dosen't have them in stock yet . The co is Sinclar. I was told that they might get some next mo. I was only trying to get some info on them. Hey if they get some in next mo., That would be great news!! Right? He also told me they are trying to get Wolf Primers as well, we'll just have to wait & see. Everyone has primers on order it seems. I have had primers on order since feb., & no one has responded yet. I don't think anyone has any to ship. I think a body has to know the right people to get any!!!! Good luck on finding some Joe. Ken
  7. Need input on seller & bellot S/R primers. I'm told by seller that they are supposed to be great primers. I'm loading for 223 rem rifle. Thanks, Ken
  8. Need input on seller & bellot primers S/R. The seller tells me that they are supposed to be great quality. Before I order any would like to check them out with sr. reloaders. I'm loading for 223 rem. Thanks , Ken
  9. joe, try natchez shooting supply. they had some a little while ago. good luck 1 800 251 7839 Ken
  10. I would like to ask the pro's, which single stage press is best for 223 rem, & easy to use? I'm going to have my grandsons helping me ,[ Heart problem] I have a rcbs r/c I got in 1970. I'm having a real problem with priming, I have to play with it & rotate the shell & keep trying , then when it finally go's it makes a load snapping sound & does't always go in straight. I'm afraid that it might set off a rd & someone would get hurt. I think a new press is the answer. I haven't reloaded for several yrs. & haven't kept up with the changing times. WOW!!! I read that they don't make the old style rockchucker anymore, & the new is made in china, what a shame. I'd say NO to that ,Only from the good old U. S.A. So please, only made in the U.S.A __Thanks Ken
  11. Response to post on vihtavouri powder N-133. Sorry about the caps, I wasn't paying attention. I'll pick up a reloading manuel, although the manuels don't list the vihtavouri powder w/hornady's bullet's, thanks anyway. I thought perhaps the shooters on this forum would know more about this brand of powder. k&j223
  12. I AM WANTING TO RELOAD FOR 223 REM BOLT ACTION [ REM. 700] & ALSO FOR A/R STYLE RIFLE . FIRST I'M TOLD NOT TO USE REG SMALL RIFLE PRIMERS FOR THE A/R RIFLE, THEN I'MTOLD BY SOMEONE ELSE THAT THIS IS NOT TRUE...THEN I;M TOLD TO CRIMP & THEN NOT TO CRIMP. WOW;;;MY MAIN QUESTION IS ABOUT VIHTAVOURI N 133 POWDER . HAS ANYONE USED THIS POWDER WITH GOOD SUCCESS ?I'M WANTING TO RELOAD FOR MY GRANDSONS WHO ARE JUST GETTING STARTED IN SHOOTING. SO AT FIRST THEY WILL BE JUST PUNCHING PAPER AT THE RANGE TO GET USED TO THEIR RIFLE'S, 1 700 REM & 1 SAVAGE YOUTH RIFLE BOTH OF COURSE IN 223 REM. I'LL BE USEING HORNADY BULLETS 50 GR V-MAX & 55 GR V- MAX W/REG SMALL RIFLE PRIMERS. ANY SUGGESTION WOULD BE APPRECIATED. NOTHING HOT , JUST SOMETHING IN THE MID RANGE. I'VE ALSO BEEN TOLD TO BACK OFF 10 PERCENT FROM MIM. LOAD IF I'M USEING MILTARY BRASS, WHICH I AM USEING. DON'T KNOW IF THIS IS A TRUE STATEMENT OR NOT. THANKS VERY MUCH. K&J223
