Anyone have a decent load for a 200 grn moly bullet using Titegroup?
Thanks

I put the Warren set on one G34 and the Sevigny set on another, and really like them. I had to get the taller .245 front sight to get them to shoot to POA.
-
Just curious for those recommending the non LCI extractor...What is the difference between the two (other than the LCI raised surface)? Is there a difference in the angle, quality of the metal, something else?
Now there will be a run on old 2nd gen extractors

Problem solved. The new .245 high front sight shoots to POA. Thanks for the help.

Someone on AR15.com did a pretty nice write-up on the TRX Extreme that he put on a 3-gun rifle. Cold, Stickman--I don't remember, but it was a well respected, longtime poster. He had many good things to say about it, and I think he ended up preferring it to his V-Tac tubes (which he also likes a lot). Based on the few people in the thread that had them, I'd purchase without worry. Troy makes good stuff. I'll try to find the thread.
Personally, I'll stick with the V-Tac, 'cause I dislike rails when I don't need them. I even put a V-Tac on my duty rifle, because I really only need one 2-inch section of rail for the whole dang thing.

Scott replied to my e-mail, and sent me to CPWSA for the sight. I ordered a whole 'nother set for my back-up G34 as well as a new taller front sight.
Thanks for the help

. . . or just take a flat file to the rear sight.
You know I thought of that, but I'm willing to spend $35 if it keeps a file out of my hands. I'd end up making one side higher than the other, then the other, and by the time all was said and done, I'd be replacing my rear sight too. I think its best to keep power tools and sharp objects out of my hands.

Thanks--I just e-mailed him.

Ya, but its that 8" plate at 25 I'm worried about.
-
After all the great advice you all gave me about the trigger, I figured I'd throw this out as well. I installed a set of the Warren / Sevigny sights (FO) on my new G34, and it shoots about an inch and a half high at 10yds, and about three and a half to four inches high at 25. It groups just fine, but I'm a little concerened that 4" high at 25 (and presumably even higher at greater than 25) is going to cost me during a match. I guess my only option is a taller Dawson front sight.
What do you guys think...is 4" at 25 too high of a POI?

Here is one I knocked out this morning. A DOH-type for my G34 that I'm going to use for production division this year. This one turned out really nice, and its the first one I've made that I would consider 'sellable' should I decide to do it.
ETA: I see the paint is still a little wet on the bottom screw--I should be more patient

Just a little update since I started this thread. I got the LWD connector in the mail and installed it this afternoon. I also did the $.25 trigger job. Just the trigger job with the factory 5.5 connector gave me no noticeable results. Installing the LWD connector helped quite a bit, and I'm happy with it as is. I don't plan on doing anything else to it, except shoot the crap out of it.
Thanks for everyones recommendations.

Pretty smooth. How long does it take to build up a holster?
The DOH-type took me about 4ish hours. The IWB took a little longer, but these were only my 2nd and 3rd holsters I've made, so I'm still learning. I suspect I could get it down to around 2.5 hours per holster once I get everything figured out. Having the proper tools helps to make things go faster--and I don't have the proper tools.
Here's my first one. A belt holster for my G21. It was my first, so it looks a little rough, but it carries the gun so well and is so thin (compared to a leather holster) that it immediately became my off-duty holster of choice.

....Making stuff is neat.
hahaha, that made me laugh.
Good work tho! holsters look pretty legit
"Pretty Legit Gun Gear"...I think I have found my company name.

Not sure if I would ever go into business...I now understand why a simple kydex holster is so darn expensive. Its not because they cost a lot to make, but because they are labor intensive. I could probably make some in my spare time for half what a company charges and be happy with that--but you're really not paying yourself to do the work.
What cha want Nemo--I'd be happy to make something for you or the boys
-
Interesting you should mention that. I used a bit less cant on the DOH-type than a real DOH holster just for that reason--It hangs nearly vertical.

DIY KYDEX!
Here are the two most recent products of my new time-consuming hobby.
A DOH-type for a 92FS
And an IWB for a single stack

Front sight is cake. I can tell you on the sevignys I got, all of them had to be filed down (5 different glocks).
Had to file them down? Man, I'm just the opposite. I installed the Sevignys and my POI is high enough that I might have to file the rear sight a little, or get a taller front sight.

From what I have been told, it does not deal with added capacity. It is about increased reliability of the mags. I think there is a thread or two discussing the kit in the Dawson vendor area down by the classifides.
-
Thank you all for the help. Aftermarket connector it is.
-
I didn't really want to sacrafice the reliability of the factory parts, as it seems that GLOCKs are reliable as a brick until you start putting aftermarket parts in them. Thanks for the help and suggestions.
-
It is the LE model with fixed sights--which have already been replaced with Warren sights. The mag release is the extended version, which will be replaced with a standard one as soon as I can. Thank you for the information about the connector.
-
So I picked up a new G34 the other day, and it came with the 5.5 connector installed instead of the 3.5. Is the 3.5 lb connector the only parts difference between the 5.5 and 3.5 lb models, or are there other parts / springs in there that need to be replaced.
PS: I want factory parts--I don't want to run any aftermarket parts.
Thanks.

I hope they add 6" 2011/1911 design to the list. Should be a good one for longslide guns.
Yesh that would be cool. I will find out more and post when I do. I'm curious to see if the doh cants gun away from body with this new holster.
Al
They already do. I've got two DOHs for 6" 2011s. You just have to call and ask them.
