I spoke with George Huening at a local match a few weeks ago. He said he was offering the 'roller trigger bar plunger' he made when he operated World Class Pistols. He said they would soon be available on his new web site and he thought Henning and EGW might carry them as well. I guess one of the prototype rollers were in the P-9 Huening built for Doug Koenig that won the World Chapionships with. I didn't get any contact info.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ How long ago was that? I think Huening closed WCPI around 1995. He sold the rights to the hammer patent to Koenig.

Thanks for all the feedback. I was reading a post in other area's and see that setting my chrono in bright sun could cause some problems with the readings. As a learning experience I'll try again with my chrono in the shade. If she blows she blows ! I think you have identified the actual problem. I have experienced readings that were all over the map with loads I had used before and had some reasonable expectation as to how they would perform when my chrono was sitting in the direct, bright sunlight. As an example of this....back in June of this year I was chronographing some loads. It was an overcast day with some clear spots allowing for direct sunlight. I was in the middle of a 10 round string when one of these clear spots passed over the range I was shooting on. My chrono readings went from being consistently within range of what I expected them to be to drastic variations in velocity. The rounds that had the big differences in velocity were fired in the direct sunlight. I have a PACT chrono and if I set it up in one of the bays that is almost always shaded it gives me accurate readings all the time...usually within 2pf of what I get when my loads get chrono'd at a major match where they have the chronographs set up in a box with artificial light. The Koenig hammers are now made by EGW and originally designed and built by George Huening of World Class Pistols. There are rumors of George Huening getting back into gun building. He and his son have been shooting some local matches in the Indy area.

I should have been more specific. I intended to load 3.5 gr of WST! The low is 641 fps and the high is 884 fps. O/A length is 1.190. The old "blow your topstrap" stories popped in my head when I realized the mistake. The extreme spread got me thinkin of EXPLOSION instead of controled burn. Of course I couldn't find my brass to inspect the primers

I have 200 rds of 220 gr S&S cast bullets that were mistakenly loaded with 3.0 grains of WST. I ran 10 rounds through the chrono and had 240 fps x spread with a std deviation of 42! These crazy numbers led me to my mistake. Are these things unsafe to use for "just shoot em up to get rid of them" rounds or is there disaster in my future?

I was checking out various guns this past weekend. The Tanfaglio's felt nice in my hand and seemed to point well. So, how popular are these guns in the action shooting sports and where does one go to get aftermarket performance parts for them? What is the general opinion of these pistols?

I don't have the problem but I know many race drivers and motocross riders use anti-perspirant on their hands and even their foreheads. May be worth a try. It works for them.

My Dremel and I are inseparable. The relationship started on shaky ground but after several hundred dollars of teaching, maybe thousands, we have learned to appreciate each others needs and wants. I don't ask her to do what she is incapable of and in return she promised not to waste any more of my money. Occasionally she lies but I love her !

How many major reloads can a guy expect to get from 40 brass? What are the signs of your brass being used too many times to load it "one more time" ?

While browsing around for 40 cal loads, I see " acceptable accuracy" mentioned. What is considered acceptable for IPSIC 40 major loads ????

Hey all, I purchased 500 moly, 200 grain 40 cal bullets. Comparing to straight lead bullets I have, they are very inconsistent in dia. Measuring a sample of ten bullets, they range from .4010 to .4020. Concentrisity is as much as .0008 from the max dia. where the straight lead bullets measure a max variance of .0004. They also have a rough finish compared to the straight lead bullets I have. Is this normal for moly bullets or should I change brands? These measurements were taken with a micrometer rather than a caliper. I'm new at this reloading so I'm hoping the experienced loaders can add some knowledge to this old head. If this is typical of moly coated bullets I'll pass! Regards,

If a guy were looking to have his STI 40 mags "tuned" by a competent tuner, how much can he expect to spend? I have all the components. I'm not looking for specific prices attached to a particular tuner, just a ball park figure.

Hey all, Been reading this forum topic this morning before picking up my new STI Edge in 40. I purchased 4 extra STI mags with it. They have the vertical ribs formed into the sides. Did I FU buying these mags? Is anyone having trouble with them and if so, can they be saved? Cheers

Interesting. Thought about purchasing a 40 chamber reamer. Ream my barrels and whatever gage I buy. This should be "fool" proof and work with whatever gun I or my kid have now or will use in the future. Geo
