  1. I typically come to the match a day early (or early enough to walk the stages for a local match)and watch others run the stage.  This gives me a basic idea. I then form a plan for the stage by walking it and committing to memory start positions, movement and reloads. I then look for ways to “save time” in movement and transitions based on target position and body position. Once I’ve figured out the most economical way to attack the stage I burn it in my memory. Then run it ten times in my mind before shooting the stage and once more at the make ready.  God bless.

  2. Hello BE friends. I'm talking to World Champ Max Michel about doing classes here in Florida. I'm thinking Malabar Rifle/Pistol in Palm Bay Florida. It's near Melbourne Beach. There are other possible locations like New Smryna, St. Augustine or Titusville.

I'm looking to see if there would be any interest. The class would be limited to 10. He offers several different courses. The one I'm looking at would be basically a 3 day course (1-classroom, 2-shooting days+ shooting a local match with Max.) If there is enough interest I'll firm up a date with Max and post info on this forum.

I've trained with Max before, and can attest to his professionalism and teaching ability. He is an exceptional teacher!!! You WILL learn things that will help you to be a better shooter.

I will check this forum once a day for 2 weeks OR you can pm me. Thanks guys!!!

  3. I read an article from the " Great One". He suggests locking the wrists for better recoil control and muzzle flip. I tried it and seemed the front sight returned faster and the same spot on the target a lot faster. As someone suggested. Try it. Works for me.

  4. I ran a 4 moa till I tried the 2 moa. I liked the 2 moa for the tight shots as it didn't cover up the entire target. However I had to turn it up to full bright to see it well especially with sunglasses. So keep that in mind

  5. My 2cents: I started off with a kimber 1911 in idpa then moved right into open with a Bedell open gun. Beautiful gun but I didn't like the polymer grips. I wanted more weight to the gun. STILL had an aluminum grip tha had problems with cracking. It all changed when SV started making steel grips. I got my hands on an SV limited gun and haven't looked back. I now have an open build within SV which should arrive in Sept.

Dan Bedell, SV and Akia custom all offer metal grips. You can't go wrong with any of these custom guns. I prefer SV.
